So many fishing videos use confrontation to drive views, but I was happy to find your example as a constructive case of how to handle difficult folks on the water. The deeper message about not letting the haters get you down, or worse, to change your behavior to accommodate them, was so earnestly said that it resonated with me. Well done!

This is the first time I’ve watched one of your videos. I’m now one of your subs. Your fishing technique is solid. I’ve never seen a squid fishing video before so this old man learned something today. My Daddy took me fishing with him when I was two days old. That was back in the ‘50’s and I still have the old aluminum boat he used that day. We too stayed away from the crowds and Daddy also was a master at ‘finding the fish’. I grew up under his teaching in the Louisiana swamps and I thank God that I am Blessed to carry those memories of hunting and fishing, running wild through those swamps. The way you handled the gruff old fisherman shows me that you are a MAN. You stood your ground, were not disrespectful and put the ball in his court as to whether or not things would escalate or calm down. We seem to have a serious shortage of men in today’s world and it’s always refreshing to see that a few do still exist. The character you showed was the deciding factor for me to subscribe to your channel. Now, being a Louisiana sportsman means that I also know how to cook fish and wild game. My cooking tastes so good that if someone gets too close to your plate, they’re liable to get slapped. 👍🤣 That being said, I’m going to search your videos for the catching , cleaning and cooking of squid. Never hurts to learn something new, (although I’ll probably ‘cajunize’ your recipe a mite.) Keep the videos coming Brother and Lord Bless you.

You handled yourself very well with that grumpy man. I think you will find he is a Territorial Grandiose Nacissist who is secretly jealous of your ability and angry at you for catching "his" fish and squid. It goes both ways sometimes you might have a great spot and then certain groups find out and they come 30 deep bringing the whole family and clean out your spot I won't name these certain groups to not stereotype but if one particular group finds out you're screwed. I live near the beach and it really gets packed out here that would be a quiet day where I'm at and don't even get me started on the jet skis but calamari are everywhere it's no biggie showing your spot as there are so many it's the whiting, flathead and snapper spots I'm talking about in summer I stop fishing too many people I've started going out again now. As you said there will always be haters and unfortunately none of us own the water even if we're local they have as much right as us as long as they respect the rules well done for standing up to that guy and you guys don't have it bad at all as the saying goes there's plenty of fish in the sea great channel new sub.

Shoulda told Male Karen to come back next weekend to join in the fun coz you’re having a KZread fans meet & greet squid session there at Ink Bay. There’d be kayaks & tinnys everywhere 🤣

Keep doing your thing mate. The guy is clearly jealous of your fishing skills and wishes he could do what you do. You have a great attitude. Love your work. Tight lines from Hawkes Bay, NZ.

Hey mate, well done on the way you conducted yourself, controlled, calm and respectful. I think the issue is with people not successful want to blame others for their failure. Go hard . Thank you.

Nev....I make my living assessing people, their character, and their credibility.... The only time I'm wrong is if a person is a sociopath. Anyway I can tell you're a solid person in about two minutes and you are absolutely correct just ignore people who are negative and surround yourself with people who are smart and could help guide you and will offer you constructive criticism if necessary all the best from California

There is a spot which I call the "Anchorage" which I'm told is a great location for those wanting to try their luck on the squid. Particularly the "Yak" fraternity due to the gentle slope and easy access to the beach for launch. Don't tell "Karen". I want to keep it a Karen free zone.

If he has a go at you and ur filming again you should say the gps location of the spot to the camera and really piss him off. Well handled mate and cracking squid!
