I have never seen this kind of reballing, amazing work although you weren't able to fix it! Loved watching it though!❤

Nice attempt. I done my 1st cpu reball on a switch lite last week. Done it by hand and took bloody hours haha. There was a damaged pad under it so had to repair that 1st. It was a success!! Well chuffed. Not doing it by hand again lmao. Was also BSOD.

Good effort! I've tried hand balling myself in the past, couldn't stop the balls from sticking to the tweezers, then once I did as soon as added heat the balls moved, absolute nightmare, never again! So know what you did is hard!

From Bluescreen to Blackscreen😂No Pretty good for the first time. I practiced on old notebook circuit boards and destroyed a lot of them. 480C is way too much, you just get popcorn. It's best to work with a preheater and heat the board to 150C from below and then heat from above to max 300C, preferably 250-270C

well there is popcorning on the chip you basicly killed the chip while you were removing it that moisture dries itself you did not had to clean that it resulted in uneven balls and finally check for shorts after any reball or reflow the way you did this reball it was physically getting sick try to practice on the dead pc motherboards chipsets they have identical dimensions and use a pre heater under the board next time use 390 for 1min and 440 to 450 from distance to remove the chip and use a pre heater to pre heat the board to atlest 180 200c or you will kill every other reball too!!

I have the same board holder as you, it has its good and bad. THE BAD IS THAT IF YOU DONT LOOK WHERE THE BOARD SITS ON THE HOLDER THERE WILL BE PARTS (AKA SMD ) GET KNOCKED OFF !! . I only noticed this after the 2nd board I worked on and sure enough its the exact same spot, on this time I was lucky and able to find it on my mat and solder it back. Look around the edge of your board for missing components. I was missing a diode in mines.

Once it's exfoliated, there's nnothing you can do. It either still works (very rarely) or it does not. The CPU substrates have solder too, if you heat them too much, they expand, letting that solder out eventually. Looks kind of peculiar and I strongly believe that you rushed out the process, as I have used 550C in the past, for GPUs, but that was towards end of life, and the layers were very thick, and even so, it doesn't allow you to do it too often. The substrate will eventually fail.

Board should be baked before attempting this to remove moisture from the apu, something like 24h@100°c - not that the excessive heat helped either. I still enjoyed watching the video 🤣

the odds i think are good that a bad modkit install was tryed and removed from the switch. that caused the blue screen. it really looks like power charging chips may have shorts
