Fishing in Melbourne's MOST pressured Redfin Lake
Спорт
Hi guys, welcome back to another episode of Luke's Fishing. In today's video I decided to film and upload a video at one of Melbourne's most over fished Redfin lakes. The conditions weren't great with all the weed around however, my mate and i still managed to pull out some nice fish. At lakes like this it is always important to make sure you release the fish, so either myself or another fisherman can enjoy the fishery for the years to come.

Nice session there! Have you tried using Strike Tiger 3" pro-series minnow soft plastics in 'Orange Spawn'? The big redfin seem to really go for them.

Hi there, thanks for watching! I’ve never tried them, I’d be happy to go back to this lake and make a video if you wanted to send me a packet :)
Nice Catch Bro
Just wondering what this lake is called?
Couple of big dogs chilling under those timber walk areas last few days in the sun but are uninterested. Weed forests are insane these days
Hoping that they have a good spawn this year, been catching a lot of nice ones but all skiny and needing a feed

Where's that at?
Whats the lake called? Sad to hear people are keeping them too🙄
what spot bro
Where is this spot
Actual reason the fish numbers are decreasing is not by people taking them it's because the lack of food available and the adult fish eating the eggs and juveniles to survive..Taking fish out and reducing the numbers can actually increase the size and numbers in enclosed waterways..Other option is to feed them like they do in fish farms

That is not true. There is plenty of food in here, as you can see that Redfin are thick and healthy. If there was no food you'd catch a lot of small skinny fish and that's not the case. Also back in the day before a lot of people used to fish here, you'd get multiple fish in the 40s and a heap of other good size fish.

Yes plenty of food, their own offspring..Lesser the competition for food the bigger the fish grow..How many small redfin do you catch, probably very few and I mean small ..None I saw you catch were under 20 cm 1:16 g

you wanna exchange snaps cause i’m looking for mates to fish with i got none 😂
where’s this
VR Fish, "There are no bag or size limits for Redfin in Victoria. The Victorian Fisheries Authority encourage anglers not to return Redfin to the water as they prey on native fish species"

This is an urban man made lake in the middle of the suburbs. No native fish here
Yea I cringe seeing people take reddies from these recreational ponds...then again it's usually the older generation that grew up in worse financial times.

This year is definitely the worst year I've ever seen for local reddies. However with that said, I have had some success at new ponds that I've found pond hopping

You’re not too bright aye. If you don’t take some Redfin they over populate the water as they are prolific breeders then the whole lake is full of stunted small Redfin as there’s too many fish chasing the same food supply. Before you start spouting you should learn some facts.

Secondly if you’re so concerned about releasing fish it’s probably best to not spin them around by their bottom lip and release them carefully instead of just launching them back. Dick.

You're an absolute dopey cunt. The big fish eat the smaller ones thinning out the population. You sound like a Redfin expert so you should know that. If you take the bigger reddies they'll all stunt and you'll find the lake will be full of 20cm reddies. Get the fuck off my page sad cunt
