@@Gojirawars03 Batman Forever has some actual merit, even if I'm not big on Kilmer. The depiction of Dick Grayson's origin story is really quite good, and to be honest, after the rocket-backpacked penguins in this film, is anything in Forever really that much more ridiculous? It's harder to defend Batman & Robin, but it has some good Alfred moments, if nothing else.

@KevyNova it's a part of Batman's cinematic history. I've watched people react to Batman movies, stating that there isn't a bad one. They never knew the Joel Schumacher existed. Once again, the decline of this film series is what brought us better batman films, and better superhero films in general.

I LOVE this Batman movie so much. Catwoman and Penguin were PERFECTLY cast. I especially loved Michelle Pfeiffer's latex suit and makeup and the way she differentiated the voices between the two personalities of her character. The sexy femme fatale voice of Catwoman, and the hopeless romantic, bubblebrained and good-meaning, but emotionally distraught Selina Kyle.

2 left in this series. Batman Forever (with Two Face and Riddler) and Batman and Robin (with Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy, bit of Bane) With these two movies though Tim Burton didn't direct the next two, Joel Schumacker did and they decided to give homage to the 1960s movie/TV series and went a bit more "cartoonish/comic bookish. Still interesting to watch.

From what I can gather, director Tim Burton was kind of restrained by the Studio when he did the 1989-Movie and he wouldn't make the Sequel unless he got full creative control. He basically got _carte blanche_ to do whatever he wants to do, resulting in a much darker, more bizarre movie. And while I do prefer the first film, personally, I find _Returns_ to be almost as good. Its rare to get a Mainstream-Movie, let alone a Superhero-Flick, that is so unapologetically _bleak._

God, I love this movie. It's really between The Batman and Batman Returns for the best Batman movie. If you could figure out how to take this over the top craziness and this amazing version of Gotham and blend it with the gritty noir, darkness, and cinematography of The Batman, it'd be PERFECT.

there is a saying that fits Penguin's backstory "Villains are not born, they are made" but then I just remembered, as a baby Penguin ate the house cat. but that's nothing compare to his parents abandoning him. I'm not implying that Penguin is good, innocent nor the victim. I'm saying this is what made him evil.

I don’t personally care for the subsequent live action 90s Batman movies, “Batman Forever” and “Batman & Robin”. That said, I don’t think WB executives were 100% wrong when they wanted a less intense film after Batman Returns. I watched this for the first time when I was about 4 and Penguin absolutely horrified me (same with Shreck’s corpse) to the point I didn’t watch anything Batman related for a few years. As an adult I can rewatch this no problem and can appreciate Devito’s performance and the make-up for making Penguin so terrifying but that initial aversion to the film does linger a bit. Once again I encourage you to check out “Batman: Mask of the Phantasm” which came out a year later. It’s the best animated Batman movies and one of the best Batman movies overall (phenomenal cast, story and score). Also reacting to the other two live action 90s Batman films might be worth it as they do have some good moments (Jim Carrey’s Riddler, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ice puns as Mr Freeze and few fun references to the 1960s Adam West Batman series)

Also, the song that plays at the ballroom costume party is called "Face to Face" by Siouxsie and the Banshees. The lyrics have some references to both Batman and Catwoman. At one point, the vocalist even purrs like Catwoman during one of these said lyrics. The music video in question is darky and weirdly gothic and so fits within Burton's Batman universe.

Did you catch the total airhead, The Ice Princess' light ceremony rehearsal? "... tree lights up. Then I press the button." *Thinks to herself* "... No, no, I press the button, then the tree lights up." Ultimately, she ended up failing at this, but the tree lights still went up. Just one example of the fun, twisted, sometimes dark humour in the film. Another one of my favourite exchanges - Max: "Listen, I don't know what you want, but I can get it to you, with a minimum fuss. *Catwoman does an offensive whip* Max: "Money, jewels... a very big ball of string!" *Catwoman reels Max in with her whip* Catwoman: "Blood, Max!" Max: "... blood, I gave, at the office!" Catwoman: "A half pint. I'm talking galloons!"

Even though the comics had eventually become and been defined by being psychological, heightened reality, crime dramas, the world's view of Batman before the 1989 movie was The Adam West TV show. These movies are a bridge between the comics' take and the campiness of the show. It's done away with completely when Batman Begins comes around. The 1989 movie introduced the comics' tone and style to the world. The grappling gun also came from that movie and has been used ever since, a rope with an anchor was used prior to this.

This is fun, zany Tim Burton land, so just go with it. Crocodiles would threaten to attack The Red Triangle Circus gang for food, and it's just a less interesting visual regarding them walking around Gotham. You've got me thinking about how cool this could be in a realistic landscape though, and it's certainly exciting, but Catwoman still has nine lives. The movie is a surreal dream and gothic fairytale - end of story!

Up until Zoe Kravitz, Michelle Pfeifer was undoubtedly the best Cat Woman. I would still say she's the best, but I think Zoe is right up there with her. Both at #1. Anne Hathaway did an awesome job. Fortunately she was working Nolan, who used her talent & had a great vision, she's #2 with Eartha Kitt. But poor Halle Berry had the bad luck of being directed in a bad CatWoman movie, by someone who didn't care for the CatWoman, Batman lore. She's at #3. I really do believe Halle could've been a really good CatWoman. She wasn't bad,the film was imo. BUT if she was directed by a Tim Burton, Christopher Nolan, or Matt Reeves. OMG, Halle would have knocked it out of the park.
