The child in the video is not Rod Stewarts kid but child actor Alex Zuckerman. He played in the movie Hook as Latchboy as well and a few other shows etc. The song was written with his kids Sean and Kimberly Stewart in mind who were 8 and 9 at the time of the writing because as Rod Stewart said in an interview "I realized I had missed a good 5 years of my kids life" due to touring and being on the road and so busy with his career.

Cheesy 70’s campy movie. “ SARGENT PEPPERS LONLEY HEARTS CLUB BAND”.. Aerosmith, Billy Preston, Alice Cooper, etc.

Britt, what's ironic is Rod now has a reputation for being a soft rock icon. But he got his start in a hard rock band called the Jeff Beck Group. One of the first heavy metal bands. Check out their cover of Howlin Wolfs song I Ain't Superstitious. A great blues rock version of that song. He also reunited with Jeff Beck later in the 80's doing a cover of Curtis Mayfield's People Get Ready which is an amazing version. Rod also was with the rock group The Faces. Their most famous song is Stay With Me another one to check out.

According to Google What is the message of the song "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart? By growing and going through the hardships that we experience as young people, we are then in turn able to give back to our children and future generations in helping them to grow and become better people. This is the perfect song for any parent to dedicate to their children.

Stay With Me with The Faces, You're In My Heart and and First Cut Is The Deepest are three of his best songs. Rod had to adopt a more crooner singing style after surgery on his vocal cords in his 60s.

Raspy. That’s the word I’ve always heard used to describe Rod’s voice. By the way, in 1976, KISS had a country-sounding song called Hard Luck Woman that they initially thought about pitching to Rod Stewart. Their original drummer, Peter Criss, had a raspy voice so they let him sing it. Now you gotta check that song out. Lol There’s a live version from their album Alive II. 😁

A reworking/rewording of Bob Dylan's '73 same-titled song. At first, Rod didn't acknowledge Dylan's song, but eventually relented & decided to share songwriting credit & profits. What a guy.

Remembers me of a scene where I was sitting at the kitchen table with the girlfriend of a friend and her stepbrother making fun of Alphaville (another composition "Forever Young" + "Big in Japan") and saying something about "Big in Japan" like "It might be a big hit in Japan, but I don't like the song" - later on the stepbrother revealed: He is the leadsinger of Alphaville and indeed sold a lot of albums throughout the years especially in Japan. For me Alphaville fell in the same category of pop like Rick Astley (being more a James Brown and Oldschool-HipHop-Fan it wasn't my cup of tea, but I respect those people as musicians - which try to make some money).

Funny, because his early stuff was soooo different, Rod himself is clearly not Forever Young. But I still love this song - you've got a dad/son thing going on this week! I feel that Rod has a sharp, slightly raspy voice - and it works really really well.

Listen real close to Rod Stewart, and listen real close to Sam Cook, that raspy soprano tone Is present in both of them
