You have to read lyrics for Gidle. They are the only group in K-Pop to write, compose and produce their own music. So you have to read them. They always have a message. They are also the only Girl Group in history to have 2 songs which surpass 100 PAK (PAK means No. 1 in all Korean chart)

I agree that he should check out the lyrics, but the "only K-pop group to compose and produce their own music" is just not true. There are quite a number of groups that compose and produce their own music, before and after (G)-Idle. Big Bang, Seventeen, BTS, Stray Kids are some of the popular examples, and Seventeen actually got the title of "self-producing idols" because they are known to produce both their songs and choreographies. But aside from that, Nxde is a masterpiece.

@@deltadeltaa You can say that (G)-Idle is probably the only group that actually produce their own title song since their debut song. Which I doubt many other group does

@@SuperIlovesnsdPlease don't take my comment badly, I love (G)I-dle and Soyeon is a really amazing producer :D. But yes not a lot of group does it, but there are still some others aside from (G)I-dle who does it as well. I'm just pointing out the OP's words that said that they're the only one, because that's not true. Of course this doesn't make (G)I-dle any less special. They are amazing. But just for other example, Stray Kids produce their whole discography by themselves from before their debut (in their survival show) until now. Their production line in the group is called 3racha and they produce and write every song in their albums except for 1 song, which is made by other members in the group.

Bruh, they are not the only kpop group who produces their own music. BTS, Stray Kids, Seventeen, etc. are all very involved with their creative process from the lyrics to the production. That claim of your’s is a straight-up lie.

If you want to check out more of (G)I-dle then go for it. I'd reccomend one of their 30+ songs but they are all pretty unique and I don't know your tastes. You can't really pick a bad one. They focus on mood and lyrics more than most and less on precise dancing. They aren't a cheer team. Starting with one of the "guide" videos is a logical next step. Offstage they are very close and loving and pretty goofy. Worth looking into. Their star is on the rise. This year (2022) they are the only girl group with multiple PAK songs. (PAK is a music chart achievement in South Korea where a song simultaneously reaches number one on the real-time, daily, and weekly components of iChart)

I see rip offs of Madonna's Material Girl video, Madonnas iconic cone bras, the vidoe for "Lady Marmalade from "Moulin Rouge". Is it a tribute? Is it a rip off?

It's Marilyn Monroe's "Diamonds are a girls best friend" that Marilyn took inspiration of for "Material Girl". Cone/bullet bras were prominent as an undergarment in the 40's-50's, Marilyn's time, before Madonna wore it as a fashion statement (1982 runway). Moulin Rouge the film is based off on Moulin Rouge nightclub in Paris. The film's (2001) fashion mimics the cabaret wardrobe prominent in the 30's. No, Nxde isn't a lousy rip off that uses the themes in a meaningless manner. It's portraying how females, especially the famous ones, are seen in different time periods as form of entertainment: dancers in a night club, Marilyn, and even Madonna could be considered as she's famous in her time. In the end credits, it's written the song is inspired by Marilyn (life wise) and Banksy (artistic wise).

@@life8148Gauthier's cone bras for Madonna are not the same as cone bras that everyday women wore. This was a copy of Madonna's come bra, but this singer is young enough to pay tribute to fashions that came before her. It was axnod to Marilyn and the Material. Girl video, and the outfits and setting were straight out of the Moulin Rouge video. It's cool, no one this performers she would know the references anyway. I know what she was trying to do, but she used some classic video references.

  • @life8148

@@lamusiclover2264 i was only stating where the exact reference came from, not only Madonna and Moulin Rougue film. Yes, they could also reference Madonna and the film. Cone (bullet) bras existed as an undergarment before and Madonna made them iconic. Gaultier remade it NOT as an undergarment/lingerie like it originally interended but as a fashionable wear in the 80's. Yes, Soyeon (the girl in the music video) wore the one similar to Madonna/Gaultier because the design is iconic during their time. But it also leads to Marilyn whom they're heavily influenced, not just Madonna. It's a double meaning. Both Marilyn and Madonna are labeled as "blonde beauties" in their prime. Moulin Rouge film was famous, but it was also based off on the cabaret nightclub with the same name, hence the fashion and the theme. They used the film Moulin Rouge because if they're going to reference a cabaret time period, people would immediately think of Moulin Rouge film because of how remembered it is instead of actual cabarets in Paris. Both Madonna and Moulin Rougue film are iconic and heavily remembered. That's the point why the music video was made: to adress iconic moments in history. I'm not saying your point is wrong, I'm only justifying why it isn't a "rip off". Best to say it's a tribute.
