FIRST TIME RIDING MY DRESSAGE HORSE WITHOUT A BRIDLE

Hey guys, we are coming to you once again with another first. as much as I am excited to share this I do want to remind you all that horse riding is a dangerous activity and trying to ride your horse on neck rope should only be done when you have some one knowledgable to assist you. DO NOT TRY THIS ALONE. I hope you all enjoy

Let's take a moment to appreciate Eva's humor. Chase looks so happy without his bridle. I would expect him to be confused or test you a bit but he's so happy with the arrangement. Such an awesome horse, a real gentle giant. Definitely ride with a neckrope more often, he seems to really enjoy it.

When I was first taking lessons, my trainer insisted I learn to ride without my reins and then my stirrups. She made it fun, putting rings on poles weaving through jump post and such, but now that i look back it was her way of training her beginners not to yank on the reins and to properly utilize and respect the tools we use when riding. She always started us on a very experienced horses, and she would regularly take out reins and or stirrups from us as we learned knew skills. I can't say how many times I would have taken a hard tumble without her "bootcamp".

Anime Huntress ...Sounds good, bet you've light hands and good seat. I had my first lesson out on a lead rein, the old one/two one/two, reins crossed in the left hand, loose, right hand on the pommel to get my balance. Accidents were very rare, the whole school rode out. I was shown how to neck-rein and stop, a bit of rein drill for collecting up and letting go, away I went. Then I became a working pupil and was doing the leading. 60 years ago! Learned to jump a bit no hands up a lane. Also did a lot of bareback, my preference on a trusted horse.

I've worked with horses my whole life... Cutting reining trail.. Raised on cattle ranch.. Gathered cattle roped. All my studs and mares work without bridles.. As I use my center legs to move.. Your doing great... One thing I can say... With a good heart to give you information. Only no judging you or saying I'm better just sharing... Your boy could use alittle strength in his top line.. Get him to turn into you in round pen back up with you on ground teaching him to turn in rear... So he can strengthen his back.. Roll backs done right can really give him even more power behind and being his toplline up... Amazing relationship with him you have... Just telling you that boy is very smart.. Hes very present for you.. I could teach him to roll lay down bow fetch... He's great... Blessings and hope you do amazing at shows..., ❤️👏👍😊

I would be in favor of eliminating the horse shoes since they don't properly support the horses weight. One of the unfortunate traditions that needs to be phased out.

What a sweet and willing horse! Can tell he's so used to your connection and seat, the bridle is more for the rider's comfort and achieving a headset. Well done! Great way to increase your bond! Bravo!

What I admire about Matt: he's a human who, though still operating within the human system of 'doing life,' is also one that is always trying to make that 'human system' as good an experience as he can for the animals in his care too ... by making it as aligned to 'their best way of being in life.' 🧡
