There is an awesome deleted scene that I feel should NOT have been removed from the film...especially AFTER seeing Creed III (no spoilers). Donnie walks into Viktor's dressing room, sits down beside him and something like "Don't let one fight define who you are." When he leaves the dressing room, Rocky walks in, Ivan Drago sees him, he stops for a moment as they look into each other's eyes, then Ivan gives him an "It's all good" look on his face, and Rocky exits the room.

There are a lot of scenes that shouldn't have been deleted. Spider Rico's funeral is some of the best acting Stallone has ever done, and they cut it. It was one of the reasons he was pissed off at the producers and didn't come back for Creed III.

@@sumelar that can be true without contradicting the claim about Rico's funeral. There could have been substantial lag time between the final edit being made for Creed 2 and its eventual release, and the news about Stallone's lack of involvement in 3 could have come out during that period. I'd have to check dates and news releases on these subjects to try to confirm that, and I honestly don't have the time or energy to go down that rabbit hole, but it's at least possible.

Yeah ik they had to cut some things due to runtime, but it’s odd they deleted that scene of all things. It brings closure while also tying things together for Creed III.

I really wish they kept both Spider Rico's funeral and the locker room scene. Spider Rico's death would've been a great setup as for why Rocky eventually takes Adonis to train in the desert, and also provide a true kick-start as to why Rocky is so much more torn about calling Robert. And the locker scene would've been a great character moment for Adonis because it totally acknowledges the fact that the fight between him and Viktor didn't need to happen and that frankly, they both need to move on from the shadows of their dads. And the look of mutual respect between Rocky & Drago spoke volumes. Agh, so much good character/thematic stuff in those deleted scenes, that would've added much more to the movie.

The Creed movies are great for one thing (several actually): giving us morally ambiguous villains. Instead of the robotic bad guy Ivan Drago from Rocky 4, we have someone who finally realized the value of life. Him throwing down the towel is heavy symbolism. Can't wait for you to see the third movie!

I feel that one of the reasons it was so hard for Rocky to go see his son was because he didn't wanna leave Adrian. When he gets there and sees his grandson it's probably a huge breathe of fresh air because as he said "You look just like his mother" So he never really left her and he's able to have both of them there in a sense.

I remember seeing the first trailer for this movie in the theater. In that trailer they did a pretty good job of hiding the opponent was going to be until the very end when you see the name Drago on the back of his robe. The entire movie theater crowd went crazy. I remember one guy even saying, "Oh sh!t, Drago?!"

After seeing this movie again one part that really got me in my feels was when Rocky finally saw his Grandchild for the first time. When he said he look like Adrian my soft ass wad holding back all my tears. Like not only he finally met his grand kid but he resembles not Adrians soft looks but het mannerisms too. He was so polite and nice just like his Grandmother. It's crazy how much he resembles her. It got me hard bro and then Adonis kid inheriting the hearing loss from her mom. God that actually did make me cry. Why this whole franchise got to be soo damn emotional man.

While you edited it out the part that got me was when Rocky says to Donny "And when I did get in the ring that guy broke things in me that ain't never been fixed." Even at his worst in Rocky 5 he NEVER admitted how bad he really was after that fight. Him openly admitting that Ivan did break him shows more than anything how terrified he was of the idea of Adonis getting in the ring with a Drago.

this movie is really great, but maybe has the craziest suspension of disbelief in any Rocky movie: Drago Jr. is the average size of an actual heavyweight. The way that the Rocky movies insanely say that Stallone and Michael are capable of being heavyweights... it's completely nuts, and I think it started as an ego thing? Coz 1st Rocky came out when boxing was mainstream and the most popular fighters at that exact moment happened to be heavyweights but like, good fighters in any class were always as popular, they coulda made Rocky and Apollo be their actual weights. Stallone or someone was like, weirdly fetishizing heavyweights, and it makes movies like this look insane from an irl boxing first glance.

Great reaction as always. You need to see the KZread video of deleted scenes, Addie. There are 2 at least that should have been left in: Spider Rico's funeral and the locker room scene after last fight with Donny and Viktor, and Rocky and Ivan. I dont understand the omission of these scenes. The reason Stallone is not involved with Creed III is his anger with Irwin Winker who he calls a tyrant and who is the person he sold the rights to the franchise when he was broke back in the 70s. It has nothing to do with Michael B Jordan or anyone else. For that reason, I will mirror his decision not to see it and I will not watch reactions to it. The torch has been passed and I wish them luck except Winker. Fck him.

Yep, it's allowed (not the arm holding). In fact, it's a pretty common strategy to target an injury like a cut on the face, as long as the fighter is still able to defend himself and his corner doesn't throw in the towel. If the referee thinks that he can't, he'll stop it to prevent the injury from getting worse.

But Rocky does throw in the towel inside the ring, and the ref does try to stop the fight but Draggo pushed away the ref and kept punching Creed, drago did commit murder. I get the movie doesn’t treat it like this, but that’s what the movie shows.

Rocky clearly has PTSD from his experiences with Drago. The man beat Apollo to death in front of Rocky, Duke, and Marianne (not to mention their other kids). Then he almost beat Rocky to death in front of Adriane. Rocky was probably containing a panic attack during the restaurant scene.

Skip Creed 3. Not good. I mean, you can watch it but you’ll never return to it again. That movie was knocked out before it came out. Creed 2 is the official end.
