I was deep water pole fishing and hooked a roach and then a pike attacked the roach. The roach was flung off the hook and the pike hooked itself instead. That's how I caught my first pike👌🏼

Nice ! What was the size of the pike ? Because it happened to me several times, only twice was I able to land the pike (I was fishing in a lake with a lot of pikes and roaches) and they were between 40 and 55 cm (16-21 inch) . Using a 5 m pole rod, no rubber and 16/100 main line and 14/100. Even once foul hooked a zander while fishing for breme !

When about 10 years old in france on a family holiday, i went night fishing with a family friend (just watched and helped where i could) we had meat on hair rigs in the lake, bite alarm was twitching, we assumed something swam into line, then kept twitching. Started bringing in a small perch, something took hold. He spent 15 mins pulling in the unknown, and eventually had it netted. I had never seen one before, i thought some kind of pike, it was a zander! With a perch inside its throat, 1 hook through 2 different fish lips, like Fishception. I since heard they are in the UK in some places, and I'm OBSESSED with wanting to catch one, but only recently started fishing again after a few busy years.

Oh yeah! watched my dad set up a feeder with a small roach for large perch in a well known fishery. he used a bayonet type rig with a single hook rather than a treble. it fished for 15-20 minutes until..Whack!! a decent rod bend moment and a good fight, expecting a green flash with a few red fins until he popped his golden head up and it turned out to be a 2lb crucian carp! strangest one ever but seeing him catch more eels and not many perch has been this summers highlight. keep em coming K&A. Dai.

Was float fishing a syndicate lake that I'd not fished before and that not many people fish except for carp. I wanted to find out the stamp of silver fish and anything else that might bite so tried a single maggot. I landed a couple of small perch and then suddenly one got a lot heavier! It was a jack pike of about 3-4lb which sadly came off. However, I had my lure gear in the car (it was winter) so I got that and landed a small jack! Wasn't the same fish but I was still really pleased with myself! Memorable days fishing!

The day before yesterday it happened actually twice on the feeder. First time it got my roach and snapped the line as well, whereas the second time, which happened a bit later on the day, it let go of the roach. (just like the pike let go of your perch in the video) Then I quickly got my pike rod with a lure and managed to catch him afterall. Yesterday it happened again! When I reeled in, the hook and a bit of line were just disappeard. Must say that they're quite smart; just waiting at a baited spot for a little fish to get in trouble.

Was doubled up in a swim at orchid lake with a mate who borrowed my marker rod and couldn't believe it when a pike took the marker on the retrieve, was bizarre that neither of us had cast a bait out, yet there he was already into a fish ,which proceeded to bite through the mainline, but fortunately released the marker as it drifted in later, we did chuckle.

Oh, the bigger fish eating your smaller one on happened to me a lot of times by now. As someone who pretty much only does Ultra Light lureing from march to june I obviously hook a lot of small perch, chub, trout and often even roach and stuff wanting a protein shake. The fish in my area seem to be pretty aggressive, so bigger chub, perch and pike attacking your fish happens actually pretty often. Even landed some quite good ones this way.

I was fishing on a local pond with a pole for bream and I swear this is true. Baited the hook with a maggot, while casting that out I hooked a dragonfly in the air. Did not really want to unhook it, (not really a fan of bugs) so while thinking what to do with it lay on the water in the margins where a frog took it. Then a pike came after the frog. Did not take it, but had a look. Managed to shake the hook free somehow :) I also had a pike following a large snowman rig whilst reeling it in on a canal. Rig was spinning round.

Not the same but i was freelining bread for carp in the dark down my local park and the bread fell off. So i left the rod on the edge with the line in the water so i wasnt standin on it in the dark while i went to get more bread. When i got back i lifted the line out of the water and there was a perch perfectly hooked. no bait or lure just a size 10 hook. saved me a blank! lol

Yes dropped a perch in to give it some water at a canal because I needed to discourage it then a 10 lbs pike choked it.

I was using big lures for pike and caught a small perch (the treble was bigger than it's mouth), after a small fight the pierch was coming in when a felt a firm tug and saw a pike bite the perch. I was so close to landing the pike when it let go at the last minute. I was gutted as i'd never caught a pike before.
