That's a really great reaction! I didn't expect you to be too crazy about it because you didn't like Siouxsie and the Banshees but it might have helped that you dipped your toes in some postpunk/new wave music. Also, Missing Persons was an example of a more pop oriented kind of music that grew out of these avant garde artists. On the message, I ordered a veggie pizza, spinach/feta stuffed bread and a garden salad for dinner last night, but I don't think I've ever gone a full week without meat, and veganism is not even on my radar, so I'm pretty much a hypocrite on animal rights. One odd thing is, I've always been a fan of both Nina and Lene all the way back in pre-MTV days and identified them as the same category but didn't stumble upon their collaborations until KZread. Didn't even know if they knew each other, a German singer popular in the New York punk scene and an English singer from Detroit🤣 but I can't say I was surprised. Thank you again, this has been really cool😎

Lol, you called yourself a hypocrite on animal rights. Love your honesty, but dont be harsh on yourself. We can respect others peoples beliefs, without following them. In this case, as I mentioned, I am 1000% with them on anti-animal abuse and experimentation....but Ima eat a damn sandwich. 😁 Oh, and thank you. I am happy you enjoyed.

@@tazzznphilly It's a thing I've never had more than one foot in compared to issues involving human rights, which is weird considering how much better people the dogs I know are. Burger King's Impossible Whopper vegieburgers are surprisingly good.

Yeah, the Godmother of Punk. Nina Hagen was born behind the Iron Curtain in East Berlin. Her mother was a well-known actress, but her wish to become an actress was denied by the "Stasi" (the GDR's secret service and secret police) because her mother was living with the dissident Wolf Biermann at the time, and Nina was therefore automatically considered politically unreliable. Instead, Nina managed to train as a "Schlagersängerin". When Wolf Biermann was expatriated due to his critical attitude and could not return to the GDR, Nina and her mother were also allowed to leave the GDR. Nina is an artist who has always polarized people. The first album in the West with the Nina Hagen Band is still one of my favorites. Musically, she was unpredictable, her trademark was her pronounced vocal acrobatics. As I said, she was provocative in her music, but also outside of music. She caused a legendary scandal in an Austrian talk show, where she described female masturbation quite impressively. The host of the TV show lost his job as a result. Anthony Kiedis, frontman of RED Hot Chili Peppers, called Nina his sexual mentor. Nina and Lene starred together in a film with Herman Brood in 1979. I once attended one of her concerts.

greetings and love from Germany again....I´m an animal lover and a vegetarian...i dont really care for people anymore, with the exception of my love ones, of course. I hate when people get radical, criminal and violent and fight for their way of living, trying to force their opinions on others. Everybody should do what they like, you eat meat...fine....who am i to tell you out of it. Yeah, here in germany, animals are by law only a thing, an object. No living beings. If you torture, injure or kill animals here, this is considered property damage, so the penalties for it are low. In my opinion, rather shameful and backward. anyway, it was great that Nina tried to do something about it with this song. Vocally, I have to totally agree with you, it was hardly moving. Hope you give her a second chance. The songs "New York, New York", "Seemann" (a Rammstein cover)", "Naturträne";, "So Bad" or "Personal Jesus" showing more of her singin and acting skills by far. If you do more of her i kindly suggest to do her live performences, you wont regret it....Have a peaceful weekend and stay safe, buddy
