This sort of stage wouldn't be used on a tour. These big production stages are one-off builds. They'll use them for a couple of nights at a venue and then that's it. They call it a "LEGEND" concert and they do 2 or 3 per year. They'll film it and sell a bunch of blu-rays to re-coup the costs. The stage that they tour with would be a stripped down thing...like just a video screen for the back of the stage. But those smaller shows are no less incredible. The music and crowd interaction and the choreo as presented from a small 40 foot stage is the band's real meat and potatoes. They ace the energy of the smaller shows and when they get to these huge custom stages, that whole vibe just gets cranked through the roof.

Hi Pete from Ireland to haunt you again 😊 after you do finish trilogy , you should view road of resistance live in Japan, that's the title you search for, that show is when Su was 17, and yui is the third member, its just as epic and awesome as this recent one, then maybe follow comments suggesting doki, etc, I just think you will find the comparison fascinating and breathtaking. By the way you are amongst my top fav reactors because of you obvious sincerity. A lot of us have heard these many times and our joy is to see the fan base grow and watch reactors like yourselves getting so much from babymetal 😊

just remember they recorded Doki Doki Morning when they were 12 and 11 years old. the video for that song was recorded the next year on a shoe string budget, borrowed clothes, the girls taught the fake band how to dance, etc. Su has been on stage since she was 6 years old. there are videos that have her singing at 8 and 9 years old. Amuse, the management company, signed her when she was 8 or 9 years old. she is actually the daughter of her father that was also in a famous band also. she sung with her sister for a few songs. Babymetal was actually formed around Su. Koba-Metal, the man that came up with this idea, saw her at i think 9 years old and thought she was strong enough to lead a metal band and not be drown out by the music behind her. at 16 years old she had already been in front of huge crowds. how many 16 years can say they have done that?

You have seen some early songs - Megitsune is one of the earliest. They are all just born performers with unbelievable ability and charisma. I prefer the recent performances, even of the old songs, but you do have to go back and see the earlier performances. Believe it or not they have been at this level since 2013. Its hard to imagine the level of charisma and ability Su had even in her teen years. And say what you want about Amuse but they have assembled a fantastic team to support Babymetal. It will be great fun to see you react to the MV of Doki Doki Morning (and it would be great to see you then do a recent live performance of it). I've subscribed for Babymetal and will wait impatiently for more reactions.

Great reaction, and you're right ROR often finnished the show . This is a complation of the 2 shows Black Night and Clear Night it was 12 of 14 on Black Night and 2 of 14 on Clear Night . Overseas fans have a lot of enfusiasm as well, many travelling to and being part of the audience in Japan . They get this response anywhere in the world from their fans . My throat was sore for a week after every time i saw them in the UK from singing and shouting . They sell out everywhere they go, fans doing their country proud everywhere Should check out the L A Forum show 17.500 fans and 4 huge mosh pits 2 either side of walkway dont sell your US BabyMetal fans short . Same in the UK, they call it their 2nd home . They learnt to sing English for their overseas fans in tribute to them a song called The One because their fans were learning Japanese to sing along with them . The most i paid in the UK was £57 for a ticket to see BabyMetal. Tickets to get in an hour early were more expensive. I queued around 12 hours each time, and 3 times it was winter, but i was standing right behind the ones that paid to get in early 😂 BabyMetal is truly loved by their fans worldwide You mentioned the last reaction video their shows must cost the GDP of a small country they have enough devoted fans to take over that country, maybe the UK 🤣🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

But man seeing these ladies live put in 200% into every single song of every single performance is unreal! They're legit athletes in my opinion, this can't be easy on their bodies yet they bring that infectious relentless energy all the time! And they're adorable af of course, it's really fun seeing their theatrical skills in action, watching them go from this over the top cute kawaii smiles to extremely serious face for some songs .. truly a marvel!

Hell yeah guys! This song is such an epic and quintessential Babymetal song that, in my opinion, best defines Babymetal: The lyrics/message is about finding the courage to overcome the challenges with carving your own path towards your goals (hence, Road of Resistance). Just like Babymetal's own journey to establish themselves in Heavy Metal. The hard hitting and heavy music with Su's angelic vocals, the crowd engagements, and the energy along with the message truly encompasses what Babymetal is all about! This song has been a staple show closer for almost a decade now (although not the closer at this show). Su-metal has said in a recent interview that while they see many different ways the crowd reacts to their performances around the world, Road of Resistance always ilicits the exact same response from every crowd in every country. After you do rest of the Trilogy of Lights (Shine, then Arkadia), here are a few more suggestions as you wanted to see their younger days, along with the cutsie/heavy mixture: *Doki Doki Morning (Official MV):* 1st song ever by "baby" Babymetal, live debut in Nov 2010 (age 12/11) when they were part of the idol training group Sakura Gakuin, as the "heavy music club". MV came out a year or so later. You'll want to do the Official MV for this song vs the live to see them super early. *iine (Official MV):* 2nd song by Babymetal. They tell the world that they will not be constrained by traditional musical expectations. This is one of the rare songs where the MV is better thant the live for the sheer "WTF" factor. *Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014):* One of their heaviest songs performed in the most adorable fashion, about a game of hide and seek. Also, the OG Kami Band East shows off at the start. *Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan 2014):* Heavy and ominous Su-metal solo about loosing the fight against an unseen never ending nightmare. Shwocases her vocals at age 16. Kami Band East shows off again. *Onedari Daisakusen (Legend 1997):* The cutest, and most adorable "Limp Bizkit" song, as 14-year Yui and Moa explains how to be spoiled rotten little devils and use every tactics in the "cute" trade to trick dad into spending money and buying them all the shinny things. Fred Durst's voice sample makes an appearance lol. Look forward to more Babymetal! 🤘🦊

All versions are good, depending on the quality of the video obviously, but the iconic one for this is Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL) which also has a classic Su death stare. To fully appreciate the journey it's normally best to watch a live version from around the time it was originally recorded although I'd recommend the videos for Doki Doki Morning and Megitsune for early and Metal Kingdom, which really shows the spectacle of their live shows in Japan, for something more recent.

  • @Icipher353
    @Icipher3533 ай бұрын

I was towards the back on the floor for this performance, and although we were at the back, the view of the stage was still good because they were so high up. The stage they were on was at least 25 feet high! The crowd was very loud during the singalong, probably the loudest I've heard it at one of their shows. The whole Babymetal Begins show was the most intense Babymetal show I have been to because it was the moment of Babymetal's rebirth and a celebration welcoming Momometal to the group. Just to clarify how ticketing to Babymetal shows in Japan works. Tickets are allocated by lottery, and there are only two categories of tickets, but they can be Pit tickets or Seat tickets - Cho Mosh'sh: which is the premium tickets close to the stage. Only one ticket per person can be requested and they cost ¥22,500. There are only limited numbers of these tickets and they are usually only available to The One fan club members. Mosh'sh: which is further back and comprises most of the tickets in the arena. Two tickets of this type can be requested and they cost ¥15,000. Babymetal mosh pits are about the friendliest moshpits you can be in. Everyone is smiling and highfiving and having a good time and there is no aggro. Babymetal is happy metal and they bring that optimistic vibe to the audience. The One is an incredible fan community to be a part of. When you go to a Babymetal show, you don't go just to watch it, you go to take part in the performance. Regarding the use of phones, it's actually not permitted at Babymetal shows and security will remove people who film during the performance (although that doesn't stop a few sneaky people from streaming it). Babymetal's shows are incredibly polished because they have spent 14 years honing their craft and a lifetime training to perform at the level they do. Moametal said in a recent interview that leading up to one of their big shows they train six days a week, so a tremendous amount of work goes into every performance. Their very first song was "Doki Doki ☆ Morning", released in 2010. Here are some videos of Doki Doki ☆ Morning that you can check out: Doki Doki ☆ Morning official music video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lZ2myrNxma_Kkto.html The very first live Babymetal appearance ever at Sakura Gakuin Festival 2010: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dWGmlsSamtjbabw.html Tokyo Idol Festival 2011: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iGSYsaONf5apkbA.html Babymetal Returns January 2023 Live (recent performance with a surprise): kzread.info/dash/bejne/gol3lrd8Xa-ahKQ.html

Great reaction. Live is where BABYMETAL are at their best ... and you are not wrong about calling them the best - I've seen many of the recognised great live bands and artists and I was never better entertained than at the BABYMETAL concerts I've been fortunate enough to go to. I don't know if you are familiar with British Power/Speed Metal band DragonForce. Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song (it is the only one they were involved in) and recorded the guitars for the album version. They have said they made this more technical and faster than most of their own songs thinking they would never have to play it live ... and that they had to practice hard when they did perform it with BABYMETAL at an awards show in London in 2015. About the song itself - 'Road of Resistance' was on the second album (Metal Resistance - released in 2016). It is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow.🤘🦊🤘 Their very first song and video was 'Doki Doki Morning' ... yes please watch that, I want to see the expressions on your faces - also the second video for the song 'Iine' (that is iine pronounced ee-neh, not Line) where they were setting out the ground rules for any restrictions they were going to place on themselves (basically they decided there would be no rules, no restrictions, no boundaries, no limits).🦊

Nice reaction. This song is a staple in most, if not all of their shows. And yes, the crowd at Babymetal shows, especially in Japan is just on another level. I was fortunate enough to see them at the beginning of March for their two Legend MM shows in Yokohama and it was nuts. Btw the ticket prices in Japan are very reasonable, I paid about 120 € for a seated ticket (and no, not by choice, since the tickets are given out via a lottery system). For such a show that is very very reasonable. The mosh pits in Japan are called mosh’sh pits since they are, as you noticed, not about physical violence but rather having fun and everyone is very polite and considerate of each other. If you want to hear what it sounded when Babymetal started, “ Doki Doki Morning” was their very first song 😂 🤘🔥🦊

Guys phenomenal reaction, truly wonderful. From the comments to your shared joy in experiencing. Such a delight. And THIS performance. This does start off stern-it always has-but by the end the absolute joy Su, Moa and Momo are radiating could power a major city. These are seasoned, hard-working pros who have honed their craft over many years and to see them with their wonderful smiles leading this enthralled audience is a rare and very special thing. The "Road of Resistance Live in Japan" might be a video to consider. It is this song and all the elements are there. But Su is 17 and Yui and Moa are 15-pretty sure I've got the ages correct, I will hear if I haven't. Ijime Dame Zettia Live at Sonisphere 2014 is an iconic, must see, performance

So fun watching along with you, thanks as always! I hope you catch some full concerts, whether it's for content or just for your own enjoyment. They have always been this epic, when they had 0 budget and were borrowing clothes from friends and family to match looks they were epic, their first tour they were epic, their first festival in the UK they were epic, every single thing I have watched over dozens of concerts and years is epic. They are just so something else. Since you asked, this is (i'm pretty sure) their first ever appearance on stage as Babymetal from 2010 while they were still part of Sakura Gakuin, literal 0 budget borrowing clothes backing tracks for music. After this they played at malls / SK shows for another couple of years. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dWGmlsSamtjbabw.html

Another great reaction lads. Yeah, Babymetal really are that good. One point is that their discography is at a very high average level. At least half their songs would make it on a Best.Of album, probably 2/3. Pretty much every song is a banger, all killer no filler, and some are utterly amazing. Enjoy the trip fellas, I think you'll love all of them. You're right about how everything about Babymetal is excellent.

Welcome to the metalverse! i was lucky enough to be at a sold out concert with Babymetal in Stockholm in november 23. Even with a smaller venue, around 5000, still the most amazing concert ive ever been to, and ive been to many. And its not just the songs and the production, its the precense of the band and the girls. You havent mentioned it yet, but notice the happiness of the girls performing. They love it and that reflects on the crowd, be it 20 000 or 2 000. The best act in the world right now. Cant wait to see you react to Headbamgerrrrrrrrrrrrr and Metali.

One of the concerts that got me (from UK) was the Sonosphere 2014 - there are a couple of OKish video on line you can watch. This was the first concert series outside Japan in front of 65000 UK metal heads when they were young - of course they were already big in Japan, .. They did 5 songs - the first was was greeted with - WTF - second - OK this is good......3rd - mosh pit, 4th - joining in the singing, final song - "we want more...." . Just that progression where they won the harts of the UK metal heads in the space of 25 minutes.

Babymetal started as a sub-unit of a 'school themed Idol group' called "Sakura Gakuin". Both formed in 2010. The idea of Sakura Gakuin is to nurture young talents age between 10 to 15 years old to become "Super Lady". After a member finish their 3rd year of middle school (15 years old), they have to graduate from Sakura Gakuin (leave the group). Then, new students will join the group. Sakura Gakuin has a number of sub-unit, referred to as 'club activities' and Babymetal is the heavy music club. Their 1st ever song is called "Doki Doki Morning", and was released in Sakura Gakuin 1st album. Babymetal went independant after Su-Metal graduate from Sakura Gakuin in March 2013 due to their raising popularity. The two founding members Moametal, and Yuimetal (now former member, left in October 2018), continued doing both Sakura Gakuin and Babymetal until their graduation in March 2015. New member Momometal joined Sakura Gakuin as new students in May 2015, then graduated in March 2018, before joining the group officially in April 2023. There are multiple versions of early performance of Doki Doki Morning you can react to: Babymetal - "Doki Doki Morning" live at "Legend I (capital i, not L)" 2012 (without live band. Music is played on backtrack. 'Air-band' on stage). Babymetal - "Doki Doki Morning" live at "Budokan 2014" (with live band. About 4 month before they became a world phenomenon) If you're interested I would definitely recommend watching some Sakura Gakuin performance to see where the Babymetal girls get their "performance training/style". Sakura Gakuin - "My Graduation Toss". This is one of their most well known song. (there's a music video released in 2013. There's a live performance at "RTG 2012" but the members are all emotional during the performance due to it being the last song of the graduation concert) Sakura Gakuin - "Planet 008". This is just one of my favourite. (no music video. Live performance at "RTG 2012") *Note - RTG 2012 is the graduation concert where Su-Metal graduates from Sakura Gakuin. There are other performance of same songs on different years but the members are different. Keep diving into the Fox-Hole!! 🦊🦊

The counterpart is the lottery ticketing system used in Japan. For example, I lost both days in "The ONE" lottery and won both days in the general lottery. This is a pain when you need to make plans and bookings.

Micheal Jackson and Elvis Presley I think. You can't forget how much power Elvis had, especially over the women lol I love this band so much. I've said in the past that one of the things I love about this band is that even though they are superstars, each one of them, but they are still so super humble. Proof is just the fact you saw her take her IEM out of her ear to hear the crowd, and the way she talks to the crowd, which if I remember correctly she's thanking the crowd for everything and for the strength to continue going down further uncharted territory, or something along those lines. Every singer I've ever seen that is known to have a bit of arrogance *cough cough Oasis, cough cough*, wouldn't say anything like that, would just do the show, wouldn't care about production factor, and would never thank the crowd. They always think the crowd should be thanking THEM. But Babymetal LOVES their fans and does everything they can to show it each and every time they perform. That shows humbleness and gratitude in my opinion. One thing you guys COULD do (AFTER you listen to the rest of the trilogy dang it!!!), is to start at the very beginning and work your way up the albums. This way you can see how they matured musically as they got older. It's an interesting trip when you do it that way. Just a suggestion. I've seen a couple of reactors do it that way and they loved doing it that way.

I like the Budokan 2021 performance, but at Makuhari 2023 they had a special arrangement because of a surprise called Metalverse.
