If this is the first time listening to Pink Floyd for you.....then it's notable that this is the first song. A difficult hill to climb this one is. But that's because this is from "The Dark Side Of The Moon" album and the ten songs on the album actually make up the album as one complete piece. When you listen to the songs individually it can be choppy at the beginning or the end (like this song started with something fading out) because it's supposed to be played as one single piece. No matter this was an outstanding reaction. It was honest and true to the music.

Well, you hit it right on the nose. The band asked the vocalist, Claire Torry, to imagine what dying is like. Not much direction. We can hear anger, fear, bliss, a whole spectrum of feelings. And they have done it live ... with her and with other vocalists. Really great reaction to a cool request! Thanks 🤪

in the middle of all the songs we sometimes find a few golden nuggets, Pink-Floyd produced a few, like this track, but without a doubt their album "darkside of the moon" is a river of diamonds with 100 carat solitaires like " money " for the record, for the vocal solo, the young woman listened to the music once and was told to let herself be guided by her inspiration; only one take was necessary to obtain this diamond

You might want to check the song before... "Time" (usually cut with "Breathe reprise" as one track). To me it's the best guitar solo from the Floyd. Keep in mind that this album was released spring 73... That kind of sound, the perfection of the mix, almost everything was "breaking", AND it's timeless...

A lot of Pink Floyd albums were concept albums and are meant to be played from first track to last track, uninterrupted (except for turning the album over, of course!), and listening to one song is like picking up a book and reading a random chapter. So this song was about death and the various stages of denial, anger until finally coming to acceptance. This is the last song of side one, and it is about man's inevitable death, so you can imagine what the rest of the side sounds like!

As others stated, Dark Side of the Moon is a rock opera. The songs blend together. Another great song, called Time leads into Great Gig in the Sky. The experience of Gig is enhanced when you hear Time immediately before it. Gig is last song on side 1, so there is a natural break in the opera after Gig and before the first song on side 2 called Money, which was the only hit from this album. The break occurred in the old days of vinyl when we had to get up, walk to stereo and flip album over after side 1 ended

Beautiful reaction. You made the right choice reacting to the recording and not a video, because the perfection of Clare Torry's vocals exist for us and all time just in those two takes put down, spontaneously improvised, one day in the recording studio. Ever since, anyone can give it a try, even Torry herself, but the lightning was captured fresh and raw and produced in its essential form for the album.

Great first reaction to Pink Floyd. Dark Side is a masterpiece. Hard to imagine that this was produced almost a half century ago, in the full analogue/tape era. Time, and, Money are the hits, but as said this "album" was intended as one fluid experience. There is the also a famous urban myth that this whole album synch's up exactly with the film The Wizard of OZ. Results seem to be highly dependent on what hallucinogen(s) are assisting your perceptions at the time, though. 🤩 Famously Clare Torry, a session singer, was paid 30 Pounds for her work at the time, but many years later sued PF and EMI for a writing credit for her part of the song, which she was told to "improvise". They settled and she allegedly reaped millions of dollars. One other totally unrelated artist that might be worth a react is Chris Klafford. He was a winner of Swedish Idol, and an AGT contestant. Amazing singer and guitarist. He does these really pure, acoustic covers and originals on his channel, called the Kitchen Sessions. Imagine, Ocean Eyes, Chill in The Air, Either Way, and In The Silence, are all good.

Long Time Floyd fan, you are feeling exactly what you should feel. You are so insightful that it would be a crime if you didnt do an entire album reaction to Dark Side of the Moon, this is the 5th song on the album, the album is virtually one long piece of music, that is only seperated by named sections, like this track for instance. The album has set records, you can look it up, lol. But, my friend I am jealous of where your brain is, you need to hear the entire album, straight through, little to no pauses, you will be shook. I just made you a rich man, you'll thank me later, lol. Awesome, thanks. Subbed!

This song sums up my first experience with cancer staying at my father's bedside at the hospital for weeks as he battled and finally succumbed to cancer ....I've been a fan of Floyd for years but the song never hit me like it did in 2018 and since

😍 You said it right the 1st time. Floyd makes you feel. 😁 Even all the way up in the nosebleed section of Madison Square Garden! 😊 New 👍🏿 Sub! I did homework to this Album. 😳 6 yrs (JHS & HS) of 3 different Floyd Albums. 😒 The Wall to teens at that time was EVERYTHING! 🐰 #ENRGYZRBunny

The album is a story. Each song is a chapter. It has a beginning and an end. Listen to it that way for a whole new experience.

I thought you were going to disrespect the song because I saw this dude talking so fast and a young dude. But, you changed my mind and yes we can talk and interpret this song with however we feel and thank you, this also reminded me no to judge a book by its cover. You thought me something as well. I’m subscribing and liking!

Dude you need to listen to The Dark Side of the Moon album in track order. Each track transitions into the next and themes follow. So if you hear it in context you get even more😉
