I am a 60 year old mum from Australia who absolutely adores this band. My son started playing them at home when he was a teenager and I just loved them. I have their music so loud in the car my windows rattle. My son was lucky enough to meet Til about 6 years ago in Melbourne while he was doing promo for Lindemann, his other band. Had his pic taken with him, I was so jealous but wasn’t going to make him take his mum so he went with a mate who loves them too. My boy has the bands logo tattooed on his upper arm. Great band!!!

@@infin8reactions Yes and no, there is now a strong unity and friendship between France and Germany, but for many centuries until the end of World War II, France and Germany were deadly enemies. The French are a very nice people, but in general they often pretend that they only understand and speak French. Both points make it very special. And it is also very rare that a song in French becomes a hit in Germany or vice versa, maybe 1 or 2 times in a decade.

One of the most epic performances EVER!!!!!!

Great German band, they are huge in Europe.

I wasn't a big fan of this song at first hearing the studio version, but a couple years back a friend convinced me to go see Rammstein with her and I absolutely loved it. Rammstein just hits different live.

They are an amazing live band. The concerts are epic.

I'm taking this is a reupload. But I never get tired of listening to Rammstein.

I'd say always do live concert versions of Rammstein songs. The music is still great quality but the shows they put on are just epic. Always a huge pyrotechnical show with it.

Yep, Lee, they're from Berlin, Germany. Du hast mich = You hate me. The lyric translation is "You hate me to say that I will not obey." The lyrics then go on to ask whether you'll do whatever she says for the rest of your life for love and sex, and the answer is "nein" = "no". This was their big breakthrough song. All of their lyrics are in German (with one great notable exception, called "Stripped".) They're known for their shows being full of wild pyrotechnics. In 2009, the German government banned their hit album, "Liebe ist fur Alle Da" ("Love is for All" ) from public display in stores because of its depictions of sado-masochism. They always have great riffs.

Rammstein (from Germany) always have awesome videos, but their live shows are even beyond these. Here are some suggestions: "Sonne" (Live at Download Festival 2016) --> Hot as the name giving sun (Sonne = Sun) "Ich tu Dir weh" (Hurricane Festival / Rammstein Official) --> Great singing and insane stage action towards the end) "Mein Teil" (Live Hurricane Festival 2013) --> Read the story behind the song (a real case of cannibalism!) first: www.theguardian.com/world/2003/dec/04/germany.lukeharding „Willst Du das Bett in Flammen Sehn" (Paris Version) --> Pyro Fashion, power, everything that Rammstein stands for "Benzin" (Madison Square Garden) --> Benzin = Gasoline --> burns well. And maybe also a man? There are of course a lot more insane live videos of them: "Links 2,3,4", Engel, "Mann gegen Mann", "Mutter", "Feuer Frei", "Ich will", ... Have fun and rock on! Paris is more a concert movie with post production and released as Directors Cut“. You have to be aware that here a German band is playing in Paris / New York and the French / American audience is singing along in German. Music can unite! :-) PS: Falke (the keyboarder) is on the treadmill (and part of some really extreme things done with him) as he wanted to be part of the show and not just standing behind the keys.

Their performance of 'Mein Teil' is probably the best live performance they have done You should DEFINETLY check it out

Thanks brother really enjoy your channel Yes Rammstein was something else I dont understand a word of German but I did research their songs post concert lol I couldnt even leave my seat to go to the bathroom and not just cause i did not want to topple my strategically located beer glasses carefully arranged under my seat! Our band is generally a Hard rock band and I got the idea for Lies the song you reviewed from a Snow Patrol Song called Chasing Cars of course its sounds nothing like that song however i am familiar with The Killers and enjoy their music the pandemic has stopped King Ring Nancy in our tracks for now like everyone else. A lot of people will tell you it means "you hate," and when they did an English version they even say You Hate. But hate in German is hasst. Du hast means You Have. Here is how a native German speaker explained it. "Hast" is a conjugation of the base form "haben" which means "to have." To hate, would be the verb "hassen" which would be conjugated as "Du hasst mich" (you hate me). Though they are similar they are not homophones in that the S sounds in "hasst" for "hate" would be stressed a little more then it would in "hast" for "have." This is confirmed when Till says, "Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nights gesagt," which literally means "You have asked me and I have said nothing. "Hast" is used as the "haben" helper verb for the past participle "gefragt," of which its base form is "fragen," which means "to ask." >>

German native speaker here: You are right, "du hast" means "you have". But (and this is a big BUT) Rammstein like to play with words and the confusion of "you have" and "you hate" is intended.

Nice one Lee, it looks 1,000 times better without that filter.

Long story short, doesn't work with Rammstein. Because if you don't listen properly, a comment like that comes out. It's a play on words. Once Till sings: Will you be faithful until death do us part? (Willst du bis der Tod uns scheidet treu sein) Then it says: Will you be faithful to the vagina until death? (Willst du bis zum Tod der Scheide treu ihr sein)

Masters of heavy, crunchy riffs and live performances! You should put in description or title that this is an old reaction that was blocked because people are confused ;). Try two of their biggest hits: the amazing "Engel" live in Madison Square Garden and the song with one of the best riffs of all time, "Sonne" live at Rock im Park 2017. Cheers.

Ok so no particular order. Links 234 / Benzin / Engel / Mein Teil / Ramm4 / Buck Dich / Mann Gegen Mann / and my personal favs Rammlied / Ich Tu Dir Weh / Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen / Weisses Fleisch. They have a lot of other great songs. All MSG + Paris performances are amazing. Only react to live versions but beware Rammstein is very protective over their intellectual property.

In which corner of the world do you live that you haven't heard of Rammstein? Rammstein is probably the most famous German singing band in the world. The music style is Industrial Metal and the genre is called "Neue Deutsche Härte - NDH (New German Hardness)" in Germany. The band was founded in 1994 and has been playing in the same line-up ever since. If you like the style of "Du hast" (You have) I can recommend the songs "Ich will" (I want), "Feuer frei" (Fire at will) and "Links 2 3 4" (Left 2 3 4). Musically more demanding are songs like "Mein Teil" (My Part), "Ich tu dir weh" (I hurt you) or also "Mein Herz brennt" (My heart burns). Probably the best and most epic song to open a concert is "Rammlied" (RammSong). I hope you will go for it and go down deep into the rabbit hole.

Well in his defense... he has known of Rammstein for at least a good month now (this is a copyright released video from a month back) And... I only knew of Rammstein from a friend who shared one song with me... Rammstein is not mainstream or that well known 😋 but hey! @@pietg.6249 Sind sie ganz bestimmt nicht. Flake hatte mal gesagt, dass sie sich ungern einordnen lassen. Hätte es ähnliche Musik schon vor Rammstein gegeben, wäre der Stil von Rammstein ein anderer. Es ist auch nicht mit der NDW vergleichbar, wo es zig Gruppen gab die diesen Stil mitprägten. 90% der Popularität der NDH kommt durch Rammstein selbst. Der Anteil den Oomph, Witt&Heppner oder auch Eisbrecher daran haben, ist doch sehr überschaubar.
