    While Tobin Bell 100% deserves *all* the praise for his portrayal of John over this franchise, we can't let Shawnee Smith as Amanda go unappreciated. This movie made me fall in love with her character all over again, and really drives home where she was coming from in Saw 3. Can't wait to see where this series goes from here.

    I had heard there was a deleted scene at the end before John, Amanda, and Carlos left the warehouse. Apparently, after Cecilia screams "John" with her head in the porthole, John, Amanda, and Carlos look back at her. John then whispers something in Carlos' ear and Carlos looks to Cecilia and tells her, "Game over". I guess it was cut because they didn't want to make it seem like Carlos enjoyed what was going on.

    That's true from a quality standpoint but keep in mind how much these movies made, even the bad ones. Almost all of them made significantly more than their budget, since like other horror movies, they're relatively low budget. I think Spiral is the only box office bomb, and that may have been because it was a spin-off. Just speaking about the perspective that studios would also consider.

    a lot of people wonder why her hair is like that but if you recall back when john re-introduces jill to amanda as proof of "being healed" her hair is almost exactly like that. her hair is a big indicator of whether she is relapsing/losing herself (long hair like her pre-bear trap and movie three) vs when she's trusting of john/"healed" (saw x and that flash back). in saw 2 her hair is grown out a little and wild again which shows her wavering state of mind

  • @kurapikakurta808
    @kurapikakurta8088 ай бұрын

    35:27 The reason John was so caring toward the kid was because he was at this point still grieving over the loss of his son; Gideon, that Jill lost from Cecil. Since that was his first trap and this movie takes place just after the first it would make sense for him to still grieve over the loss.

    This takes place about a few weeks after 1 but sometime before 2. This one is very different. Its more story and emotional focused this time and I liked that. Even the musical score is different. It sounds more calmer, warmer and hopeful. Which I'd never thought I would ever hear in a Saw film. The traps are also cool but simple. I can't really decide which ones I liked the most. All of them were kind of wild. X also made me like Amanda more than I did before. 3 and 6 really ruined her character for me but I'm glad that I'm kind of starting to like her again. The writers have come to admit that it was a mistake killing off John early on in Saw 3 and it shows.

    I love that this movie is about John accepting his fate. His doctor told him to try and accept it because he'll feel at peace but John is understandably not willing to just let go. He is so weighed down with this knowledge and there's a very blue color tone to the scenes. He then tried to bargain but ending up being scammed because he was grasping at straws. While he's in this hopeful state the colour palette feels warmer. Then when he's hugging and telling Amanda that she has to come to turns with his death he does so because he's finally accepted it himself after this experience. Then at the very end he's actually smiling deviously, enjoying his "work" in his own twisted way and the colour felt blue again but brighter this time. Just like his doctor said - if you accept it, you'll have an easier time with it and it's he had taken that to heart he might have seen through their scam to begin with and thus been at peace.😮

    This was one of my favorite movies of the year and is in my top 3 of the franchise some facts from behind the camera All the mexican characters are played by actual mexican people, Pauletter Hernandez, Octavio Hinojosa and Renata Vaca play Tina, Mateo and Gabriela. Diego is played by Japanese/mexican actor Joshua Okamoto, who was born in saitama japan but moved to mexico with his parents as a kid. the actor that plays the victim of the eye trap is called Isan Beomhyun Lee, who is a south korean actor, and it looks like the scene was also filmed in mexico.

    The leader of the scammers? Her dad was mentioned in SAW 6 and unlike his awful daughter he is a real doctor who practices privately out of his home. Sadly he was not taking anymore clients at the time John was dying from his cancer. Dude could have saved more than one life if he did though since we saw John consider retiring from being Jigsaw when he thought he was cured. So many innocents could have been saved, and heck even guilty people who had a possibility of changing into better people if given a second chance.

    i saw this movie in 4dx (where the seats move around and they spray water at you etc) and it was SOOOO funny the moments when they decided to spray the water. also they only have one smell for the scent part and it's this weird unidentifiable chemical smell that sort of drifts in from the front of the theatre and i was right at the back so i didn't smell it for a good few minutes after it was Released, the whole experience was just hilarious and so much fun. this movie rules. also when i stayed for the mid credits scene i literally laughed aloud when the Person showed up and a few people turned and looked at me lmao. one of the best movie experiences ive ever had

    Saw X is truly the return of Saw. Cecilia is by far the most hateful and best villain in the series, and we have never seen one of John's victims be an actual villain like her. Bad people yes, but not a VILLAIN. Mirroring his views, reflecting all of his bad things back to him. Everything she did that he judges her for, he has done as well. Giving people false hope: Mateo, but mostly Valentina doing the task they were told to do but only needing just a few more seconds until they won. Valentina showed her will to live more than anyone ever has in any trap before! Cecilia putting a child in a trap and killing parents which leads to orphaned children: John did and will do the same in the future, literally ordering Zepp to Kill Lawrence's Wife AND DAUGHTER for his test, and later on kidnapping Corbett and killing both Jeff and Lynn, leaving her an orphan, while also locking her in a room with limited oxygen (apparently according to him at the end of Saw 3), and of course Daniel Matthews as well in Saw 2. Cecilia is also a great turning point for Amanda, being where her belief in John's methods finally changes. She does not believe that Cecilia deserves a second chance, or anything for that matter. Those beliefs only get stronger later on after meeting Xavier and Eric Matthews. I cannot wait to see where Saw 11 will go, chances are very high we'll see Cecilia again and delve further into Amanda's changed beliefs and her turning into the killer she ended up as!

    Saw x i was very impressed the concept was simple and appeals to every saw fan.. they flipped it.. the story line is simple.. I live the less is more factor. How realistic how many scammers are there in the world where they cheat innocent people and lives are ruined. I wish people would learn something from these saw movies .. learn from your mistakes to improve your lives others .. imagine what it would be like to he in them traps yourself. Love Tobin Bell. Legend hes up there with Michael Myers ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ in the theater this should have been in 3d 10/10 movie for me.

    @1:20 personally me believe is that this movie is the "Rocky Balboa versus Rocky 5." The "Star Trek 6 versus Star Trek 5." This movie would be the "Saw X versus Spiral" accepting of course that this is set as a prequel, but regardless of that if you ask someone what was the "last" movie of SAW to-date they will say Saw X, and not Spiral.

    Gabriela's cute as fuck 😍. I really wished the writing was better and she wasn't murdered like that. I was hoping Gabriela would come back in the end and save Amanda forming this sister bond with her. I was peeved the POS killed Gabriela and I was even more peeved that the POS lived like WTF is that writing? I felt very unsatisfied. I did LOVE the mid credit's scene with Hoffman but this movie imo needed more Hoffman. I still believe he's still alive in present day. Definitely the most disappointing third acts and one of the most unsatisfying ones. The best part of this movie was the mid credits scene. I'd put this maybe above Saw V and Spiral. But that's it. "Out of all the men to cheat, you pick John Kramer? That's what I call...EPIC BAD LUCK!"

  • @LordofFullmetal

    They killed Gabriela because their primary concern when writing was not "How physically attractive does the audience think this character is", and they left the villain alive so they can do a sequel if they want to. Your comment is exactly why the fans aren't allowed to write the movies lmao.

    I expected the Hoffman box swerve you were talking about but John actually being thrown a curveball was cool for a change Also You had it right. There were two collars The only difference was it was actually supposed to be John and Amanda. Nobody else that i know of caught that That was the actual curveball they would have easily been able to communicate and she could withstand more than Carlos. My personal theory is that Cecilia is a messed up spin on the Catholic story of Saint Cecilia. In her story she converted her husband on their wedding night because an angel heard her prayer that she would remain a virgin and he saw the angel visiting her. Together they converted many people to Catholicism, and when the Roman King heard of this, he was pissed and demanded that they bow to him. They refused his demands by saying the only King they would bow to is God. They were sentenced to execution by torture, Cecilia survived two of the three execution attempts and she was left to die until the people she had converted found her on the streets of Rome and took her back to her house to slowly die of the sword gashes on her neck. She survived three more days, in that time she was still converting people, singing songs and praising God's grace. The Cecilia in Saw X and hopefully Saw XI is very selfish, steals from people lying that she can cure them, and sacrifices Parker for her own life. Total opposite of the Saint.

    Everybody loves a b*tch villain we all want to die. Synnøve Macody Lund as Dr. Cecilia Pederson was fantastic in her role. Never has a character deserved their comeuppance as much as her. I knew immediately Parker Sears was in on it because he didn't look as ill as John when he arrived at the factory wanting his money back (and he didn't cough once) :) This is the level of expectation fans have for all future Saw movies. The bar has been set. Solid 8.6/10 from me.
