First Wash in 3 Years Plymouth SuperBird

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is a 1970 Plymouth Superbird with an automatic and white interior. It has a 440 Commando and has been sitting under a cover in a collection for a few years. It will soon be up for sale and requires a full paint correction as there are swirls, water spots, and brown tar stains that need to be cleaned and restored. By disaster vehicle restoration standards, this clearly has no dead animals, smelly, moldy, gross interiors, but for a super rare SuperBird it qualifies as a filthy full detail in my mind. There is a huge before and after satisfaction and gratifying reveal and drive so watch until the very end. We performed a paint correction with full compound and polishing. Once done we applied AMMO Reflex Pro to the exterior and Gelee Pro to the wheels for insane reflection and paint coating protection. For a full list of products visit www.ammonyc.com. Not necessary to wash one regularly if it sits in a climate controlled environment and is seldom driven. It’s ideal not to wash it if it’s not a regular driver or sitting in prolonged state of storage. Lots of areas on old cars where moisture will pool up and collect doing more harm than good. Some worse than others. I haven’t washed any of mine in two years . That said, I do keep mine dusted and polished year round, but I also don’t have a warehouse full of them to manage like this guy.

As a kid I loved the Dodge Daytona Charger and the Plymouth Superbird. I never saw a Daytona in the wild. Only racing on TV and later in car museums. But when my dad special ordered a new 1971 Plymouth Custom Suburban station wagon there was a Superbird in the showroom. And when I walked home from Jr. High there was a Superbird in the parking lot behind an apartment building. Sadly, I watched that car gradually get dented up. I wonder if it ever got restored or if it was eventually junked. Long Island, NY is tough on old cars.
