This kit was sent to me to review. I have never used UV resin before so I am not sure how this compares to other brands. I have used epoxy and polyester resin in the past and had issues with it being sticky if my studio was too cold or humid (I work in a basement in Maine) so having resin that was cured by the light was wonderful. The Let's Resin UV resin had no smell (I worked with the windows open tho) and was very easy to use. The kit had everything you needed to make several projects as well as tools you can use over and over again. I highly recommend it.
I was not paid to make this video but I am using an affiliate link and the kit was sent to me for free.
I think this is a great way to get into resin, below are pros and cons.
Pros:
no smell
Kit included everything you need but you can add your own things to it with no issue
Affordable
UV light is more reliable than waiting for a warm enough temperature and low enough humidity (a problem I had with other resins)
Cons:
I worked in a basement so it was not an issue but if you were crafting outdoors or near a sunny window you might expose the resin before you are ready.
You need to provide your own gloves and silicone mat or nonstick surface.

Thanks Lindsey! FYI Everyone!!!! If you have birds in your home be sure that they are no where near where you resin!!! Things that are odorless to us can still cause death in your birds. Same idea as Teflon and scented candles. Work in a different room, that is well ventilated and does not have an air intake return. I would be great broken if any of my bird parents suffered a tragedy. Love to you all!!!!! This project kit looks amazing!!!!

I love watching your videos and your reviews on products have helped me so much over the years: I knew what to expect and that way I could make good purchases and not waste my money on things that wouldn't work for me :) I know that this resin says that it is non toxic, but I was curious at what the safety sheet says. I have worked with resins that claim to be non toxic once they are fully cured, but they are not non-toxic in the uncured form or during the curing process and they release hazardous fumes. A lot of safety data sheets even say to use a respirator and work in a well ventilated area, but they don't express that on the box--which is what most people only read. I thought I would mention it, because a lot of people have expressed health issues due to using resin without the proper safety gear.

That kit is lovely! I've been UV resuming for a few years now and I have all the essentials otherwise I'd go for the kit. Warning, this particular craft is addictive! Lately I've been using free photo apps & collage apps on my phone, getting high quality photos done, cutting them down, coating them in UV resin and making jewellery, tags, ornaments etc with family photos. I'm also going to set the little prints in a journal cover mold I have but I need to but a larger UV light first. I use UV resin to coat my polymer clay things and also setting my mini art into things. Honestly, there is so much!❤️❤️ Fantastic video, thank you x Ooh, air bubbles, you can give it a short blast with a gentle heat gun - that pops them.

Thanks, I’ve been curious about UV resin. For epoxy resin, I use a seed warmer mat with a thermostat to cure it at a good temperature, and a little picnic food ‘tent’ for the cat hair ☺️. I have a similar situation that there are maybe 4 or 5 months a year when my craft room temperature is warm long enough to complete the cure.

I’m new to resin and I bought a bunch of supplies to use uv resin. In my research several resin users recommend using a respirator style mask with filters, because it can make you sick. I assume the people getting sick use resin often, but I didn’t want to take any chances and got a mask.

Just as an FYI, beach glass tends to disappear in resin 🫥 Any of the pieces that are hard to see in water also don’t show up in resin. I got a UV resin kit for my last birthday & then went beach combing later that day. Added beach glass to some pendant trays and discovered that the resin makes the pieces hard to see. Opaque glass would probably work but definitely not the frosted translucent kind.

Interesting. I started with UV resin, and moved into epoxy resin from there. I prefer epoxy resin for its cheapness, at least compared to UV resin. Although, I have to admit, bubbles are much more of a problem for epoxy resin. I don't sell pieces or anything, so epoxy resin is cheaper for me to fart around with. UV resin is fun and nearly instant, but so much more expensive. Cheaper UV resins have an issue with shrinkage, and also bending \ deforming during cure. Bonus: UV resin is less smelly, but as soon as I got my 1st batch of epoxy resin (Alumilite) I realized I needed to buy a respirator. Funny thing, since I now buy cheaper Shabebe brand epoxy, it smells WAY less toxic than the Alumilite stuff. Fun video.

I've seen all the resin crafting things available at Michaels and it sure looks tempting. I would like to make some earrings and have made some of my own earrings before (and sold some simple ones on Etsy years ago...Swarovski dangle pearl balls on simple silver findings.) In fact I think I still have some of those balls (FYI: Swarovski stopped selling their crystals and other jewelry elements to the gen public & even wholesalers last year. Boo hoo 😢.). But I think I'll be good and hold off on the resin bc I still have so many jewelry elements and other little crafting trinkets...and air dry & polymer clays & molds that I've been planning on using for like...forever. But I sure will enjoy watching you do your crafty thing with it. 👍😃

That was a brilliant video, I have been experimenting with the 2part resin but it’s a bit hit and miss so I have been looking forward to this post since you said you were going to post it. I must get some uv resin now but not until I have used up what I have. There is also photopolymer resin for making stamps which I would like to try but can’t find any in the uk. Thank you for your informative tutorial, it is very helpful.

Did you use pigments or mica in the resin? If it is opaque the light can't get through to cure it. What brand was it?

The blue tape isn't just packing tape. When you unroll packing tape, you get lines from where the adhesive bunches together where it stops. Those marks will end up leaving marks in your piece if you use it with resin. This kind if tape is supposed to eliminate or reduce that.

I've dyed satin ribbon with my alcohol markers before but like the Inktense idea. I don't have the blocks, but do have the 12 pencils and 12 pans. They should work as well, shouldn't they? Not gonna try resin, but if I was, I'd definitely use this one. I sure don't need another craft media!! Thanks for the video! Always a pleasure to watch you do anything.

I'm so glad I saw your video. I've been using a different brand that I really like, but I've been contemplating on getting a bott;le (or 2) of the Let's Resin UV resin to try. That way I can have 2 go to brands. This video convinced me to give it a go. Thanks. Your videos are always fun and informative.

The finished pendants and earrings are beautiful! I've been wanting to try something different from card making, and this looks like it would be so much fun to do with girlfriends on a Saturday afternoon. Easy to do, great results and lots of bang for your buck. Quick question: with several layers of resin, how heavy do the earrings seem to be? I'm off to Amazon to check it out. Thanks so much for the inspiring video, Lindsay!

Fun project! I'd never been tempted by resin before as epoxy is such a pain, but this looks very easy. Bonus is that you get a UV light so that I could even try gel nails. 🙂 What width of seam binding did you use? It's perfect with the floral pendants. Now I really need the Derwent ink blocks.
