Yeah, this performance is EPIC! At the beginning there is a wide space between Mitch and Kirstie, where Kevin was sitting playing the cello for the prior song. During the choral piece (Christus Factus Est - brought by Avi), Kevin was offstage putting the cello away. If you look just before and just after Avi's bass boom, you can see that Mitch moved closer to Kirstie, Scott followed and Kevin came onstage next to Scott. It's really a shame that the recorder never showed the whole stage again. But you can sure hear Kevin's crazy beats! Some will say that Avi busted the speakers, but it's actually just that the phone mic can't handle the lowest notes. Must have been incredible to see in person. Thanks for the great reaction!

The story is that Mitch had downed 2 Red Bulls to counteract jet lag. That circumstance gave us all a wonderful performance!

Kevin was putting away his cello at the start (during the choral piece), and then joins them on stage, but the person with the phone never zooms back out enough to see him. He's there (you can hear the beat boxing after they do the initial la, la, la, la, at the start)

They actually did record "Take On Me." It is a really great example of Mitch's range, as he goes from quite low to very high in the space of a few bars. Mitch's low register doesn't get as much attention as his high, but it's absolutely lovely.

This is absolutely one of my favorites. When I want to show someone the unbelievable things Mitch can do with his voice I show them this and Gold, but my favorite video is still PopSpring 2016, and the favorite song of the 4 is Can’t Sleep Love (but specifically with Mitch rapping).

Another one for the Popspring Pestering Team! Seriously though, it definitely is one of the best live performances on YT. Clear audio and visuals, plus three original (and very different) songs that show the variety of what they can do. Not to mention the MJ Evolution, which is even better than the original video. You can't go wrong 🥰🥰🥰

The thing about Avi is, yes he's blown speakers. There is a fan video of them singing Hit The Road Jack in the early days in a small venue, and Avi blows the speakers with his first note. He was so embarrassed! He damaged sound systems so frequently in the early days they took to bringing their own equipment to handle his voice. Or so I've heard. But with this one, this is a massive auditorium. With a massive professional sound system. And Avi STILL damaged the system! That's why we call that an Avilanch. Delightful reaction guys!

This is what is referred to as the Where is Kevin? video. He joined after putting his cello away. This happens when you let Mitch drink 2 Redbulls before a performance

Last week they got their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. They are the first a cappella group to get this. We Pentaholics are so proud of them. Are you going to see them in concert when they come to the U.K.? In May?

Have you ever watched Avi blow the sound system live? Hey momma/Hit the road Jack? Also, on Natural Disaster live he hits so low it shakes everything and sounds like a train coming. Let's do some Avi solo?

Rest in Peace to that poor person's cell phone for having to try to deal with their sounds. Kevin is there (there was a space between Kirstin and Mitch that is gone once you hear the beatboxing kick in). Kevin was putting up his cello, according to what folks have posted about his seeming absence, and then he joined them on the stage.

This is definitely a one-off. There will never again be a convergence of Mitch, jet-lag and Red Bull! 🙂 I can highly recommend Kevin's Fifth and PopSpring 2016. Live, 3 originals and Evolution of Michael Jackson.

Legend says Mitch is human?….My theory is angel, alien, goddess? lol

Oddly enough, Pentatonix is in Singapore right now. They have a concert there March 6th before going on to tour Japan, Australia and New Zealand. They will tour UK/Europe starting in May and then will start their summer tour in the USA and Canada in August.

@@tundiel I got a great crotch shot on Scott on my phone and then I got to watch it on my tv. Alexa was being quite the bitch though and I had to keep typing it until it popped up. That was great. I love it when they break the speakers. I heard that the Star Vista was not pleased with them. Tough. I thought it was hysterical.

You guys are terrific...love your reactions !! Many Pentaholics think this might be their best, or maybe just the most popular !! Since you give special attention to live performances...I recommended several months ago that you react to their "2016 PopSpring" concert video in which they sing 4 of their original songs. In one respect, that might have been the best live performance, since MTV sponsored the concert, so the audio and visuals were amazing. Please put it on your playlist... guarantee you won't regret it !!

Avi breaks the sound system and Mitch breaks the sound barrier. This video should also be called where is Kevin..lol...he was just off stage putting his cello away. He was there.

This seems like a good place to put this... A group of 5 people called 'California Roll' performed on The Masked Singer US last night. I wonder who are hiding under the costumes? 🤔😉🤣

I read that Mitch was suffering from jet lag and he drank 2 Red Bull drinks back-to-back and they kicked in on stage.

Avi has literally blown out speakers before hitting those low notes.

Keep Mitch away from Red Bull and Avi away from speakers! A good, pro video of them live is their PopSpring 2016 concert. I push reactors to this because of the quality of audio and video- done by MTV. It also has three of their originals and Evolution of Michael Jackson. It is about 15 minutes long and gives a really good look at their true abilities. They have only improved since then!

I've been campaigning for them to do 'PopSpring' for a while now. And when I say 'campaigning', I really mean annoying and pestering 🤣🤣🤣 I'm sure they'll get to it eventually. Patience and perseverance are the names of the game, especially as it's the only way to shut me up 🤣🤣🤣

There are at least 8 videos from this same concert (by the same channel), and they are all fantastic. It wasn't difficult to see Mitch had about two too many Red Bulls.

They have actually done Take On Me on one of their albums. Mitch and Avi stole the show. So glad to see you back with PTX, now I am wondering if you guys are going to react to The Story Of One Sky. There’s a film festival in London this month and this mini movie/music video has been nominated for an award , the script and music are both by Dimash , a 3 year project, and you have both seen several of his music videos, this is incredible , but also extremely powerful and is not supposed to be blocked at all, at the request of Dimash. Unlike any other video I have seen, I would love your perspective ❤

They've played at this venue this past week as well! They're on tour in Asia at the moment. Have you two done the Popspring 2016 concert from Japan? Professionally recorded by MTV, featuring three Pentatonix originals and their early masterpiece medley The Evolution of Michael Jackson.

The sound is much better and there is the bonus of an audience walkthrough to Rhianna's '4 5 Seconds' as well, which features a mini duet between Avi and Kevin.

I'm 😄 over you thinking they were referring to the band Aha, but it's understandable since sometimes the titles get too long if they try to get all the info in. If you want to look up the lyrics the name of the song is Aha! , original artist is Imogen Heap. They did an official video for the song that's great for scary movie night/Halloween. Mitch was lead in it too, but as you can see in this video their live performance takes it up a few levels til it's like an opera & the lyrics don't matter as much as Mitch & Avi making everyone swoon.

Great reaction... This is still my very favorite video they do. Yes, Kevin was on stage. I wish they would have shown him at least once. I have seen them 4 times in concert. They are amazing. I can not pick a favorite song. There are too many I love. Between Avi's low notes and Mitch's high notes, it doesn't get any better!

I didn't see any music nerds post an answer to your question. Avi's note you were wondering about is in the ballpark of an Eb2 (I say in the ballpark because my piano says it's an Eb2, but I can't remember the last time I tuned the piano). That's not even really testing Avi's range -- the final note in Hallelujah he hits a Bb1, and if I remember correctly he hits a G1 in Black is the Color of my True Love's Hair (that's a Peter Hollens/Avi Kaplan arrangement, and it's awesome).

If Mitch was singing outside my Post Office I'd be quite happy to go to work. Not sure I'd get anything done though 😆😆😆 Poor Kevin. He's doing crazy beatboxing but you can't see him. This video is otherwise known as the 'Where is Kevin?' video. Others have explained, so I won't repeat. Their cover of A-ha's 'Take on Me' is great, but there's no video for it. My current favourite song (as it changes ALL the time) is 'La La Latch', a mash up of Sam Smith & Naughty Boy and Sam Smith & Disclosure. It's an early one, and the two songs mash so well you'd think it was one song. This was brilliant, your faces were priceless! Thank you for finally doing it, I can stop pestering for it now. Not stopping the pestering for other stuff, though * coughPOPSPRINGcough * 😜

@Brit Pops React Ren is a singer/rapper/multi-instrumentalist from Brighton. He is here & most other social media as renmakesmusic. Start with Hi Ren. He does not Copyright so you don't need to fiddle about with trying to prevent that. Ren releases independently. so if anyone claims to be his label, report it to him, he will deal with it between medical treatments and carrying on producing and releasing the work he stockpiled in advance. A guy named Jens will show up in comments and give you a full on bio that explains that.

Me too as soon as I saw it. I've wanted to see their reaction to this. I'm not a big fan of their music vid for this. This performance on the other hand is flipping amazing. Avi breaks the speakers and Mitch smacks you so hard your brain is scrambled. I've seen other vids of this song and none compare to this one. And on a fan cam how many years ago? Impressive

@@tundiel I've seen them do this a number of times. Avi speaks first and then they get into it without the beginning in this one. They were good just didn't have the same intensity I guess is the right word. I was impressed this was a 9 year old camera phone! That's a great vid for that!

The story is that Mitch was seriously jetlagged and so before going on state he drank three Red Bulls. The rest is history.

Kevin put Beyonce away during the pre Mitch vocals and returned for that.

Problem with bypassing the official video, is without seeing the visuals in it, you have no idea what the song is about. At lleast go back and watch it for our self. Just don't turn off the video until after the cloe up of the car trunk/background. They did do a little known version of AHA Take On Me, as BP2 mentioned. I don't know why it's not more widely known, because Mitch did a great job as lead on it, again it was an upgrade, and I like it better than the original. It's on KZread somewhere. I hope since this was a fan cam and not copywrited you didn't use a big filter or their name in big letters across it. This one deserves a clear screen to enjoy "Mitch on way too much caffeine". The music vid for this is the only one I haven't liked yet.

Avi damaged the speaker.

I really don't like the recording of this video, only showing Mitch and loosing all the geniuses ( aka Avi and Kevin)
