@@dr.max9yt459 i answered your question. so the fish bite. your comment appeared to me like some idiot crying about hunting and fishing while eating his grocery store meat, thats why i was so rude. but to get more in depth why they inject air into them, it makes them float on the top of the water instead of dragging across the bottom which i guess keeps catfish and bottomfeeders away from the hook because they are considered trashfish. a positive side effect is that it also makes them look fatter and tastier to fish so theyll be more likely to bite. have a great day man

It's illegal to fish because that's the trout spawning season. All our cold water fisheries in the adirondacks prohibit ice fishing and those lakes are close for that same time period for the spawn.

I live near here but I haven't fished in several years. Maybe I should pick up my license and give it another go. It is my 2nd fave lake in MA because it has loons on it. The environmental officers are very serious about parking, licenses, everything - but that's what keeps it beautiful.

My friends uncle got the biggest largemouth bass in there. It was 9 lbs 9oz in 99. He had a giant bass eat his trout he was reeling in and he went back to the same spot with pike shiners. That’s wild! I have a buddy of mine, who, funny enough is an old timer and has fished the Chu for awhile now and has shared the way of the blown dead shiner with me. He was there Opening Weekend and landed a 20” 3.35 lb rainbow on that rig.

I'm from eastern MA and went fishing at the Chu once (in the summer of '22 if memory serves) and I only caught one fish.. but it was my first and only yellow bullhead! A very rare catch around these parts. Can't wait to get back there soon and hopefully hook into another new species. That's the magic of places like this.. when you get a fish on you just never know what you might pull in. That's a very thrilling feeling!

Look into beaver run reservoir. The Illegal fisherman have caught every PA state record out of that lake.
Well, I just added that lake to my bucket, I mean stringer, list.
Been a fly angler here in Michigan for over 20 years. Just came across your channel yesterday. Just wanted I love what you're doing and respect it. All the best to you and yours. By the almighty and with honor, Smoky sends.
I have that same orange spiral rod holder as you! It’s rather exciting because I think it’s really good and seeing more people use it is cool.
Here in Arizona damn near every body of water will end up in someones home. Honestly pretty cool to think about its journey.
May want to check the regs on that reservoir. Usually it is illegal to use to any kind of bait fake or real because it is a drinking water reservoir. Also just a good rule of thumb to keep as an angler even if it is allowed... I made this mistake once on a reservoir near a military base and was approached by a warden accompanied by an mp. Somehow talked myself out of being arrested, they were not happy.

There's really only a handful of spots in MA with any regulations other than limits. You can use bait everywhere except like one section of a specific river that's a fly fish only I believe.
I love hiking! The longer the hike, the better. The drinking water supply, where I live, is Lake Athabasca. One can see 30 metres through the crystal clear water, to the bottom. It is often said the planet is in dire condition compared to 30 years ago. I beg to differ. This lake was disgusting 30 years ago. From British Columbus to Nova Scotia, things are amazingly better environmentally. Things are so good, we gave our American brothers and sisters populations of bald eagles to show our love and respect to the United States of America. Things are, indeed, improving environmentally.
Been there! Also from Massachusetts here!
Most of the UK drinking water is fishing water and closed at the same time due to spawning season. My local one has a Pike syndicate who pay big money to fish during the closed season on a catch and release only and Pike only.
So that's why my dad kept all those needles in his tackle box! I thought it was weird, but I already trusted his process. I remember we used to stop in the ghetto for our bait. It was out of the way, but dad always insisted they had the best bait in town. He was adamant that we got enough for the whole fishing trip too. He would fish so hard he would have to sleep for days after a trip. Ahhh, good times, good times
Better catch me🎣
lmao that water is still contaminated by the living fish in it😂
And sure enough 😂
As someone who lives really close to wachusett I can confirm it is great fishing and for most spots it’s about a 0.8 mile walk.
There're many reservoirs in Australia that are similar. Except I think it's no fishing at all. They don't want any Lead sinkers or pretty much anything contaminating the water.
City of Akron has quite a few of them. Even if you live around the lakes you cannot go onto them or fish them. People do sneak in and tell tales of some record sized fish. But the fines are steep and who wants to go to court. Lake Rockwell
Love your vids
I always hated shore fishing- but this is the only place I make an exception.
Also plenty of moose there!
We've got one in Ohio that is 100% locked down. But I've seen pictures of people's illegal catches...absurdly giant fish.
Waaa-waa-wachusett!
here it's only plastic lures/bait that can be used to fish in the allowed water reservoirs
It’s the Commiewealth of Massachusetts. It’s illegal to do anything. Can’t take a piss without a permit.

It might be a “hike through the forest” to get to the good spots but it’s only a couple miles round trip and the trails are wide open and basically flat so nobody should complain about a little walk for a beautiful spot!

Never heard the trick of blowing air up the bait. It makes sense, have a few weights inches away from the bait bringing it to the bottom, air in the bait makes it float just inches from the bottom where the weights are holding it down. Nice trick
That’s a great trick to get the bait off the bottom
And sure enough 😅❤
It Is illegal maybe because The whole water body is dependent for some state for usage . If someone dies in that lake , The whole water body can’t be used for some days until it gets pure . This may result in water scarcity .
