Capt Johnny is the real deal! He will put you on the FISH! I fish with him for every chance I get. He is an excellent guide.

Use some shiners for some of the snakes or frogs..they chase it down and slam them hard.

Don't feel Bad Marshall, I have that same phenomena when I Snakehead fish some days like they just don't Commit. I'm headed back to hit some more soon. Wish the Glades was lower, they have just had too much rain lately. Gotta book a day with you to get on some Bass next month. Tight Lines! 🐟

We will get on them soon! I think half my first problem was using a left handed reel that had me thrown off my game lol!

I like to use soft plastic frogs (zoom horny toads)with wide ewg worm hooks! I stopped using hollow body frogs for snakeheads because of how many hooksets I missed!! They are a blast to fish for tho

They can be out of the water for 3 days

Was just down there last October on the kayaks. Put in at the same ramp and had a blast crushing the snakeheads. I will have to give Capt Johnny a call when I go back.

Kinda late but the reason you were missing so many bites was because your rod had just a little to much bend in it if it’s a medium heavy I would go with a heavy next time but nice job man

it also doesnt help that people have mostly cleared out that canal system they were fishing. It was the first place the snakehead blew up and the fishing used to be insane there. Now that people have caught so many and sold them to the restaurants it just leaves some tiny ones. Last time I fished it was over summer once and I got about the same results he did. Theres just so many better places now where u don't even need a boat

There is a small learning curve with hitting the hookset on these fish! Once you get the hang of it you'll be landing them left and right

Wanna catch more snakeheads? Toss those hollowbody frogs in the garbage and get some paddle tail frogs. Next time you're in town give me a shout, I'll put you on more and bigger snakeheads for much less than he charged you.

I have a spot in Coral spring where ive caught a 13pd snakehead and theres a few of them and ive seen bigger in this area HMU if you want to check it out.
