Idk Fort Worth seemed a lot more nasty from what I seen and the amount of people on the river walk every day it looked good to me . Seems like S.A. Does a lot to keep trash out of the water . San Antonio River always gets hate and there is far worse . I am just guessing but the amount of people partying alongside the river is huge,bars restaurants can’t imagine if it wasn’t taken care of .

That was a rio grande cichlid. Native to Texas. It’s the only cichlid native to the United States and that was a giant one.

Jon, I love what you’re doing with this series and protecting our waters. I think the thing that drew me to your channel in particular was the first video I ever watched, maybe two years ago, you stopped to pick up trash another angler had left and ranted about being better. Your channel helped me rekindle the childhood love of fishing and get back into it. Thank you.

My favorite thing about Jon B is that he not only advocates for wildlife health and clean ecosystems, but he encourages us to try local restaurants in the cities that we travel to, which in turn boosts the local economy and small businesses! When the pandemic started I decided to take up fishing. I went to KZread and searched San Antonio fishing and Johns first trip to SA came up. Really pushed me to explore my cities fishing spots. Haven’t stopped since. Everybody put a trash bag in your bag/box and cleanup when you can. Makes a huge difference.

Always bring extra bags with me, have filled up an entire full size trash bag on one fishing trip before. Sad because I live on a tourist lake not too far from SA and people come out here and trash it. A damn shame. And people wonder why the free public fishing and swimming areas are getting fewer and fewer.

You should travel each region like midwest, northeast, south, southeast, northeast. And reachout to smaller not known anglers from insta or youtube and take a day or half day to go fish with em for some maybe local unknown spots. It would make good content.

I love the message ur spreading about picking up trash and helping the environment. It’s been my dream lately the somehow build a platform big enough the spread that type of message and you are doing just that. Keep it up man

I decided to drive down to Dallas a couple years ago after visiting my mom in central KS. I wanted to catch myself a Texas bass, so I ended up arriving at Love Field where there's a nice lake right off the runway called Bachmann Lake. There was only about an hour of light left, so after spending way too long getting my fishing license at the local Wal Mart, I was fishing in twilight and it was getting dark fast. I ended up foul hooking a 10+ lb carp with a chatterbait, and it took forever to land it. And to top it off, I snapped my rod trying to bend over and drag it onto shore. I spent the night in a motel and drove straight back to MO in the morning. I figured I had my fill of TX fishing for a little while.

There is some spots in the river walk where you can drop the kayak in. Plus you got here just in time they are draining the river walk on the 23 to clean it.
