Hey folks, I'd like to address several comments that pointed out my use of the engine to analyze the opening from the second game while it was still ongoing, around the 25:00 mark. First, and most importantly, having an engine running during a game is against the rules, end of story. It was wrong and I unreservedly apologize to my opponent and to any viewers who felt uncomfortable during that segment. After capturing my opponent's queen, I fully expected resignation any moment and got impatient. It goes without saying that one's status or title should never put them above justified criticism. I am sorry and it will not happen again. However, I'd like to strongly request that you take the context into account and treat it charitably. The speedrun series is educational in nature, and as such, my priority at every moment is to maximize the instructive value of each second. I was up a full queen and minor piece, and was looking at the opening (i.e. the unrelated position after a few moves) in the hopes of shortening the post-game analysis. In the moment, I thought it obvious that in the context of the series it would not be interpreted by anyone as deliberate cheating. I think that anyone with a modicum of discernment can see that I had zero intention of "normalizing cheating" by suggesting that using an engine during a competitive game is in any way acceptable. It is not. And anyone who has watched even a tiny percent of my YT or stream content can agree, I hope, that I have consistently advocated for fair play in chess, and have tried to foster a community that prizes honesty and integrity as we all strive to become better at chess. My priority is, and always will remain, to put out educational content that helps people improve at chess. I try to lead by example, but I am not perfect. Thank you for taking this into consideration, and my deepest gratitude to y'all for your support, kind words, and stories of success. I am honored and grateful to play a part in your chess journey.

Come on Danya! It's not about a part of just one game, you're 'always' cheating! I mean you've got a sharp mind running in the background in each and every game :) And you have one of, if not the most educational YT channel on chess. Thank you for your efforts and your positive attitude. Keep up the great work!

Yeah, along the same sentiment as the above comment, he basically is an engine at this level 😂 he doesn’t need an engine to win. I don’t see why anyone would bring out criticism of using one (since the game was already won) as again this is educational content

One of the hardest things about chess improvement is understanding what small improvements are possible, even if they don't immediately lead to victory, or even correct answers for the Socratic moments. I've gone from clueless, to most popular wrong answer, to nearly getting the Example 3 combination -- I fell victim to queen disease and didn't consider the queen exchange line. All ways of being wrong, but this is a distant spot from where I was before I started assiduously watched Danya's videos. Showing example games not only helps nail down the idea, but act as signposts for where one might be in their chess development. There is no shame in making the same mistake a titled player had made in the past (or in my case, Danya when he was like 9)

In these videos he’s already cheating. Playing people below his rating, AKA smurfing. The people’s ratings are refunded. He does this for educational purposes. He could use the engine the whole time, but that would be worse educational content. It wouldn’t be any less ethical

Everyone seems to be super nice and forgiving which is a testament to the community you've built :) Can I respectfully point out that based on this and a couple of other comments like people should resign etc., - it feels like you're just bored at the lower ratings and it really shows, as a 1300 I do completely get that & your other speedruns have been AMAZING(!), I'm just getting a different more negative vibe from this one, like you have a bit less respect to your opponents than before... He was probably just trying to save time setting up the analysis board for afterward, because the position was completely winning (regardless of the rating disparity) and he was hoping the opponent would resign so that he could get on to the analysis. I agree he should've waited, but it can't really hurt to look at how the engine thinks you should've played 10 moves ago. Besides that the opponent was down a queen and knight and decided that that was the moment to start thinking and take their time for it. Any gm in that situation will just be extremely bored, so because of that he probably just started prepping his analysis. I agree with you, its probably against the rules, but a completely different position where the ideas do not translate to the current position does not yield any unfair advantage
