That was a blast! Thank you for this! This video now has more views in three weeks than Breakable's had in more than two months, so Courtney's picking up steam. BTW I haven't read about anybody getting blocked for not blurring her new videos. I think that's one of the perks of dumping the corporate structure😃

Courtney certainly has got her mojo back! She made an impact on Voice UK back in the day, later got the golden buzzer on AGT - inspired by Janice Joplin - I think it shows! The message for Simon Cowell is quite clear! Thank goodness that she is a free spirit again - she deserves so much respect for sticking to her own plan!

Courtney has got everyone paying attention to her new direction of independence, which btw, these last 2 originals songs of hers you reacted to, "Breakable" and "GDLH", are a response to what she's had to experience in the past 4 years since she went mega viral on AGT and got signed by Simon and Arista records/Sony Music. She won't tell details, but she expresses her experiences in her lyrics with some hints on social media of what she endured with them. AGT removed her viral video not long ago which was the 4th most ever watched video for them. That says it all that something went down. I hope one day she gets up at one of those music award ceremonies and throws it back in there faces, like when Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman" goes back to the high end clothing store which shunned her and after spending loads of money at another store with Richard Gere says "See what you missed out on". That would be a very well deserved slap in the face to those music executives who try to control their signed artists and change them like they supposedly tried to change Courtney. If you haven't yet done so, go check out Courtney's viral video audition from 2018 on AGT that got her world wide recognition, which is also where she had some hate despite her overwhelming popularity with the viewing audiences. Because of how differently Courtney thinks, and how she has never conformed and never wavered from being who she is, even as a 9 year old child, she sparks conversations with music lovers from both sides of today's picture perfect style of singing and as you said her imperfect style, which is that old school rocky edginess of expressing attitude with her gritty vocals and sassy personality. Courtney has all the makings to break out and make it big if she gets exposure and can market herself enough to let word of mouth take over after a while. She's just got that "It Factor". Who won't love this girl? I guess, those who aren't open to all styles of artistry might. Unfortunately there's a few of those around.

Sony wanted her to forget her original songs and stick to covers. Sony wanted her second album to be more covers not original music. If she can get past INS she should do a few performances solo, or with Grace Vanderwal.

Your reaction to this song was a reaction masterpiece! Your reaction was all over your face which ranged from wonderment to appreciation of Courtney's new music and her direction. By the way, you'd look great in the flowered pants suit from her video! Her last two original songs, Breakable and That Girl Don't Live Here Anymore, are very honest; truly autobiographical in a way I can't recall any other artist doing in such a tranparent style. You really get Courtney and your comments are on target and intelligent. What I really liked was that by the time you got halfway through this song you were already singing the hook. That is the hallmark of a successful song. I look forward to both Courtney's next song and to your reaction to it.

Great reaction Britt! I love this song and Courtney’s vocals are beyond compare. I see that you can’t sit still when you listen to it either. It’s so good to hear Courtney’s originals hit the airwaves. This s is such a rockin’ song. Her first original release “Breakable”, which you also reacted to, is such a beautiful, soulful song. The difference in these two show just how versatile Courtney is. Can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.

Hi Britt. Always love your Courtney reactions. It feels like you're a true believer in Courtney's incredible talent, just like the rest of us. You had the message in the song and video just spot on. Fabulous song by Courtney and the lyrics are brilliant. Courtney is such a powerhouse as a songwriter. It has such a good vibe that you can't listen to it and not want to move with it. It's a complete 360 in style from her first release, 'Breakable', which was a beautiful ballad, and just serves as a reminder that Courtney can sing just about anything and be great at it. I love how so many people view Courtney as this hard core, full out, stage dominating rocker, and then when she releases her own music, she leads with a sensational gritty ballad (Breakable), and follows it up with an uptempo song that has the feel almost of 1940's Swing. (That Girl Doesn't Live Here). When Courtney is in control of her own destiny, amazing things happen. She has such a huge library of material that she has written over the last several years that she couldn't release. Now that she controls her own music, it has been said to expect a release approximately every month. So buckle up. You're going to be busy and it's going to be a wild ride. Can't wait to see you reacting to all of Courtney's original material.

Hi Britt. Danilo here. Hope you recognize my name. I am an Angelina's Angel and I subscribed to you 'cause of Her. I bumped into this video of yours by chance so, since I like you Very much, your comments are always on point and intelligently given, I thought " let's see what she has to say about Courtney. I must tell you. I've seen all of Courtney's performances both on the VOICE UK and on AGT and, togheter with Grace Vanderwall, she was my favored singer song writer......THEN ANGELINA APPEARED. As always I enjoyed your commentary. Again spot on. Good job Sister Angel ( I'm sure you are and if not, yet, you'll be). Peace and love.💖

Thank you for this wonderful reaction! I love your presentation style, and I agree with your taste in music. I have been following Courtney since she was on The Voice Kids UK at 12. She's unique, that's for sure. I hope things are coming together for her now, she doesn't belong on a talent show anymore, but on the professional stage. At least, that's my opinion. And yes, I interpret the lyrics the same way you do. To me, this song is Courtney's "Control." Janet Jackson came out with that when I was about your age, early 20s. Janet was also 18, and ready to forge her own path. I hope Courtney can do the same thing. She's bringing pantsuits back and reinterpreting rock 'n' soul for a new generation. I hope you will continue reacting to her, as well as Angelina, I'm also hooked on the barefoot princess, been following her since she was 7. I hope both of them have huge and wonderful careers. Their voices and artistic talent are a blessing for us all. It's a hard career, but people are going to recognize and promote them, I hope.

She is so happy and so energized to write and produce her own music with Kevin Bowe's help. The sky is the limit so bring it on Courtney we can't wait. 😊

Really great reaction and analysis, Britt, to a great song by a great singer/songwriter/entertainer! Courtney co-wrote that with veteran songwriter, Kevin Bowe, and Courtney brings it alive with her inimitable style. As you noted, the song has been labeled by some as jazzy rock or swing. I guess beauty is in the ear of the beholder, because Courtney's voice is very "pretty" to me. But I get your point; it's certainly not a traditionally sweet and smooth sound (although she does a little of that too). We should expect another original to drop soon.
