The fact that when Serizawa touches GodZ for the last time and says " Goodbye Old Friend " in Japanese , which wasnt actually planned in the movie but the director didn't remove it becoz it went with the flow , still gives me chills..

I’m not a diehard Godzilla fan but I think this movie is amazing

Fun fact: Just like how Godzilla's beam has a cool name "Atomic Breath", his powerful energy pulse attack is called "Nuclear Pulse". Also Ghidorah's beams are called the "Gravity Beams", and sometimes he can actually manipulate gravity with them, he actually once picked up Godzilla with them in one of the older movies Another fun fact: both Godzilla's and Mothra's theme in the movie are new adaptations of their themes in the older movies

A lot of people get confused as to where that Ghidora head came from. It was the one Godzilla ripped off in the water..

Fun fact: The left head (right head from the front) of King Ghidorah is nicknamed Kevin from the director and fans because he always gets distracted and picked by the middle head. During their first appearance in the snow, after they killed the soldiers, Kevin eats the bodies and the middle one bites his head. Kevin even investigates the soldiers shooting at him and the middle one is annoyed.

True Godzilla fans love this movie, the Monsterverse is just as awesome as any japanese Godzilla.

The thing that annoyed me the most about the mom wasn't as much as saving the world by destroying it. It was fact she was plenty willing to let billions die but wouldn't be willing to sacrifice her own daughter. When literal billion families would be killed just no empathy for them. Making her a massive hypocrite pretending she is holy than though attitude for the "greater good".

The sequence of Rodan is one of my favorites. I just love the arial battle he has with the jets, displaying his strength and intelligence to take them all down.

That maneuver where he spins to use his wings to take out some of the jets was absolutely epic. Rodan kinda stole the show with that entire sequence, loved it.

I still remember the feeling seeing the first fight between Ghidorah and Godzilla, then the fight with Radon (Rodan) and Ghidorah, **and** the final battle in the city that solidified Godzilla's title as King of Monsters -- rewatching it with you guys reignited my chills, this movie is a love letter to kaiju fans

Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah are also Toho creations. King of the Monsters is the name of the 1956 "Americanized" version of Gojira. The Oxygen Destroyer and Dr. Serizawa's sacrifice are references to the original Gojira film. Godzilla starts at 355 feet tall, then grows to 393 feet tall. Ghidorah stands at an imposing 521 feet tall and has a nearly 1100 foot wingspan

The crazy thing about Rodan? The first time he shared screen time with Godzilla, they fought each other and only ended up ‘making peace’ and working together thanks to Mothra. And from there, Rodan was usually an ally to Godzilla…but always the one with the loosest morals in regard to how many humans end up killed in collateral damage compared to the explicitly benevolent and protective Mothra and largely indifferent to humanity Godzilla.

After my disappointment with "Godzilla"(mainly due to Godzilla being in only 15 minutes, the focus on soldier boy rather than Bryan Cranston and such), this was a breath of fresh air. The entire movie is respectful of the classic films and introduces bits to the present audience. The three heads of Ghidorah are done by different mo cap people with different personalities. Their names are Ichi(One), Nii(Two)and Kevin(guess which one Kevin is.) Rodan was always my favourite of the Toho monsters and I was so glad he got focus in this(and survived the movie). His ability to destroy with his supersonic flight was always epic. The Oxygen Destroyer was from the original "Godzilla"(1954), which was used to kill the first Godzilla. Hearing Charles Dance say "Long live the king..." just makes me see him as Tywin Lannister again. King Ghidorah/Monster Zero is fairly consistently an alien and either fights for/alongside alien Kaiju in other movies. The bit with the "generations", with the twins and their parents being from Monarch is a mythology gag. Mothra of the original is tended to by two dimininuitive(say finger high)women named the Shobijin, priestesses. They usually summon Mothra using their song(which you hear the musical rendition of when Mothra emerges from her cocoon on the waterfall). In the caverns where Godzilla is recovering, there is a large skeleton with a spiked carapace you can see just as the nuke goes off. This is Anguirus, a regular companion and ally to big G. Godzilla going "meltdown"was an event in "Godzilla vs Destroyah"(the current Godzilla's internal organs began to burn out and the people were desperate to contain it, as if he blew, he would destroy Tokyo). Clarissa: He is SO HOT. (Tim, you have competition. "Godzilla vs Timothee:the New Empire", coming 2025.) The novel says that Kong ignored Ghidorahs call to join him and instead fought against Skullcrawlers which were being drawn to Ghidorah's "army". The final shot of the monsters bowing to Godzilla as he roars is absolutely epic. One thing you can also notice in the credits is it mentions an egg that might be connected to Mothra(Mothra usually is reborn some way before long. In the early "Godzilla vs Mothra", Godzilla kills her partway thtough, only for her egg to hatch twin larva that fight Godzilla instead.)

Honestly Godzilla having less than 20 Minutes of Screentime had been a standard and normal thing at this point since it was also like that at old Goji Movies

Serizawa in the original movie died with the oxygen destroyer, taking the secret with him, too terrible to recreate; Man already created a monster (Gojira), he had to stop from creating more.

when Godzilla does that explode thing at the end you can hear Mothras roar, and you can see her wings during the explosion as well (also Ghidorah‘s head is really important in the next movie;D)

King Ghidorah and Godzilla will always be my fav duo to fight. Along side Mothra being the queen of course. Well there are some change since the old movies, they did a great job with Ghidorah and Mothra. Mabe I'm just nostalgic but when I seen Mothra spread her wings under the waterfall, I was teary. Seeing her back on the big screen after decades was wonderful. And she never looked so beauitiful before. It was always kind of a drab looking creature before.

I love that "Bow down or die" look Godzilla gives Rodan as the other Titans gather around him after delivering the kill shot on the last Ghidorah head with his Atomic Breath. Also, I LOVE that they recycled the Toho Studios Godzilla theme music and roars for this movie. And the male soldier that said "I think it's got somethin' to do with his goddamn head growin' back." is O'Shea Jackson Jr., the son of rapper/actor Ice Cube.

This movie feels like the _best_ monster movie to me. We see not one, not two, but FOUR “main” monsters, and we see glimpses of others as well. And the brawl between the massive and powerful Gojira who is fighting for the good of the world, and the enormous, dominating Ghidora who is, _plot twist_ , not even FROM Earth, is an epic journey to watch! When I saw the movie for the first time, for some reason I got emotional watching Mothra emerge after metamorphosis; she was so beautiful 🥹 I love Mothra. Seeing ALL of the monsters was _so_ cool. And that final fight was epic! This movie is the best in the series to me, and such an amazing monster battle movie. Love it! Thank you so much for reacting to it! It was very fun to watch and you pointed out a couple of insights I didn’t think about 😅 Really enjoyed the video! 😊

IKR it's a very different symbiotic relationship between those two creatures. very much admirable.

Ghidora in Antarctica, outpost 32, and "you gotta be f-ing kidding" are all references to John Carpenter's The Thing. This can be confirmed by listening to the director's commentary. Also, look for anothe The Thing reference in Godzilla vs Kong...

Fun fact, king Ghidorah was played by three motion capture actors tied together. TJ storm was the motion capture actor for Godzilla.

I love this movie, especially how much it delves into the lore of the Titans. I loved seeing Godzilla's home. I don't understand the bad reviews this movie got, I like it better than Godzilla vs. Kong. I could tell from the previews that the mom was one of those crazy doomsday eco-terrorists. You'd think that admiral would be tired of always making things worse lol The scene with Serizawa saying goodbye to Godzilla was really cool. Burning Godzilla is actually something that happened in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah back in 1995.

I absolutely love Godzilla: King of the Monsters so much, it was the first Godzilla film I ever got to see in cinemas!! I love the cinematography, visual effects and an epic soundtrack!! Absolutely enjoyed this reaction Timothee!!

Another fun fact, if you look carefully during the scenes in the ‘temple’ that Godzilla was resting in and got healed via nuke at, there is a titan skeleton that looks vaguely like that of Anguirus; a titan that is traditionally Godzilla’s ally (and practically best friend).

Very kick ass score composed and conducted by Bear McCreary. The homages to Akira Ifukube("Godzilla's theme") and Yuji Koseki("Mothra's theme") are excellent.

Still the best Monsterverse movie IMO, it balances the human & monster plots very well. Although you can tell the monsters' movements are getting lighter here, 5 years later & they're basically acrobats.

Glad u both enjoyed the movie I saw it multiple times in theaters

Godzilla doesn't really care about humanity, but he tolerates humans so long as they don't interfere with what he wants to do. So he's only on the side of humanity until humanity does something stupid to cross him. And when that happens, Godzilla rarely leaves a foe alive in this series. He is a one monster wrecking crew...

Despite the poor reviews, this has continued to be my favorite "monsterverse" Godzilla movie. Everything about the fights and the monsters was epic, massive in scale, and felt like it had real stakes. Sure, the humans are boring, but they always are in the monsterverse, and im not here for them anyway. Godzilla vs Kong and Godzilla x Kong are fun, but not epic in the same way this one is. It goes without saying, that the music and cinematography in this is absolute peak.

Kyle Chandler stole the show in this one (though i liked MBB alot as the kid) , but why oh why did they waste him for 5 seconds in the third movie? Was hoping for a solid sequel to this one, but they totaly phoned it in with Kong vs G'. At least this one rocks, even if just for the decent monster action :)

I don't know if you ever catch this on the credits, but a cool detail its that all four main monsters are in the cast as if they were actors playing themselfs

I saw this in theaters it was quite the experience that was amazing to see

I think people need to understand that Godzilla doesn't "like" humanity he doesn't care killing them at all but more of just acknowledge that they are there and Godzilla only cares about maintaing balance and peace in the world, That's for Monsterverse Godzilla atleast. For other Goji movies (The Toho Ones) he's mostly just a menace there except the Showa Era he was pretty "funky" and weird there which I find funny and kinda cool. and then there's Son of Godzilla the Goji movie that every GFan hate and refuse to talk about...

In case as much wasn’t made clear in the movie itself, a crucial contributing reason behind Mark’s believing a machine like the ORCA shouldn’t exist is because the testing of the prototype resulted in whales attracted by its noise emissions beaching themselves and dying en masse.

This is every Godzillas fans dream seeing the big four Mothra Rodan King Ghidorah and Godzilla together in a modern movie and hearing the classic Godzilla and Mothra themes is just epic. Bear McCreary is the bomb when it comes to soundtracks and this is the best soundtrack in the Monsterverse period. Also y'all should watch Godzilla minus one. It's amazing

I still remember how hyped I was for this movie back in 2019. This and Avengers: Endgame were my top two most anticipated films of that year. Godzilla: King of the Monsters was so awesome! Sure, the human characters may be underdeveloped, but we have to remember that this is a Godzilla film. Epic monster fights and action are these film's main strengths, and there are quite a lot in this film! This really deserved a better box office total, but at least the MonsterVerse is still going strong today!

This Godzilla movie definitely up the ante with the monsters. Not only they brought back Godzilla and called this movie “King of the Monsters”, they also got Mothra, Ghidorah and Rodan to star in the same movie as well. It was majorly massive in every way. Granted, the movie didn’t really do so well at the box office when it started out, but since Godzilla vs Kong was already in production at the time, the MonsterVerse was literally too big to fail.

i love this Movie and in my opinion it's Better Than Godzilla x Kong new empire Simply because it has most character on the humans and Ghidorah Mothra Rodan made me fangirling like crazy lmao everytime they are onscreen
