Bream absolutely loves those chubby crank baits! The spot looks perfect for surface lures though, especially small poppers in windy days.

I went out fishing this weekend after a while, I didn't take much gear so I just put some burley in my pockets and got into the water. Caught some herring and whiting too.

Excellent as always mate. Seems like your system is very similar to my local estuary system (but mine has jewwies all through it). Im currently on the hunt for my first estuary perch. Funny, im getting into a similar situations as you, catching little salmon on soft plastics when targeting bream or otherwise Looking forward to another estuary vid. Maybe you could target estuary perch further upriver? I hear they take rather well to surface lures as well.

Over here in nz we call those "Autrailian salmon" a "Kahawai". Hreat for the smoker if you get a good one
