DPR Ian not only directs and edits his own music videos but also takes charge of creating visuals for most DPR members. Videos marked with "DPR +IAN Visual" indicate Ian's directorial touch, and when the signature is flipped, it means he also performs in front of the camera. His artistic journey is deeply influenced by his daily struggle with Bipolar Disorder & DID. The character MITO, distinguished by a white eye, symbolizes his low manic condition and serves as a representation of his alter personality. Conversely, Mr. Insanity, adorned in a vibrant, clown-like ensemble with wolf claws, embodies his manic highs, characterized by extreme energy and chaos. Limbo represents the transitional state between manic lows and highs, described in interviews as a hybrid character with the worst traits from both spectrums. For those interested in exploring his work, a suggested starting order is: MITO I phase: So beautiful No blueberry Nerves Scaredy Cat Welcome to the show MITO II phase: MIITO movie (seraph, 1 shot, mood, ribbon) Dear Insanity Phase: Peanut butter & tears So I Danced Don't go insane Limbo

He’s so so talented - I love his videos. Ian has bipolar disorder and recently revealed that he also has DID, and he bases alot of his videos and the storyline on his struggles with it. Like for example his Mito side (the black one) is a representation of his manic lows and Mr. Insanity (the colorful one) is a representation of his manic highs.

It's so cool and admirable how he takes something that I'm sure can be very difficult, harnesses it and uses his creativity to make art. It's really brave and really cool.

Just wanted to add that Mito and Insanity are his alters just like the one here "The hybrid" they are not really representation of his lows and highs since they have nothing to do with his bipolar but his bipolar does have an impact on his DID when he goes manic low it will trigger Mito to come since he is the protector and most of the time when Ian goes in a manic low it hits pretty hard on his mental that's why Mito takes control :)

A lot of people don't consider Ian a kpop artist as he sings in english, is so unique and out there musically, and that he lives mainly in LA now... But, he is most definitely a product of the kpop industry, he was previously in the boy group C-CLOWN for 3 years in the mid 10s, and I think that makes him super relevant to the changing landscape of kpop as it exists here at the dawn of 2024. I personally love everything he's does, and I'm a big fan of all the other DPR artists too. Glad you are getting into his work man! 🐺🤘💖

Hey, good to see you! Got it. I struggle with the genre labels. "KPop" is such a weird catch-all that seems to mean less and less. I can't wait for it to be called "music" lol. Nobody calls Drake Canadian rap, he's a rapper from Canada who cares lol. It's the opposite of rock where you get the most specific subgenres. Anyway DPR Ian seems like a creative genius doing dope, epic, brave things. Definitely going to keep learning about him. Thanks for watching!

Christian Yu or DPR IAN wasn't acting he's actually filmed all his music videos when he has his dips from bipolar type 1 and he has also D.I.D=Dissociation Identity Disorder which he revealed. When he is in his manic highs his alter is MR INSANITY which bring destruction and chaos as shown in Peanut butter and tears, So I danced and Don't Go Insane. When Ian is in his manic lows he's alter is MITO who's dressed in all black the protector or guardian of him. MITO became his first alter through a trauma Christian or DPR IAN experienced as a child. If you want to know more about MITO watch So beautiful, and then MITO movie, which has Seraph,Ribbon,1 Shot,Mood. Other music videos are No Blueberries,Welcome to the Show,Ballroom Extravaganza, SKINS demo raw and unmastered. Which are all the origin stories which are all on Dream Perfect Regime KZread channel. With the new song and music video "LIMBO" this is the new alter which is a combination of Mr Insanity and MITO which is more dangerous and has a darker intensity. You can see the pure rage and anguish with this new alter. The full range of emotions that are felt while watching. My heart breaks for Christian with all the self sacrificing of himself for his art and struggles alot with his mental health. The emotional and physical toll it will take on him is so concerning. Ian wants the viewers to watch and he's said that he doesn't want them to look away from the dark themes and the creative artistry that he and DPR create. He also wants us to figure out who and what the next alter is? Also he's paying tribute to JUJITSU KAISEN which is a Japanese anime. That's the opening scene where he's sitting on the shoulders of the people in black surrounded by the bone throne and also the close shot of where the umbrella's are all pointing at him. As Christian and all the DPR members are huge fans on JUJITSU KAISEN. There are 3 alters and then Ian and when the alters take over Ian completely blackouts. Which can affects him for days even months losing time, space and memory. So all the music video's he's made it's been with MITO and MR INSANITY while blacking out. I would suggest you also watch Christian's IG lives on KZread. As he speaks about his mental health very openly with his fans and he's so authentic, and likes to show transparency, and vulnerability. That's extremely rare with any artists. He also speaks about the creative process of how makes his music, the instruments he uses and the insights behind his creativity and inspiration whenever he goes on Instagram or Tik Tok lives. Christian started as a Bboy in Sydney,Australia. He's Australian born and is Korean. He started his own KZread channel as BboyYu and teached his own tutorials at the age of 17. He's also has been in a heavy metal band when he was high school as a lead guitarist. He grew up as a scene kid. I hope he makes a metal album one day.🤘🤘🖤🖤🖤 Then he left Sydney, Australia for South Korea at 19 with his mum's blessing. He was scouted on the streets of South Korea then auditioned to join the boy band CClown as their leader, and rapper for 12 years. His entertainment company wouldn't let Christian leave. As Christian has said in a few words the experience traumatised him and his band members. As the mangers would eithier scold or physically hit the group members if they didn't perform or show respect to the CEO's standards. Christian then created DPR which is Dream.Perfect.Regime. Which is a creative collaborative with his friends and they have been doing everything on their own terms for over 9 years. While shaking up the industry and having world domination with their music, and visual music videos that are such masterpieces. DPR IAN has won awards in 2023 for the best International Artist in Taiwan at GQ Man of the Year. Also Best Alternative artist in Thailand at Super Sounds Festival. Christian's influenced by musical theatre he saw Phantom of the Opera and Cats as a young child. His influences are Tim Burton, and many more! Christian started out as a director,he prefered to be behind the camera. After his departure from being an idol himself. He's directed music videos for Bobby from IKON, Mino from WINNER and Taeyang from BIGBANG and also DPR'S incredible rapper and songwriter Live with collabs of Jay Park,Loco,DEAN. Also DPR IAN have collaborating with DPR CREAM and DPR ARTIC. Now Christian is an accomplished artist, singer songwriter, extraordinary dancer, director, producer, editor in his own right. If you really like DPR IAN please continue to support him and DPR and react to more of his and their music videos. Christian loves watching all the reactors KZread channels and their reaction to all his videos! As he has spoken about watching with excitement! Christian is always interested about how reactors like yourself think about not only the music and music video's. Also what his subliminal messages are throughout. His fans are called DREAMers ❤❤❤🫂✨✨✨ While the lore of MITO and MR INSANITY is "Welcome to the Otherside". I really enjoyed your reactions, and insights of "LIMBO". You are a breath of fresh air @Chain Reaction Love your Red Velvet Tshirt. They are my favourite girl group. ReVeluv are the fandom. Also I am a happily new subscriber! Thank you for all your hard work and I love your KZread channel @Chain Reaction🎉🎊🙌🙌 👏👏❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Wow he has such an interesting story! I had seen that he was in a band - as a metal fan I would love to see his take on that genre too!! I will definitely look into more of his content, thank you! I think in my "Don't Go Insane" reaction (if you didn't watch it yet!) I said I was reminded of Beetlejuice and metal lyrics, before I knew he was into Tim Burton and Metal. He just has such a strong artistic vision. I also really love the idea that he didn't like how kpop labels treated him so he did his own thing - reminds me a little of Soyeon from (G)I-DLE who has similarly taken a lot of control over her music and concepts to make it more authentic for the artists. That is not only impressive - it's brave! Happy to embark on my own DREAMer journey, and yes you can check out my Red Velvet reactions - I love them a LOT (kzread.info/head/PL17cDK8nTtaVMH72iDN-Ux42EVspSGaq8). Thank you for sharing all of this information and I am glad to have you here!

I appreciate you going in depth and analysing the lyrics alongside the music video. Ian gets really vulnerable with his art and goes all out for every single thing he releases. You can really feel that he puts all of his heart into his music. It would be really cool to see your reaction to his older music videos, like "No blueberries", "Nerves", but especially "So Beautiful" because that song is his official debut song as a singer, he was previously known more as a director. I think it would show you a fuller version of who he is and what is he going through

You might be interested in watching all the videos from his Dear Insanity album in order because there is a definite story line that appears to be going backwards in time with each successive video. Start with Peanut Butter and Tears, then So I Danced, Don't Go Insane Official Teaser, Don't Go Insane official music video, and then finally Limbo (the video you just watched). With each video you see how the wacky funny insanity of Peanut Butter and Tears has it's origins in the terrifying and painful Limbo (that's just my interpretation).

Thank you for doing more Dpr ian, ur input is really interesting to hear and i hope to see more. I STRONGLY recommend MIITO movie part 1 its a mix of four songs from his second album and genuinly is a piece of art. I think for me what really seperates him from anyone in the industry besides the music itself is that he is a film director even before he started releasng his own music. He also does the most the vfx and editing for his videos so i think the visuals are always intergral to the music itself making for this combination of artistry that makes something so personal to him and just so unique. Also yes this video and don't go insane have been interconnected storyline and video however the more u do the more u will see there is so much more

Oh nice - yeah I think these MVs have had that special quality where every part meant something, there was no filler it's just what he wanted to share. That makes a lot of sense with him being a director - he makes sure everything is just how it needs to be! MIITO sounds really cool thank you for the recommendation and for watching!

Ever since Michael Jackson passed away, we seem to have forgotten what it means to be a true artist. And now he is before our eyes. ian ... I am grateful to be living in the same era as you. Um.....to put it a bit exaggeratedly.... If you were told that I had to sell my soul to the devil in order to be able to continue listening to this person's songs in the future, I would gladly do so.

The only thing wrong with this is its brevity!! Its giving me big time DEAN vibes this one (if you haven't checked out DEAN, I would strongly recommend him). And yeah the guy has some serious moves, you can see his body feels the music. Love your reactions.
