Hello Malik ♥️ I so appreciate all the information you're putting out there!! I have been learning so much with you and I'm hoping someday I will be ready to get me some incredible plecos! The knowledge you share is just incredible and all anybody has to do is just subscribe to you♥️ You are an incredible fish keeper!! One thing I really am trying to learn and I don't completely understand is KH and pH I just know that what I'm using in my tanks is working... if that makes sense..the thing is I want to keep different fish so that's why it's so important for me to learn these things! I'm always scared of adjusting water parameters to suit the fish I want to keep! Now as I learn, I may feel more comfortable in doing that.. for now the main thing I've been focused on is making a planted aquarium... That has been my first step..I'm ready to learn more now so I can keep different fish... I'm not there yet but I'm studying ♥️ thank you for your incredible Channel. I appreciate you so much!! I enjoyed the video and I hope you have the most blessed day! 🙏🌿🐟🌿♥️

Hi Mary! You’re well on your way to understanding! As you know planted aquariums need active substrate... as do Caridina shrimps😉😉. Caridina don’t do well with KH and Plants consume KH (as will an active substrate). It’s pretty neat how things are all relative!

@@marypaigeflynn4512 🥰 Thanks Mary Paige! It’s definitely not something you can learn really quickly and unless you have a photographic memory... you also won’t learn some of it without making a few mistakes... so far I’ve been lucky 🍀 and met good people who have helped me when I needed it and now I’m doing what I can with what I know! I wish I had more energy to put out more short videos, it’s fun! But right now I enjoy helping others like Malik and Mark and Brian and Michelle 🥰

so even I barely understand the relationships between kh and ph .. best thing to do is to keep fish that can live in your own water .. most fish are adaptable to some degree but there are exceptions.. for most fish and fish keepers its better not to mess with any of these unless you are willing to make mistakes and learn some expensive lessons in the process! will try and make more videos to help you :)

@@AquaMalik thank you! Is your water naturally low in pH or do you use a buffer? Mine has always been steadily holding at 7.

What are your thoughts on API Ph Buffer Products? For those of us who aren’t fond of the idea of collecting rainwater especially when it’s winter and those of us who don’t want to set up a R/O for a 20 gallon tank? Would you have of a r/o filter product that can be spectate from your plumbing and be used for modifying small portions of water? Otherwise it’s back to my original question, does API water buffers work good enough that they won’t kill fish?

I’ve never tried it myself .. I just use oak leaves from neighbours tree in my tanks to soften the water .. works well highly effective .. adds beneficial tannins to the water also
