Don't sweat the filter at all; most of us have watched these videos hundreds of times already! The only advice I'd have is to do your best to choose specific versions recommended by people in the community, as there are often special aspects of a particular show that make it particularly interesting especially for a first-time watch!

@@funnytoss Yeah They should just ask. Some performances are better than others. There is a rondo of nightmare then there is the super epic rondo of nightmare. Sigh, they saw the wrong one.

We can watch a "clean" video anyway - we are interested in your reaction to their creativity. May the Fox God protect you from blocking (there should be a sign of a smiling fox here).

Great reaction (and "Uncle Fester" was bassist BOH - you'd have got a proper look and listen to him with the Budokan Black Night 2014 performance if you fancy doing that or maybe just watch it for yourselves if you're curious). 'Rondo of Nightmare' is possibly the darkest of their songs lyrically, Su is caught in a recurring nightmare running through the dark from something she can't see. In the softest part she is hiding in or by a fountain, but whatever has been chasing her is still coming closer and accepting there is no escape she asks that if she is to die won't it at least show itself to her.

Nice good one! This song is amazing and easily one of my favorites. FYI on copyrights: A lot of it depends on the specific show too. You’ll have a much easier time with performances from Legend 1997, Budokan 2014, Budokan 2021, and Pia Arena MM 2023. Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 should be okay as well, but everything else is “iffy at best”, and an instant block at worst. Others can chime in here too! Trust me, if not, I’ll be recommending New Year Fox Festival 2015, MetRock 2015, Wembley, Tokyo Dome, etc etc., lol. But these are pretty much an instant block for the most part w/o watermarks, and even then it’s not guaranteed. Still, great reaction and look forward to the next one!! 🤘🦊

Another comment saying go and watch Rondo from Budokan 2014. You'll love the Kami band intro, and seeing Su elevated in the dark, singing about being relentlessly pursued every night in her nightmares..., it's incredibly good.

Finally getting to the older stuff ‼️‼️ I like their new music but I was waiting for yall to get into the “metal resistance album” or the self titled “Babymetal” album

I know a lot of people like the Budoken version (especially with the Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro) but I love how she captivates the smaller audience at the Fox Festival. The intimacy is what grabs me. I am sharing the nightmare.

It's kind of a shame that you didn't do the Budokan 2014 Black Night performance, because you guys would have really appreciated the "Mischiefs of the Metal Gods" intro and the theatrics of that performance. The performance in this video is from the Black Fox Festival at Akasaka Blitz in 2017, which was a much smaller venue than Budokan with a crowd of only about 1,200. This was actually the last time that Rondo has been performed live. Babymetal was created from it's inception to be a gateway into metal for more mainstream audiences. The idea was always to deliver the essence of metal with some of the harshness smoothed out to make it more approachable.

Just to get some feedback since I'm going to request Akatsuki shortly and trying to narrow it down to one performance. Babymetal - Akatsuki (Budokan 2014) Babymetal - Akatsuki (Dark Night Carnival 2018) Babymetal - Akatsuki (Budokan 2021) Each has something I love differently from the others.

Nice, I’d say either Budokan 2014 or 2021, and let them decide. Younger Su with a heavier band focus, or older Su with a slightly better overall performance I reeeeally didn’t care for their outfits in 2018 lol. Just my 2 cents. 🤘🦊

⚡ / 🔥 😱 🔥 "Rondo" is a great answer to anyone who says that BABYMETAL aren't really metal. : ) Su has a penetrating clarity to her voice that makes it perfect for heavy music. Without having to boost her volume she can still be heard through the heavy drums, bass and guitars. You've already reacted to 'No Rain, No Rainbow', but there are two other solo songs from the first two albums, 'Akatsuki' and 'Amore'.

I just love everything about Rondo of Nightmare. I love the lyrics. How it stands out in the Babymetal catalogue as something different. I could see this as a dark version of Alice In Wonderland and would totally be down for that. I love the inclusion of the waltz . . in metal. And like all their songs there is something different as the years progress (obviously 😄). There is an epic version with the Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro and this version which is very intimate. Just a great song by the Queen.

"I could see this as a dark version of Alice In Wonderland and would totally be down for that." The temporary / working title for this song when it was being developed was "Kill the Alice". It was based on an image of Alice falling into a cave and flaying around in the darkness.
