I think another reason why the “NO!” scene is so badass is due to that fact that apes are so similar to humans. The biggest thing that separates us from them is speech so seeing an ape shout “NO!” kinda breaks the barrier of us from them so it’s super shocking and surreal.

@@hihowareya4004I mean they already can be taught to have full conversations just not to speak. There’s evidence that some Gorillas and Chimpanzee that were taught sign, and to recognize words by picture can 100 percent understand a great big chunk of what their human caretakers say to them. I think that this is super cool. ( it would be cool if they had the vocal structure to form words in any human language though I agree).

I always admired how Caesar never wanted to kill the humans in this trilogy, rather just break free from their rule. I never saw it as him being weak, but as Caesar actually being the bigger individual. Caesar was a great leader because he kept his eye on the actual goal, which was for his kind to be free from human rule. He only killed when it was absolutely necessary and he always did his best to not make things personal. In Dawn of the Planet of the Apes when Caesar and the other apes rencountered the humans he even tried to make peace with them rather than go to war, because he knew how devastating war could be for both the humans and the apes. A wise leader always searches for peace if it is possible rather than solve problems through violence. Caesar didn’t force the apes to hate the human race, he didn’t ask them to kill every single one of them (like Koba), he just thought about what was best for his kind. Caesar knew in order to be a higher species you must be better than the ones who abused you. I saw the trailer for the 4th movie and I’m so hyped for it! Tho it seems some apes have learned nothing from the humans and are beginning to act just like they did after becoming the dominant species. Hopefully this knew character (who I believe is named Noa) will take after him and follow in his footsteps.

I had my first racist incidents in the 1st and 2nd grade. I was in a school where all the other black kids was in special education. I was told I drank vanilla milk because I was “trying to be white” and was bullied every day. It came to a head when I wrote a note to one of the boys in my class telling asking if he liked me. When he didn’t answer I asked him to his face. He said he didn’t. I asked him why. After thinking about it he said, “because I look like a monkey”. When I got angry and cursed me one of the kids out, my mouth was washed out with soap. A couple of years later when I tried to talk about it I was told, the school wasn’t racist, it was predominantly white”. I never mentioned it again for 15 years later. As I was talking about it with a coworker water started dripping on my face. I thought it was the air conditioner but it wasn’t. Then I thought maybe it was a leak in the ceiling. There wasn’t. I was crying as I was talking and completely unaware of it. Hearing you talk about being sensitive about the talk of apes, made me realize I am too for the same reason. Speaking up takes some of the sting out of being dehumanized. Thanks for sharing.

If they’ve spent a large amount of their life in a testing lab they will not know how to survive in the wild, Best they could hope for is to be reformed to a sanctuary

3:32 Not all the apes are chimps, Caesar, Bright Eyes (Caesar's mom), Cornelia (Caesar's eventual wife), and Rocket (the older, more hairless ape) specifically are chimpanzees, but others like Buck, Luca, Koba, and Maurice are all not chimps. Buck and Luca obviously being gorillas, Maurice is an orangutan, Koba is a bonobo ape, which are genetically the most similar to humans, even more so than chimpanzees. (Which is ironic since bonobo's are typically much friendlier to humans given the genetic similarities, and Koba absolutely despises humanity, while chimps are typically more aggressive and Caesar actually likes humans and rather quite admires some humans.)

I rewatched this movie yesterday and i noticed something sorta neat So Caesar is a chimp. Chimps in nature have a war like society, and will brutalize other chimp groups or even their own. Caesar had a human and empathetic upbringing. Koba is a Bonobo, they have very little want or need for violence and they more than likely seek to find peace. Koba had a traumatic upbringing, some behind the scenes commentary is that Koba was a circus ape that was abused and then taken in to be a test subject, being sticked and poked, further amplifying his hatered of humans. It really us a nature versus nurture thing going for Rise and Dawn. I know its not really need to know knowledge but i found it very interesting.

If it makes you feel better if the apes were to harm anyone the business would need to be shut down and the apes would either be put down or relocated so it’s better for business and the majority of animals in the establishment Hope this helps

This is an amazing trilogy, Caesar💚 is the best!!! ...love him to bits, hes a way better leader then most human leaders today. Hope u react to the other two.Caesar only bit the finger, it was still attached so that mean neighbour was lucky, the finger wasn't off though. Notice after all hes been through, Caesar has no first instinct or intention to kill humans or hurt people, just to free his apes. He never even killed the nasty Draco, he killed himself out of stupidity. Also the apes didnt kill any innocents, they just trashed a few offices and scared people tbf. You can see how heartbroken Caesar was to reject his human dad after he turned his back, its clear how hard it was for him & he continued using his window as his symbol on street signs afte r escaping. I always root for the apes, animals are true to their nature, & we betray ours. Also, Caesar can be infected again, so he also get even smarter when inhaling the 1.13 virus too, plus Caesar is way more intelligent since he had a proper human childhood education from Will.

He can speak because he was born with the genetic difference through the mother, not just the change due to exterior application
