It's a safe assumption. When you're unconscious but alive, your muscles still work. But if your eyelids can't even close, you're probably dead.

Yes, during the US screenings last year - he was asked "whether there was any plan to kill the mom?" He said he didn't want to end the movie on a sad note, and wanted the audience to feel happy towards the end.

@@imshubhajit Did the director course correct the story at some point because story wise everyone assumed the mom died in the beginning and then was surprised she was alive in the end. So story wise everyone thought the mother died and Bheem was going to get the girl back no matter what.
