Fish Hydrolysate - Fermented Fish Fertilizer

Ойын-сауық

This batch is based on 2 large wild king salmon I caught. The fillets went into the smoker, freezer, and our bellies. The fish carcasses went into a bucket with molasses and water and allowed to ferment with naturally incurring lacto bacteria. It will stink for 1-3 weeks but then become a wonderful fertilizer for your soil and plants.

A buddy started giving me walleye carcasses and I just kept dumping them in a 55 gal. steel barrel with water. I did add some urine at one point. It sat for a year before I ventured to use it. Believe me..... it still smelled pretty rank. Wear rubber gloves and don't spill even a drop on your clothes. I didn't dilute it nearly enough cause I managed to burn 30 tomato plants and several pepper plants on first application. Fortunately I had plenty of extra plants to replace them with. So lesson learned..... dilute, dilute, dilute.

☝Listen, ...☝ Okay, ☝ Real Talk ☝In Asia, a Salmon Fish Head is a meal for the whole family. Grilled or as a soup. The fact that you call this waste says a lot, without me knowing you personally. I was taught from an early age not to waste anything and to have respect for all living beings. You seem to have grown up rich and be rich. Next time throw some more lobsters, whole salmon in the bucket. 🤑🤑💲💲💲💲💲💲🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🍌🍌🤡🤡I think your bulky waste is worth its weight in gold to others. Your organic bin is a luxury for the homeless. Another advantage doing it this way over just burying a fish carcass is that this goes a really long way because you can dilute it. Burying a fish carcass just puts those nutrients in that one localized area. Give it a shot, I think you’ll enjoy it!

@@OutdoorScienceDad If you have the time and patience, everything will be totally dissolved after 1 year. I checked mine at 6 months... and still had all the rib, back and pin bones and gill plates left. 6 months later? All liquid. A piece of advise if I may: use a good blender to blend the fish liquid and bones together. Comes out a lot smoother and doesn't clog the watering can as much. Cheers!
