Leigh Whannell: Wanna see me create one banger of a movie? Leigh Whannell one year later: *Wanna see me do it again?*
“You’ll find your son in a safe in secure place.” Why did I just now catch that.
One avid Saw fan had this youtube video that points out some clues in the movie about the twist. He said that if you look at the scenes with eric in that Jigsaw hide-out you can see items that are also in the house where his son is locked in. A subtle hint that the videofeed is not live. Those items in the videos are already taken out of that locked house and stored in the hideout because that "game" is already over.

I didn't notice that
One of the things I like of Saw (Saw 1-7 mainly) is that more than a saga of movies it feels like one long TV Show with all this connections, and returning characters and flashbacks. That's how I like to see the main saga (not counting Jigsaw and Spiral as part of it)

jigsaw partially suffered from being thoroughly seperated. also people expected to find out how jigsaw was still running around. finally the asesthetics were kind of off. I'm ok with jigsaw because more john cramer is better than no john cramer. but i get why people don't like it
SAW franchise reviews in 2023? Love it.
The kid will also be familiar to you if you've seen SCRE4M. He was one of the movie geeks, the one that wore the camera headpiece streaming daily life on the Internet.
Sometimes people make fun of the characters’ decisions in this one, but like remember that they’re all being poisoned by a gas attacking their nervous system
"Inside the device in front of you are two antidotes" - And Obi went for the third antidote. Jigsaw knew he would go for the third, that is why the devil only could help him out. I love it!
Oh yeah dude, we love the Saw franchise mate. One of the best, consistently good series with great, complex stories with a nice little twist.
13:55 Funny thing about this game. All of those needles are actual needles that they changed the tips to be rubber so it wouldn't actually hurt anyone. However, during shooting they realised a couple of the tips weren't changed and they had to go through the entire pit to see if all 120,000+ needles were rubber again
You know, I saw this movie so many times and I just realized how genius the little scene is where Jigsaw asks for water. "Could you kindly get me a glass of water?" First of, he is mocking Eric. He specifically says "Kindly" cause Eric is not a kind person, let alone a kind cop. This is like a stereotype of interrogation where you ask for a glass of water. He is making fun of Eric using his condition and age and is mocking the angry and corrupt cop. Second: He is actually helping Eric here in his own twisted way. He wants Eric to "waste time" so he has something to do to help bring the clock down a bit. But in Jigsaw's mind, this is another test as well. The whole point is, can Eric be patient and not let the anger get to him. Even something like the glass of water is Jigsaw testing Eric to see if, maybe if he can get the clock down maybe a minute or two or if he refuses and keep the situation up as it is.
There’s still a few good Saw-movies left for you to watch, and interesting back-stories to learn about. I liked most of them, except for maybe the last couple. But they were still worth watching to learn more of the story.

Yeah i love them up until Saw 3D the Final Chapter which wasn't actually the final chapter to the surprise of no one. I do think Jigsaw is underrated. Say what you want about that one, but at least it's not mindnumbingly boring like Spiral.
@findlestick

@@TomGallagherSuperboyBeyond Yeah, Spiral was definitely underwhelming. It was the only one that didn’t seem to add anything to the series. It was just “well, here’s more Saw for the sake of it”.

I really liked this series. Although the violence is cringe inducing to me, the great writing is what intrigues me more than anything. Having seen the original in theaters, people like me had to wait a whole year in between each new release for more of the story. So it's really awesome how reactors can binge watch everything in one night, if desired. It's worth seeing the entire franchise through, in my honest opinion. Otherwise you'll never get answers to the lingering unrevealed details.

It's been almost 15 years since I watched this movie and that scene makes me feel sick to my stomach every time I think about it. Had to look away during it today. But now you've got me considering rewatching the series
I hope you do the whole series!! there are definitely ebbs and flows in quality, but I love them all for their own reasons. the overarching story works much better in this franchise than most long-running horror ones. please please keep going!!

I think the needle pit scene is not as bad once you see the behind-the-scene on it and that's coming from someone with a fear of needles. Eagerly awaiting your reaction to 3, 4, and 5 if only as a stepping stone to 6.

It was still actually scary to hear about it. They manually replaced 120,000 syringe needle with fiber optic tips, so those were safe as long as they didn't mess up. Except they accidentally drop some real syringes into the pit, and had to stop filming and find them before continuing. I can't imaging trusting the pit, if there was a chance that there was 1 real needle in there.
Bro, 6 minutes in and this guy instantly says "Check the back of your heads." You would probably survive in these movies, good sir. lol

Did you mean to say "What a prick" during the needle pit? Lol
Watching this movie after knowing the plot twist makes watching it so much more fun especially when it’s someone who hasn’t seen it before

I've never wanted to see the killer kill someone as much as Xavier. Omg...what a bag of s**t!!! Love these movies though
While Saw is the movie I prefer to rewatch and my personal favorite, I have to acknowledge that from a filmmaking perspective Saw II is probably the best of all the movies. Mainly because of two reasons. 1. Tobin Bell’s performance. While he does a good job in saw he’s not on screen that much but here he really gets a chance to shine and he knocks it out of the park. 2. The story flows much better in Saw II. As much as I love the first one, the police storyline is kind of shoehorned in and feels pretty clunky most of the time but in Saw II, the cops are watching the story unfold the same time we are (well, we’re led to believe that until the ending.). And with Daniel and Eric’s complicated relationship being shown in the first few minutes, we get more invested because we want this father to find his son P.S. You do eventually find out what happens to Dr. Gordon, it’s revealed in Saw 3D and it’s pretty unsatisfying in my opinion. It took so long to reveal because Cary Elwes was involved with a lawsuit with the producers and lionsgate because of his salary for the first movie. It was eventually settled out of court but Cary Elwes chose not to be involved with any sequels until Saw 3D.
Yeah, after SAW II I decided anxiety and movies are not what I would call fun. I don't like the anxiety that comes with scary movies. I get enough of it already! 😂
Great reaction! Can't wait to see you react to all the other Saw movies. Well at least up to Saw 7. After that they changed too much, and I gave up on them.

6:31 Movie over! hahaha I haven't even finished the reaction, this is gonna be hilarious Yup, was great and the movies do get worse but I honestly watched up til the 8th and played the game on 360 year and years ago
Saw iii is amazing too. All of them until six wich is one of the best for most of the fans. Saw V is a little weak but is still good. The worse is the final chapter: Saw VII .
My SAW List: 1. SAW 2. SAW 2 3. SAW 5 (I enjoyed the trap plot) 4. Jigsaw (I liked having a killer who was actually vengeful and put actual bad people into the traps) 5. SAW 3 6. SAW 4 7. SAW 6 8. Spiral 9. SAW 7 (the director was definitely going through a divorce or marital issues and it became too much like a cheesy slasher)

The only bad Saw movies are Spiral and Jigsaw. V and 3D aren't as good as the rest of the movies but they're still important to the story and fun. I know you already watched them all, just saying
In all fairness, the kid's dad literally just told him he doesn't want him in his life. Which is not something you should ever say to your child. The kid was clearly expressing that he sensed a relationship problem with his dad, and his dad's response was "I'm not interested in fixing it". Of course he's angsty! I feel like you give kids too much crap sometimes, and it does bother me a little. They're kids, they can't help it. Their brains literally are not developed enough for them to know any better. You were one once, too. We all had to be there in order to become adults, so I feel like we kinda owe it to them to cut them some slack.
What I like about saw, it's that jigsaw didn't kill noone. People didn't had appreciation to their life, jigsaw put them to the test, all what they need to do it's sacrifice part of their body, they would still alive
