Their is so much to know and learn about IU. From her difficult childhood to her auditioning at age 13 to being rejected 20 times before signing at 14 and debuting in 2008vat the age of 15. She has become to top singing entertainer in Korea with more #1 hits than anyone else by a factor of 2. In Sept of 2022 she held her 1st concert since the pandemic at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, becoming the first Korean female singer to headline a concert their, selling out the 90,000 available tickets in 30 minutes with over 450,000 people waiting in the queue. She is also an award winning actress and an award winning model. She is a Global Ambassador for GUCCI in addition to being the model/spokeswoman for several Korean brands in addition to New Balance, Pepsi and Domino's. Since 2014 she has written many of her own songs including composing and Producing them. Her KZread channel has released 2 live clips from her 2022 concert, her song Eight and My Sea. In January of this year Rolling Stone Magazine included IU on their list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time.

Woooow! Talk about a talented person who has got her success 🤯❤️

IU is one of the most respected artists of Korea, often called "Korea's little sister". She is an amazing singer-songwriter, as you found out, but also an excellent actress: her Hotel Del Luna is very much worth a watch (and it is shocking how scary someone this cute can be). Blueming _seems to be_ also a part (more specifically, the final part) of a trilogy, begun some eight or so years previous with You & I, and continued with Above the Time that came out together with Blueming. DKDKTV give a convincing argument in "IU UNIVERSE Explained by a Korean [above the time, Blueming, You & I]". She has a whole series of personal growth songs: 23, Palette, Eight that deserves to be heard too. And BBIBBI is super fun but also deep look into papparazzi and stalker "culture". Oh, also, Good Day is kind of legendary, this is the song that AFAIK made her famous.

IU is incredible. She writes a lot of her songs, it's an incredible actress, the nicest person ever, and her discography is pretty much all perfection. She did do Killing Voice (with a cold), and last I checked, it was the only KV with more views than Mamamoo. There is also a live version of this song that was recorded at one of her concerts that is worth checking out. I could literally recommend any of her songs as a next listen, but she dropped a video of "My Sea" on her birthday last month. It was from the Golden Hour concert she held last year in Korea's largest stadium and really shows off her vocals.

I knew IU as an actress before a singer. 10 TV series, 2 theatrical films (or 5 if you include cameos and voicework). It was after Netflix 'My Mister' (2018) that I stated listening to her music.

It seems that I was too slow. Everyone already gave you all the good stuff about IU so I'll give you some info about the MV. Blueming, in a nushell, is about trading text messages with someone you like. You'll notice that she receives gray 'messages' in the form of gray flowers, gray packages and etc. When she sends her 'messages', they're blue. This mimics how sent texts are shown in blue and received messages are shown in gray. Hence Blueming = texting. Simple as that. My, this was a short one.

It seems like every song IU releases is an instant classic. Her list of #1 hits is longer than a lot of artists' complete discography. Have fun exploring it! As for suggestions, my favorites are Love Poem, BbiBbi and Last Night Story. It's kind of an odd list but I won't explain why so as not to spoil anything. Btw, I watched the behind the scenes video for Mother Sky. Looks like you had fun filming it.

@@K-RossReacts It's hard to make a career in the arts. It helps to diversify your sources of income so best wishes on the voice acting. For me it was passion rather than career. I always had a day job. Until I was 40 I worked on the side as a roadie and sound engineer, then when I thought I was getting too old for 18 hr work days I switched to doing sound for theatre since that gets you home before midnight. On a whim I took an acting class, fell in love and spent the next 20 years doing theatre, mostly acting but also writing, directing, techie stuff and just about everything else but rarely above the fringe or semi-pro pay level. Congrats for making a career of your passion.

I don't listen to a lot of IU, not sure why exactly, just never really took the time to dig through her discography. But, i know she is super talented and has a beautiful voice. And she is one of the top soloists in Korea, as a number of people have already stated.

IU! She is probably the most popular soloist in Korea (VERY popular domestically). She debuted in 2008 at 15 I believe. Jiu is actually a big fan of IU and covered one of her songs at Dreamcatcher's Halloween concert in a police bunny costume kzread.info/dash/bejne/X6KfxMxwfKSrqtY.html . It makes sense because their voices are actually kind of similar. IU has many great songs, so I will just recommend my favorites: 1. Lilac 2. Coin 3. Bbibbi 4. Eight 5.
