The hand gesture that everyone in the crowd is doing is the Fox Sign. It's Babymetal's version of the heavy metal devil horns, but it's a shadowplay fox instead. Foxes are very important creatures and are believed to possess supernatural powers in Japanese folklore, so Babymetal sort of adopted the fox as their spirit animal. Foxes appear prominently in Babymetal's lore, artwork, and merchandise designs. I was at PIA Arena for this show, so one of those hand doing the Fox Sign was mine. PIA was an incredible show. Any of the songs from that concert is worth watching.

@@Icipher353 Well Babymetal had simply no concept what a Devi should be. The Kitsune/Megitsune were in so far not to far away from the older devil concepts.

Please don't miss out the live in Japan official MV (2015) version, it's even more epic as an ender, with the original trio being more young and with the blaster sound of East Kami Band unlike this one with the West Kami Band and not an ender. They've been rocking out the current Europe Tour in almost every setlist finishing the setlist with this song, is definitely one of the flags of Metal Resistance album and chapter and they like to play this song while fans totally get into it with crazy mosh'sh pits and wall of death. Welcome back, great reaction.🤘🦊This was actually the second song of the concert (mostly they use it to close their shows, not this time). They had started with an epic opening song and performance that was very theatrical ('Metal Kingdom' live at PIA Arena if you fancy watching that too) so this was the first chance Su-metal had to speak to the audience and to thank them for their support. 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find and build your own new road. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. Herman Li and Sam Totman from British speed metal band DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. Interestingly DragonForce opened for BABYMETAL a couple of months ago in the US. You asked about the hand sign people were doing (Su said to everybody at the end to put up their fox sign🦊). BABYMETAL are all about the foxes, so where most metal bands and their fans have their devil horn hands🤘BABYMETAL do like a shadow play fox instead.🦊

My most favorite song from Babymetal is the rendition of “No rain, No rainbow” in Hiroshima from the legend - S - Baptism XX in 2017 . SueMetal is from Hiroshima and she is almost in tears at the end of that balad rendition. Better than all the other version because of her emotion state in that particular song, location and time.

The hand gesture is the Babymetal fox sign (kitsune). There lore is the fox god (japanese culture) and the metal god produced the three metals. Su-Metal, Moametal, Yuimetal. In 2018 Yui left due to health reasons. In 2023 a new metal was born, Momometal. So you will see the fox hand gesture at concerts and Babymetal themselves doing it.

Great reaction, and welcome back to Babymetal! Road of Resistance always unites the fans around the world. Here's a quick brief to appreciate Su's speach to the fans even more: Babymetal had a rough patch starting 2018. Their long-time 3rd member, Yuimetal, left the band due to health, Kami Band East guitarist Mikio Fujioka passed away, and they had to cut their 2020 tour short due to COVID-19. This affected them heavily, being a live performance group. Babymetal also took a hiatus in 2021, finally returning at the end of 2022. This concert, "Babymetal Begins", is a 2-day show, and on the first day, Momoko, who's supported Babymetal as a backup dancer since 2019, was finally announced as an official 3rd member, now with a mic and as Momometal. Thus, Babymetal was "reborn", and this song, while normally a closer, was used as a 2nd song for Day 2's show. In away, it represents Babymetal's re-newed journey, their new "Road of Resistance", to forge onwards with renewed vigor, and starting an intense 100 show world tour. In General road of resistance is the last song of their setlists, but never the first. You have to understand Moa and Momo alreafy did most of their work at this stage of a show. They already zrained the audience.

👍 👍 There were two sold out back to back shows at PIA ARENA (I believe that the opener for this night was (below) Metal Kingdom LIVE at PIA ARENA HQ Pro Shot from the For The Fox God channel (20,000+ sold out crowd chants in unison with the girls) Road of Resistance is usually their closer for each show.

This song is usually a closer for concerts, but in this particular case it was in the early in their setlist. I would suggest Monochrome next, same PIA Arena 2023 concerts, as well as the new live music video from Fox Fest that was released the other day for Brand New Day, which features Scott LePage, and Tim Henson of Polyphia. Also, the recent song Ratatata in collaboration with Electric Callboy. The Ratatata music video will likely need a copyright challenge, or just watermark to cover the video, as EC's record label will block it.
