Simon & Garfunkel remains a reference. I listened to the Tom Ball cover without and with Video. I found it exceptional. I just listened to Simon and Garfunkel again. I love Tom Ball. But, I think I understand perfectly what message you want to convey. The fact that Tom goes so high in the high notes takes away this tragic poetic emotion and resonates more like an interpretation that does not go with the lyrics of what the song is about. In the end I think it should be interpreted simply (in my humble opinion) but create this atmosphere that S and G have perfectly understood.Wow, I hadn't thought of that. You are right. While loving the perfectionism and mastery of Tom's voice, it is not right in the tone that he wanted to reshape for this sublime song. And yet I pay attention to all this but here, I missed the truth. I listened to the performance but not the value of the intonation that this marvel requires. Tom, while performing it as a singer, ultimately drove this song the wrong way on a highway, right? Ok, ok, ok, my brother. I am french. I am Métis. You must have a beautiful voice. There was a Chinese contest back in 2019 over to 2020 called SUPER VOCAL. Three guys did this in English and killed it. Please take a look and type in SUPER VOCAL then SOUND OF SILENCE. You won't regret it.
