He really did! He was exactly what the role of Chad was supposed to be and what the movie needed.

In Chad's defense, he was just in the wrong movie. If this was a bog-standard hillbilly horrors movie, like "Texas Chainsaw" or "The Hills Have Eyes," then Chad is EXACTLY the kind of guy you would want on your team. And that's sort of the main plot point -- he thought he was in that kind of a movie, but he was mistaken. Chad is probably the best example of "wrong-genre savvy" in cinematic history.

Idk if I’d want him on my team. From the moment trouble started it wasn’t about survival for Chad, it was about killing the hillbillies. He refused to seek any help and bullied the others into getting themselves killed. And then of course he went full psycho at the end. So idk. The popped collar is a big red flag.

Strongly disagree. Chad is a graduate of the Zapp Branigan, "send our troops over a rampart of our own dead" school of tactics and leadership.

As someone that lives in the woods, this movie gave me a complex about college kids. That was fun, I enjoyed it. Good job Kat.

Supposedly they have a script for a sequel and Alan and Tyler just need to find a time in their schedules to film it.

I absolutely love how Chad's collar gradually becomes bigger and more and more "popped" the Chaddier he becomes throughout the movie. Couple of times by the end of the movie, it's reminded me of something like a college kid version of a mail coif/gorget

I've watched at least 12 different reviews of this movie, and every single reviewer has derisively mentioned Chad's popped collar as part of their dislike for him. It makes me wonder when a popped collar transformed from a cool fashion statement to a visual clue for a unlikeable person. I knew someone decades ago(circa 1980) with a highly inflated ego of himself, who always had the collar of his coat popped. The irony was how derisive and disgusted he acted towards anyone else who popped their collar, as if it was HIS fashion statement alone, that only he could pull off, and no one else was allowed to copy it. Makes me wonder if there is some universal connection with popped collars and those egotistical, narcissistic maniacs who have an overwhelming emotion and mental need to look "cool".

4:48 "you can't say that with a popped collar" Chad just pops that collar worse and worse as the film progresses.

I have to appreciate how laser focused you are in your videos when there is scary/gruesome happening on screen. When a lot of people are looking away or covering their eyes, you are locked in. LOL

I was working at a movie rental store when this came out. Man oh man, my boss and I had no hopes for this one the moment we saw the cover. My old Korean boss took a copy home and came back the next day telling EVERYBODY to rent and watch it. I couldnt believe it, this old man who hates horror (his favorite film is Amadeus) is telling people they need to watch it? It was from that day on I took his film suggestions seriously.

"We like Dale" Absolutely. One of the most loveable characters from any movie or TV show I've ever seen.

Hi Kat! I've only been a subscriber for the last week, but I love the energy you bring to these horror reactions. "Tucker and Dale" is a fun (slightly dark) take on the cabin in the woods type of horror movie. Another one is "Cabin in the Woods." I think you have seen enough horror movies by now to recognise many of the tropes it references, and although horrifically bloody, it is also a lot of fun. Have a great Christmas!

Kat: DO NOT -- I REPEAT -- DO NOT WATCH "CABIN IN THE WOODS" YET!!! It's highly reliant on watching at least a few more horror classics. You've seen a couple of them, so far, but you need to see a few more to really get the full impact of the film, which is full of references and callbacks to other movies in the horror genre! Younger viewers who jump into Cabin in the Woods as one of their first horror movies are missing SO much! The background details will absolutely be more deeply appreciated when you've seen more horror films from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Cabin in the Woods is a love-letter to horror, and one of my favorites, but watching early in your experience is like watching the last season of a TV series without watching the previous seasons.

Watch only the last season, or the first season or even s1e1 then the last season of something? lol Apparently they don't have time to watch some of these shows etc... Dale absolutely is a cutie. Woke up giggling to doggie smooches to immediately worrying about his love interest. If anyone deserves love, it’s Dale

Apparently Tucker was meant to die towards the end of the movie, but it didn't go down well at the test screening, so they changed the ending and Tucker survived.

The song during the credits is "I dug my grave and walked away" by Mass Undergoe and it's really awesome. I'm not sure how well it actually fits the tone of the movie though, as the subject matter; at least as I interpret it, is about overcoming depression stemming from trying to be someone you're not, by accepting who you actually are.

So, since your channel is dedicated to horror movies and you like the actor who plays Chad, I've got a recommendation for you. He plays a supporting role, similar in character to Chad, in a great horror movie called Ginger Snaps. It's fantastic.

I believe she might have forgotten that the opening scene was actually the end scene and it definitely set up some more terror times possible from Chad (the inhaler).(that’s what I’m naming him, Chad the Inhaler, like “impales”/uses an inhaler, get it?)

The reporter chick from the beginning was the yellow Lightspeed Rescue power ranger and the black dude that got set on fire was the red Spd power ranger

Man you have one of those smiles that lights up your whole face and makes everyone else want to smile with you. Enjoyed your reaction very much, new to the channel but will subscribe.

Don't forget that the entire movie takes place three days in the past. That was post-massacre Chad in the opening scene.

Watching the vid now, but I got to say you got some of the best reactions to these flicks. Reminds me of how how scared or how much laughing I did when I saw some of these flicks the first time. If you dig this type of horror comedy, The Final Girls is another damn good flick that has a lot of heart to the main girl in the flick. Anyway, keep that smile of yours a going and keep on with the reactions :)

Great reaction!! One of THE funniest horror comedies ever. If you want another horror comedy to react to "Cabin in the Woods" (2011) EXCELLENT movie, GREAT cast, great twists and turns, funny! (92% on Rottentomatoes). Here's a suggestion for a reallllll scary one - Host (2020) 99% on Rottentomatoes. Im not sure if I recommended this before, but the non-spoiler synopsis is - a few friends gather for a video call where they do a séance with a practitioner. Of course things...don't go as planned. SUPER SCARY, you'll do that screamy thing you do a lot. Thanks!!

I have actually stayed at places like their summer home here in Alberta. It was actually some great times! You don't spend much time inside during the summer when there is so much too do outdoors there! As a fellow Canuck, you might appreciate that this Canada was heavily involved with the movie.

I've watched a lot of reaction videos and Kat is by far my favorite.

Awesome pick! Great cast! Hilarious! One of my favorite horror comedies! I forgot two power rangers are in this one.

'sweet sweet sweet... leg injury', must admit that got me. I was like 'yes? yes? yes? oh...' lol. Also, in terms of a chainsaw, a metal pipe like that would wreck a chainsaw (although it would more than likely slip down the pipe and into the guys hand and chainsaw blades immediately stop the moment you take your finger off the trigger so technically he could have caught it just fine.

I bought and watched this just the other day.... I've yet to see any reactors not absolutely love this fun horror/comedy ❤ 😱 🎥 😆 "You guys ughh goin campin"? HAHAHA

Of all the movies I've ever seen, this has to be in my top 3 or 5 of movies I didnt know much about before checking it out. I only saw this originally because 1 of the actors told me I should. If he hadnt recommended it, I likely still wouldnt have seen it. Such a fun movie. I asked both Alan & Tyler at different times if they ever considered a sequel, and they said they have talked about it, but schedules havent worked. On an unrelated note. If the show Superman & Lois ever needs someone to play Lois when she was younger, they should call you.... you look like you could be related, even down to the facial mannerisms.

I think this is one of the most underrated movies because the comedic deaths are hilarious and funny, but the moral of the story is we have two points of different misunderstandings, and that a misunderstanding can lead to a whole complex narrative

The actor who portrays Chad also plays a role in a film called Ginger Snaps, it's worth a viewing I think you'll enjoy it.

Love watching her expressions during the movie, almost as much fun as the movie itself 😆

oh this was a fun bop. fun cast and great twist of tropes oh the b&w footage at the beginning was a reporter and her cameraman running into chad after allie, dale, and tucker escaped

Dale: How's he even walking right now, Tuck?! Tucker: Looks like he's going to walk it off. He's goin to be fine! that is my favorite line in this movie. Takes me back to playing Baseball. Get hit with the ball? Just walk it off. LOL

The misleading, and the Don't judge a book by it's cover is amazing on this movie hahahahahaha

This move is a gem. It was also one of those learning moments for me where I realized I need to give things a chance; I put off seeing this for years because I thought it sounded dumb, but I saw a review that finally made me give it a try and low and behold, I loved it.

I really didn't notice this at first, but Chad's face being half burnt/injured is like a representation (or ripoff...however you want to view it, lol) of the Batman villain Two-Face. A little on-the-nose if you ask me, but the movie is kind of meant to be ridiculous, so they get the pass. 😂

Love this underrated film. I came for the Alan Tudyk, and stayed for the clever premise and execution. Also, you MUST watch Cabin in the Woods; it's a classic horror setup like this, but it...goes places. Also some good comedy in there, and a young Chris Hemsworth to top it off. Highly recommended!

Lol...I love your mannerisms and your dry, humorous asides....one horror movie Id recommend would be " Grave Encounters"...I watched this flick alone in my home late at night, when it was over I switched off the light to go to sleep and I felt,..I wouldnt say scared,...but......uncomfortable lol....

Hiya Kat ☺️ Not usually a fan of comedy horror but this one works very nicely. I think with this kind of sub genre in the horror category you either go way over the top or subtle comedy to pull it off and the later works best. Nice use of the classic comedy of errors/misunderstanding/slapstick tropes to pull it all together with a good little underlaying story with the appropriately named Chad to bring us full circle. The gore scenes are quick and punchy with some great call backs to other classic horror films as well which was nice and clever to see. Glad you enjoyed this one and another great reaction! I look forward to the next upload ☺️👍🏼

Hey Kat, I really loved your reaction to this, the Exorcist and The Thing. You oughta check out An American Werewolf in London (Horror/comedy), maybe Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the first one 1974) and some consider the Sixth Sense to be a horror. Are you ever gonna get away from horror? I'd love to see your reaction to a whole wide range of movies. I personally get bored with horror. But keep doing your great reactions.

You gotta see Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. It’s a great sort of horror comedy/found footage documentary about a slasher killer.

Lady, you are in a horror movie. The opening shot is on your left in the back, bathed in a eerie red light. If that thing was around me and it moved, even just a little because it fell a bit I would have crapped my pants.
