I just wanted to say Jon has always been a great guy, I used to hang out with his brother Anthony, and i was also on tour with them and Skid Row. I was Rob Affuso drum tech. I used to live a few blocks away from Jon when he lived Navesink (Middletown, NJ ) till he moved to Fla. Jon has done a lot for homeless, he has a place in Red Bank NJ called JBJ soul kitchen where you make a donation to charity to dine there, or if your homeless and need a meal you can bus a couple of tables for your meal

This song was so popular that it increased Harley-Davidson motorcycle sales, much like the Purple Rain movie did for Honda. The funny part is that the equating of the song to a motorcycle is all in the listener's head as one is never seen in the video though many will argue it did (Mandela Effect) and Jon said in several interviews that the "Steel Horse" he rode on is the tour bus.

At 19, I walked into the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Tx. 100,000 people were there. I did feel the excitement.

By far my favorite Bon Jovi song. Of particular note, RS's guitar work. That first guitar solo is nearly continuous flare, pinch after pinch. I remember when this hit and I thought it was the coolest ever. Jon's voice is fine, when he's got control of it. Ritchie is the superior musician for sure. Great post.

Bon Jovi became my nickname in HS to all my black classmates, since they saw them on MTV twice an hour the comparison was easy. Tight jeans,long hair and played in a band. The similarities ended with how much money they made 😂Always been a funny memory.

So many great shows to go to in the 80s. Tickets were 15-20$ life was good for us teens Great music 70s too

The concert was filmed in Reno, NV. I was there as a teen in high school on the floor in the first two rows. About 3/4 of the way through the video, the group I was with and myself are in it for 3 or 4 seconds. That's my claim to fame, ha ha.

Nostalgia jumps through the roof. Damn good song. 👍

"Lay Your Hands on Me" is my favorite video. They are so awesome. You will love it.

You are exactly right sir that’s exactly what we had to do and that was the only way to see them is go to the concert. So glad I grew up during this time love the 80s rock love your guy’s reaction and your conversation.

They had an insane tour schedule back in the eighties they were on the road non stop for years. Thats how you became number one back then you toured like an animal and got your stuff on the radio on MTV.

I don't know. He's always saying how hard it was, but at least he was living his dream. There are certain professions where you do work as many hours and you don't get rich, or you work two jobs and you're every bit as tired, but not rich. I've seen him on interviews where he acts like he's the only person who ever worked their butt off and it's annoying. That being said, he's a great singer. I just never liked his personality. He always just seems like an arrogant guy trying not to come off like an arrogant guy.

Rich people going through mental & emotional hardships isn't unheard of. **cough** Kurt Cobain **cough** Sharing one's troubles doesn't automatically mean dismissing that of others.

You said it Burke. Being A Rock star has to be one of the HARDEST jobs on the planet!! Here's a average day of a Rock star.... 1 or 2 if not more early morning TV/Radio interviews, photo shoots and meet and greets in the afternoon, late afternoon sound check, from here it's either back to the hotel or just hang backstage till showtime, 1.5 - 2 hours of extreme cardio (The show LOL), then the party starts and probably doesn't end till 1-2 AM probably longer, REPEAT CYCLE!!! I forget to mention while all this is going on you constantly have people trying to get at you, talk to you and worse yet TOUCH YOU. I won't get into the people behind the scenes taking everything they can from you. It's a special breed

Jon Bon Jovi was and still is absolutely gorgeous!! He is an amazing singer, songwriter and performer. He and Richie Sambora were a magical duo with their vocals and songwriting abilities! And Richie is a fantastic guitarist! If you want to see them in action in a concert, watch Dry County and Always from their Wembley 1995 concert or their Keep The Faith from the 2001 concert in Giants Stadium. Bon Jovi filled stadiums and never disappointed!

For some that weren't around back then, Bon Jovi was huge, it also helped that MTV still played videos at the time and their Slippery When Wet music videos were constantly being played. Their follow-up New Jersey album, same thing, their videos were always played. I can't think of a rock group in today's world that was as huge as they were back then. This was also during the Glam Rock era of the mid to late 80's, and although they weren't really Glam Rock, they bordered on it so their music was also played on mainstream radio, not just rock stations. I agree, I think Sambora had the better voice, but Jon had a more likeable voice, if that makes sense. lol Sambora's voice was strong though. It's good to see the younger generation getting a chance to experience this band.

I love the acoustic version from MTV. I remember seeing that performance live and I was blown away! Pure talent with Jon and Ritchie.

this will always be my favorite Bon Jovi video because it was filmed at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago and I was at that show.

Burch, I've always kind of thought the same thing regarding Richie having a better voice than Jon. Maybe you could react to Stranger In This Town to show Alexis how good he was, and is.

I think Richie's voice is more suited for blues not rock. Jon is better as a rock singer and he's an amazing front man.

Well, congratulations.👋 As soon as I saw the song title my guitar just "magically" appeared in my hands. Still have not mastered the entire song, but you just gave my motivation a needed boost.

A classic; you can't have great 80's Rock without Bon Jovi. I was 16 when that album came out and it was huge! I miss music videos; they still exist but nowhere near what I grew up with. A good video can take a great song and make it amazing.

tbon jovi met bob seager on the road told him he loved his song turn the page and he had to wright his own song and this is what he came up with both songs are about living on the road

One of the few albums that I've had on vinyl, casette and CD. This and Europe's Final Countdown from '86 changed my musical life.

If you love Jon Bon Jovi, you would love Richie Sambora (lead guitarist in Bon Jovi). My 2 favorite songs from him are "if God was a woman" & " Hard times come easy". Maybe you could do them 1 day???

Bon Jovi is not good performer but an excellent performer live. 3hrs of fun and energy no politics BS just gave you chance to escape reality. Richie is 100% doesn't get the respect he deserves. I wish Richie and JBJ could has it out and reunite. Those two are a perfect match when it comes to making music.

I t was a big deal waiting outside before the concert I camped outside the stadium for 2 days to see them in 1986. It was a blast that I will never forget

My dad has a nephew a couple of years older than him! But. He is 25 years younger than his closest sibling. She turned 99 in February.

That's one of my favorite Bon Jovi videos. I would like to see you two react to the Johnny Cash video of him singing the "Nine Inch Nails", song"Hurt". It was Cash's last video. His wife June was in the video also. She died 3 months after filming he passed away 7 months after. It is so sad you can see how frail he was while filming this video. I tear up every time I watch it. 😢

Please watch live acoustic version od this, its pretty amazing! They both are great live, and Ritchie sings more on acoustic versions! There is one great acoustic live from late eightees, of this and Living on a prayer, two songs, one of the best lives ever!

Ritchie never got the respect for his guitar and vocals. Last saw them play together for almost a 3 hour concert…. I counted 17 different guitar used. I miss him.

@@jp3813 Right, as a valued guitarist and vocalist, he was not respected when his ex was a blazing alcoholic and his daughter struggled with mental illness. If the situation was reversed JBJ would have postponed touring to take care of his family. But when Ritchie had to do it, he was admonished, and forced to quit. There was no respect for what Ritchie brought to the band. Just replace him with another. Well when JBJ voice failed, Ritchie could have elevated the sound. Instead no one is touring because JBJ damaged his vocal cord. Karma. That said, I grew up with these guys. I’m an original Jersey girl and lived just up the road. I’m also 100% Italian and family ALWAYS comes first.

I saw them in concert and they were AMAZING. My friend and I were dancing in our seats and I looked at the guy next to me who was also rocking out and it was LL Cool J! :D

I just discovered your channel a few hours ago. The first 2 videos I watched were Craig Morgan’s almost home and the song Monsters. Can’t remember the guy’s name, but that was a heavy song. I grew up on bands like Bon Jovi. Saw them live in 1989. Looking forward to seeing more of your reactions!

Back in my late teens, early twenties, drinking age was 18, the late seventies/early eighties, I spent almost every weekend hanging out in Asbury Park at The Stone Pony. Bruce would be there all the time, and so would Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. I believe I caught Joan Jett there as well. A couple of blocks west of Ocean Avenue was a bar/club called The Fast Lane, and one of the regular bands was "John Bongiovi and The Wild Bunch." They drew a little younger crowd from Sayerville, John's hometown, down the Parkway to the Jersey shore area. Never went in the place.

Can’t overlook keyboardist David Bryan, a great musician. Went to Julian’s and (much later) won a Tony for Best Original Score for the musical,Memphis.

Jon Bon Jovi has always been a great looking dude with a voice that was made to sing Rock n Roll! Such a stud muffin! Now he's a Silver Fox and STILL HOT! ❤❤❤

Great song, I was never a fan of these guys, but this song was so good, and then Jon did the Young Guns II Soundtrack and Blaze of Glory was FIRE

Motley Crue's 'Home Sweet Home', one of the 80s biggest power ballads, also shows the on the road life & the good times & the toll it takes. Great song, great video.

I heard this song on a movie “ Young guns” i remember Dee Snider said about Bon Jovi is “ Teeth metal”. He’s always smiling showing his pearly whites, him and Eddie Van Halen I love this song off of “ slippery when wet album. To me the song It's about how times are tough but people can get through them anyway. The lyrics tell about a young man is out of work because “the union's been on strike” and how his girlfriend has to support them

Wanted Dead Or Alive was never used in the Young Guns movies. The movie producers approached Jon about using the song. He said "no" but offered to write a new song. That song was Blaze Of Glory.

In Woodbridge, New Jersey there is a road named after Richie Sambora. It's called Richie Sambora Way and it's at the Woodbridge High School. I believe Richie S. provided funds for the WHS to put in a weightroom for the athletic program.

I saw them twice during their Slippery When Wet tour. At the start, they were opening for 38th Special. By the end, they were headlining.

First thing I ever learned on guitar was from my brother-in-law. Is the opening riff. That opening with and sweet child of mine might be to the most famous opening riffs

Funny transition: videos from "Blaze of Glory" - full carpet, a few years later - "Keep the faith" not only head hairdos are different. Chest got a breather as well. Dude must have lost 20 pounds in weight just through hair loss. And my, does he have a killer smile. Watch him in "Ally McBeal" (yeah, quite a talented actor).

John Bongiovi, Jr...a.k.a. Jon Bon Jovi (it's phoentic version of his real name) is EXTREMELY good looking. I've actually seen him up close when I ran into him on the sidewalk in Toronto. I, too, am a Richie fan. The unplugged version of this with Jon and Richie is FIRE. they started the whole unplugged thing by coming out at a awards show and performing this song.

Ooh, if you like the "behind the scenes" thing of videos, check out Queen's "One Vision". I think you'll like that one a lot!

This video was on MTV constantly but it never got old. Slippery When Wet didn't have a weak song on the record.

Weird FYI: the album version has the line "I got the night on my side" during the post -"I rocked them all" chorus out. It's not in the video. Wonder if the record company actually had them delete one line to make the time shorter?

Was lucky enough to have seen these guys on the Slippery and New Jersey tours and man did they always bring it to a live show. So many of the other rockers liked to tease them, but so much of it was purely out of jealousy of their success. Those guys busted their asses with a brutal touring schedule and I think it's part of the reason they have had the longevity they have had and still have with their fan base.

I’m more of a classic rock/hard rock guy but the 80s was a time when everything was a tad blurry…there were some great “hair metal” bands. You couldn’t get away from Bon Jovi & as much as tried to not like them, I wound up jammin to their stuff. Anytime you do an 80s reaction, the official music video is a must….it’s part of the story.

Poison's every rose has it's thorn video is the same as Bon Jovi's wanted dead or alive video.

Ya'll HAVE to check the 1989 MTV VMA performance of bonjovi acoustic "living on a prayer/wanted dead or alive". That performance started MTV Unplugged series. No one has done a reaction this that performance performance

Love the channel. Just wanted to say I'm actually in this video. Parts were filmed in Rochester MN at the Mayo Civic Center. I'm only in crowd shots, but cool to say I'm in a video! Earlier that day, I was at the local music store (Face the Music), and met the opening band and got autographs (Cinderella).

The time on the road and the toll it takes, is like, Bob Seger's, Turn the Page.

You can always show Richie’s “Stranger in This Town” to highlight his singing; another good one to show is Kane Robert’s “Does Anybody Really Fall In Love Anymore” to highlight JBJ & RS’s writing

Please do "Rosie" and "Father Time". Maybe "Mr Bluesman" as well.

I love that the song is an interesting parallel to the life of an outlaw in the old west, they roll into town, make a lot of noise, drink all the booze, steal the loot, get the girl and then move on to the next town.

You need to check out Harem Scarem - Mandy (preferably the Mood Swings II album version). One of the most emotional electric guitar songs you'll hear. Pete Lesperance is awesome! Right up there with Eddie Van Halen and Steve Vai.

When Young Guns 2 was in production. They wanted this song. He refused. He was a big fan of the first one and insisted of writing a song tailored to the movie series.

"When they came to town, you had to go..." When people came to play in Poland (BJ only in 21st century) in 80's and early 90's they'd come for one or two shows, so we came to see them from all over our small country (like half-Texas). Metallica, Iron Maiden were the trailblazers. (Well, the Rolling Stones came in the 1960s...) Most artists didn't come to Poland, but they would do East Germany (Berlin) or Czechoslovakia (Prague) so we went there. When "Monsters of Rock" came to us in 1991 (Iron Maiden, Metallica, AC/DC and I think Slayer, no Queensryche, Accept (I'm ok with that), Skid Row or Motley Crue - I don't think there was a city that wasn't represented in the audience. Oh, Helloween came to Poland too. In the 1980s in my town there were shows from Shakin' Stevens, Kajagoogoo and Misty in Roots (reggae legend) that I remember and went to. Sisters of Mercy came in 1991 and Ian Gillan too. So, what I'm saying is - USA was/has been damn lucky in this respect. To us - anybody was an emotional national holiday, even if 300 miles away. OOH, Ooh I forgot - Uriah Heep, Whitesnake and Deep Purple also came shortly after the fall of Berlin Wall, and I skipped and failed a semester exam at university to go see Alice Cooper in Warsaw 1997. :D

I agree Burch, I think Richie Sambora had a better voice, but Jon was more of the showman, and him being the frontman let Richie really fly on guitar. The style of rock Bon Jovi played, it would have been challenging to be lead vocals AND lead guitar.

He was also a dam good business man.

Glad to see she could see the video. Burch was correct about all the back story. We were spoiled in the 80's bc we actually had 2 Bon Jovi's with Canada's answer to Bon Jovi with the band Honeymoon Suite, who had just as great music, just doesn't get the attention.

Life on the road is a very hard life. You get to a new town and have to do press while the stage is being built. Then sound check. Then the show, meet and greets, after show party, a few hours sleep, hotel lobby call, the bus / plane, new town, press, sound check ..... A new band is on a very hard album - tour - album - tour cycle. That grind can create problems for some people. Bon Jovi was on the road endlessly for a few albums and tour cycles. They were all messed up with their demons from using alcohol and probably some "pharmaceuticals" to keep the train rolling. Jon had been on steroids just to keep it all going. They eventually fired their manager and sorted themselves out. A few artists have said that they will play the shows for free, just pay them for the other 22 hours of the day.

Every work never ends till you are 70... not only rockstars work :D
