It was probably a submarine. Trident class Boomer. You’re lucky to be alive.

That bit like your PB halibut 💯 50” 😂…. I remember commenting about catching my largest halibut in the winter and that is true… Remember here in SoCal our waters get close to NorCal summer time temperatures so maybe that’s why 🤔 And I dropped a 7” live sardine over a rock pile and caught a 5” sand dab , how is that even possible????

Mermaid no doubt
I love your term critical. Kayak fishin Alaska is pretty damn important to know your weather. Thanks, man, for your efforts.
Those lil sanddabs are lingcod candy!
That’s the spot to jig or yo-yo… Helps get bigger bottom fish and if you drop bait, go double dropper loop just in case you get a quality rock fish 🍻
the windy app is a real game changer in making offshore fishing plans...I love it.

That was a grind! Cool to check out new spots though. Can’t wait to see you fish that area when it’s red hot!
Love seeing the grind man, even without catching anything we still like to see the videos. Thanks! Keep it up brotha 🤙

Yes Sir it’s gonna be a good one!
Yep! My biggest halibut is 42 lbs. caught in December fishing for ling!
Good my Fishing friend Wonderful 😊
Electric reels, so funny. To poor for those things. Battery drill and forked metal doo hickey and I'm good to go. Love that area. Stay safe and tight lines youngen.
Good job Adam for putting in the time that’ll inspire me to keep grinding I’m guessing it was a big halibut 😊
The mystery continues 😮
I use the windy app for Lake Coeur d’Alene area fishing always. Great app!

Stoked that Windy sponsored you! I use it constantly for surfing and fishing and it's super good
I use the Windy app! It is a critical tool for me to determine if it's safe for me to go out on the ocean. Both the wind speed, gales and the swells and periods between them. All important so I enjoy my time out there! Great sponsor!

absolutely fantastic little fish restaurant/market there. best Cioppino I have ever tasted. used to buy it by the gallon and use for my work lunches.
Moss landing my home port!
fished most of my life in California, half right where you are in the vid basically. Now I live in New Zealand. fishing overall is better here, but the fish are quite different.
Pan fried San dab is the best. Lol
Let's go!!
Can't catch good eater sized fish everything Adam, but it's well worth hunting them. Good luck 👍

Every time
Tons of leopard sharks and bat rays in the slough you passed heading out. Unfortunately, I've heard they closed all that down now. I remember as a kid they did bow fishing tournaments in that slough.

my buddy researched leopard sharks, and I worked on gray smoothounds there for years. so much mud. great place for kayaking though.
Going to San Francisco next week hopefully I get lucky with a nice halibut

Adam, how do you say jackpot? Lizard fish and sandabs are jackpot fish on party boats. Big Lings, like the ones you caught using eels.
I love sandabs smoked. Mmmm...
poached in butter is yummy
Why not use the sanddabs for lingcod bait?
High probability you hooked a bonito which have been holding in this area
There was bonitos running in that area a couple of weeks ago in that area. You could’ve targeted them. 😊
Beautiful day
those are large parasitic isopods. They in fact ARE just like giant ticks as far as the fish is concerned. imagine your dog having ticks the size of a rat.
Y'all ain't gotta use a deep water release rig in Cali?
@DieHardFishing

It isn't required but probably should be
@harrisgraves592

@DieHardFishing State of Alaska has done extensive research on barotrauma. The release rigs work really well. Survival rate is a lot higher. Did you know that the physically traumatized fish takes more time than we think to heal. It's quite harmful to be drug up from the deep. The release rigs are super simple to use and cheap to buy. I keep 2 on board.
@thomasneal9291

@@harrisgraves592 We used to bring syringes with large gauge needles on them, just puncture the swimbladders and bobs your uncle.
How does that release work when the rockfish's eyes are bulging out?
Whwn i fish over 300' i use a deepdrop light. And my electric reel lol and if you made your way to the first big bowl you can get yourself some black cod/ sablefish
I love the way how you tell us what city your fishing in…..

Why would he blow up the spot like that? I get it but it’s also respectful to not say to keep the area less pressured. The cool thing is you can find spots like that yourself and put in the hard work to find the good spots

how do you tell the difference between a petrale sole and a halibut? I'm never sure when I catch a flatfish and usually let them all go.
@thomasneal9291

halibut are easily recognizable. they are much thicker, and less broad.
Great video of course Adam just out of curiosity were you at Morrow Bay I see those smoke stacks?

No no. They do not say, its not all about catching. It most certainly IS all about catching. But it wouldnt be called fishing if was just catching.
damm. i thought 1000 plus feet was super deep for a kayak fishing. ive been going all around between 40 ~ 800 feet waters with my inflatable intex k2 kayak with a trolling motor. i feel like a dangerous man
