I used to fish Kinzua Creek before the dam was built.

Kinzua Creek? That is the Allegheny River! I fished it many many times a couple miles above the Cornplanter cemetary before the dam was built. The bass fishing was great and on occasion I caught rainbow trout. At the rapids you could walk across the river. That was the good old days. My dad and friends had a hunting camp on the river.

Looks like an awesome spot, but had the same success as you every time. The big concrete pad used to be a shore covered in rocks with fossils , the easy access just brought balls of fishing line to snag on.very surprised PFBC didn't harass you with a compliance check.they always feel compelled to assert their authority there. The actual Reservoir above has to be the worse fishing by water volume in the northeast. Absolutely no structure or shallow water. Just 70 ft drop offs 6 feet from shore. Army corp of engineers never took fishing or wildlife into consideration when they built that vertical walled aquarium

That is one of the places I have seen but never fished. Nice walleye. At least you caught dinner.😉👍

Thanks, it had been on my bucket list for a couple years before I finally fished it! It's on my bucket list now to go back and actually spend a whole day there, maybe this year will finally be the year!

One of the few waters in NWPA that a guy can consistently catch flathead catfish. Hook up one of those rock bass and chuck it out there.

Good video. The Kinzua Dam is big, but not the biggest dam in Northeast or Pennsylvania.

I learned it was nowhere near the biggest in the Northeast when I fished the Niagara power authority last year lol

How did you figure out how to get down there? I have been here twice, and really wanted to go down to that spot right under the dam, but the only way I could find was to just go across the dam, which obviously is not possible.

There is a road that goes to the fishing access at the bottom of the Dam from the city of Warren. It's about a 25 minute drive from the overlook at the top of the dam to the fishing access at the bottom.

Also note that the fishing access is not always open, it's almost always open but they close it from time to time for security and safety reasons.

Cool! Warren is a nice little city. I grew up in Jamestown and used to work in Bradford, people in Jamestown and Bradford are jealous of Warren. Warren is such a nice place, Jamestown and Bradford are not nice places nowadays lol

I have a camp in on that road he was on when i was younger i used to tell my pap that there is no fish there

should have let the walleye go holy fuck barely legal what are you Amish Hope you drown next time you go there so you wont take anymore fish Fishing below dams should be catch and release only. I caught a 52 inch musky below a dam and released it Most people would not have though
