Nice reactions. When this documentary was released she posted 2 images with 2 statements on social media on Dec 8th and 9th 2018, telling fans not to worry about her, and about her relationship with her manager Geir: "To everyone who is about to see the documentary. Remember it started filming in 2016. Things were different then. I was very tired. I didn't know if being an artist was the way for me. But making music kept me alive kept me going. Because it makes me feel divine and in touch with my purpose. This film will show you a little part of my journey. How I learnt to not be afraid of fame. How I learnt to fight hard for myself. And how I fell in love with all my fans. These days I am very happy. So don't worry. In the end we are all just lumps of flesh full of anxiety and love. I have accepted that. This world is so strange and I'm so glad to have found my purpose in it. I've learnt much about art and production. About dancing. And I have so much to create and explore. Bring it on." "This is my manager Geir (picture). We've had many adventures together and we'll have many more. A Norwegian paper called VG wrote an article about the coming documentary and I felt very disappointed reading it. Sometimes the papers twist things and they focus on the bad energy because that is what the world craves. The drama. The dirt. They were right at one thing, I do care about my music more than anything. Because it is my soul. My heart. But it made me sad to read about how they wrote about me and Geir's relationship. Negative articles full of drama bores me so much. Because they don't bring anything new to the world besides a moment of dramatic noise. A bubble that pops. The documentary shows so much more. The bad and the good in this job. I love my manager. Because he is one of my best friends, and it will stay like that for a long long time."

thanks. I've never heard of these posts, but that describes perfectly what I get from the documentary, how she learnt how to deal with everything that was harmful at the beginning, and how the relationship with Geir evolved too. As I said in my reaction, at the beginning they didn't really know each other and it took them a few months to understand each other and to be able to work together in a good atmosphere. I love how this documentary shows these evolutions...

I forgot to add, I had the opportunity to meet her when The God's We Can Touch launched , and was very aware of her personal space, but she is now much more comfortable with hugging/close contact, and reassured me that it was ok ..Saw her again two weeks ago, and it was just amazing, the connection she had with us was something specail, especially when she makes eye contact with you Just an absolutely beautiful human being

You're so lucky you did meet her several times ! And yes, I'm pretty sure it was just a matter of time for her to understand this behavior and to process it so that she can deal with it and even enjoy it. For some people, social contacts are natural....for some others it's not and needs to be intellectualized to be accepted. And yes, here eyes and the way she looks to people is totally amazing... Even through a screen I can feel this connection...so in real life it must be an incredible experience...

I've always loved that she ended the documentary by saying that. *_How do I want to be remembered? I want to be remembered as........a genius._* Mic drop, roll credits. It's kind of a boss move lol. She's so humble and gracious that imo she's _earned_ the right to be bluntly honest and just say it. It's also aspirational...it's her true calling. She's NOT like most humans. There IS something very rare and potent about her. Her ability to use creativity to foster empathy....both for others and for ourselves....is a very unique and specific form of genius. I think it's cool and inspiring that she's smart enough and self aware enough to recognize that and own it without shame.

I truly enjoyed your review of this documentary on Aurora. I felt a lot the same way when I watched it. You can tell her close circle, yes Geir too, care about her very much, and I really enjoyed the way that came across in the film. Thank you again for the review!

I get the business part, but my impression is she doesn't make songs just to get hits. There's more to it. She started writing out of necessity without any ambitions, and it seems the necessity is still there. The genius comment at the end, surprised me. Not because I disagree, but because I didn't expect her to say it 😄. I believe Magnus is still one of her best friends, and still produce a lot of her stuff. He stepped in to play drums when she played Mexico in 2023. She seems to be in a very good place now, and takes good care of herself. For anyone curious about how her mind works, I always recommend her Lifekeys talk. Watching her live in Oslo later this month 😊.

Very nice reaction Michael. Your comments were very insightful and exactly on point. Thanks for doing the documentary, it is painful to see the stress and difficulties she processed, being sick so much of the time, they didn't really cover that much, but she was ill a lot, it was a very demanding schedule and throw the stress on top of that, of course she got sick a lot.

Thanks, I really enjoyed watching that again with you, and hearing your thoughts. I feel like you had an excellent grasp and understanding, throughout, of all the dynamics that were happening. I feel like her merging her two personas was a huge step for her, as it signified her acceptance of herself as an artist, instead of just something she does because that's where life has taken her.

Great sincere reaction. You appear to read the actual events very well. You see that Magnus and her manager Geir do their best to prepare and protect her, but the events still takes their turn. She has explained that the panic attack was after a long, extremely tiring and eventful day, when her wardrobe was suddenly invaded by crowds of music industry people. And it just became too much for her. But she let the cameramen continue filming (One of them was a long time friend of her sister). According to them, she never asked them to back off. So they had to set the limits themselves.

thanks and I totally agree with you....it's hard to witness someone so sensitive having to deal with so much stress...especially when she never looked for that....but what strikes me is how accurate is this documentary when it comes to convey how she processed all this...I feel that at the beginning, she didn't understand what was happening...and within months, she understood perfectly and learnt to deal with all this, and even to play with it.

Obrigada!!!

Aww man....lol, you paused to say "I'm really glad he (Magnus) is there to help her." Not knowing that immediately after you unpause....it'll be Magnus explaining why he's going to leave the band. Tho, in retrospect, he stuck it out quite a bit longer after that. And even returned last year during that whole Brazil fiasco with her other drummer. It's very obvious that even if he's not a full time member of her band, the two of them are super close and always will be. If you haven't seen it, there's a _super_ cute and emotional video of Aurora playing live at some club months after Magnus had left the band...and just before she goes to begin Exist For Love, Magnus surprises her on stage...and sits at her feet to watch her sing that song. She basically sings it _to_ him and gets rather emotional and choked up. I can't help but wonder if Exist for Love was written specifically about Magnus. Yes, they're best friends...but I dare say it was more than that at one point. Aurora is such a freedom loving and freely loving person that monogamy just doesn't suit her, which I get....but still, I think it's pretty obvious there was more than _just_ friendship between them.
