my favourite bit o trivia is that they went on a tour in ikeas all over the country and I believe abroad as well.. except they "forgot"to notify ikea.. so when fans rocked up and they started playing or try to play they were invariably tossed out.

One thing very difficult to catch for non italians (and it tastes like Christmas just like Santa and Christmas tree) is that on tv is running "Trading places" with Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd. This movie is ALWAYS aired on Christmas eve and only this day. This since, i think 1998! Great reaction and all hail Ikea and Nanowar!

Norwegian Raggeaton needs to be next IMO. It's one of my favorites.

you have to understand that 1) Christmas Tree is a Yulefest tradition adopted by Christianity to counter the holiday spirit of pagan norse (plus Christ was not born in Decenmber . 2) Odin used to disguise as a wanderer and walk among humans and often leave some coins for the poor etc.. kinda ... one of the inspirations for Santa

Their original name was just "Nanowar". They added "of steel" (and on their logo "of steel" has clearly been added with Microsoft Paint LOL) after Rhapsody had to add "of fire" into their name to avoid copyright issues. That's just brilliant!

Well, this sing is a truly masterpiece about lirycs and some situation. It's so clever and fun! Odin had the Santa's hat because in Sweden there's a belief that Odin and Santa was the same person; the "strange" script is Hebrew, from Old Testament in the Bible: they modified some words to adapt to the song, but you can really find it on the Bible; the song itself has the exact structure of a Gospel song, sung it in churchs, but with the subject (God/Odin) changed and the Holy Saints/Holy Fornitures... Just wow :O It's amazing...

Watched this for a second time now, still had a good laugh of it. So, Norwegian Reggeaton has been recommend already, but there is so much more. Now that we're approaching the holiday season again, I'm looking for reactions for this wonderful song that I haven't seen. It's just so much fun. So many jokes. This was a fun reaction to watch, as the two of you truly appreciated the video. My favorite blink-and-you'll-miss-it bit is the instruction manual/holy book. The name of the product is in Futhark runes, and reads Dreki (the Norse word for dragon) which is the famed Norse dragon longship, also known as a drakkar. You see the ship pictured below, so what they've got is the manual for an IKEA drakkar. But the best bit is the tools it needs, pictured below: one standard screwdriver, one Phillips screwdriver, a pencil, a Viking round shield, a double-headed battle-axe, and a mug of mead or ale.

so Nanowar of Steel is a double metal pun -- Nanowar = Manowar, and the Of Steel is making fun of when Rhapsody had to change their name to Rhapsody of Fire! anyway, I highly recommend "Uranus" and "Norwegian Reggaeton" Turn on the subtitles for Norwegian Reggaeton because even though they have general lyric subtitles included, that one has parts that are not in English and the CC gives you the translation. "La Polenta Taragnarok" is also amazing.

I don't know why, but in italy, on Christmas eve there is always the movie Trading Places on tv. You can see it in the background on the very last scene, Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd. This song is amazing, this band is amazing!

two things worth noting: one is lost in translation: falegn-amen because "falegname" in Italian means "carpenter" second, concerning the quality of the song, they are absolutely great at doing metal, but also at mixing it with other genres. Here is with gospel, in "Norwegian reggaeton" it is with black metal and reggaeton, and they got another legendary song. Beside funny, they are incredibly talented.

Was so lucky to see these fellas live 11 nights in a row in the UK. They were amazing. And during Valhalleluja they put an Ikea Lack table together (black/brown) which then goes crowd surfing. Great videos - amazing live. They're so good we're off to Milan for the 20 year anniversary show. And yes, this is my go to song to get me in a good mood.

Watch Uranus for sure next. The songwriter for Nanowar is a legit genius. His day job is working as an astrophysicist. Hence a lot of the jokes in the Uranus video. And he speaks like 8 languages, which is why you get a lot of wordplay in various tongues, like the Hebrew-ish stuff in Valhalleluja. A few of the other words you might have missed. Systembolaget. Government owned liquor stores in Sweden. Falegn-amen. Falegn is Italian (I think) for carpenter, rough translation anyway. Shema Yggdrasil. Yggdrasil is the tree of life in Viking mythology. Shema is Hebrew, it's one of the core Jewish prayers, recited day and night. Odinai eloheinu. Basically, Odin is our god. Again, co-opting a traditional Hebrew word (eloheinu). Odinai ehad. Odin is the one god. So, extremely blasphemous if you're Jewish, lol. A lot of the random words at the end are names of Ikea kits. The horse meatball thing is because in Europe anyway Ikea serves complimentary meatballs, which everyone loved. Until someone checked on them and found they had horse meat in them. The last scene has Trading Places playing on the TV in the background, which for some reason is a traditional Christmas movie in some European countries. Fun fact, Nanowar of Steel tried to perform this song in an Ikea parking lot, without authorization. It went about as well as you'd expect.

But i love how the first part of the song is about plunder and rape and viking shit like god in the old testament when its smite this, smite that, flood the world ect., and in the second half he's chilled out like in the new testament
