And yeah, it's basically a "training camp" to take the best of the best from Japan, and make the ultimate player The "powers" are more of a visual representation of their "skills" and capabilities, like being good at reading the camp, or knowing where the ball will end so they can go there to score a goal (And yeah, you need Ousama Ranking in your life)

@@Maxsteel_4014 in Inazuma they have literal powers On Blue Lock, stuff like "having a good sense for scores" are represented by stuff like a trail of smoke, or like, the character, but made of shadow calling the player to the perfect position

The thing that makes blue lock unique from different other sports anime is the concept of "egoism" And that's pretty great to watch And it's definitely worth the watch!

I'm not usually a fan of sports anime, but this show absolutely SLAPS!!

Blue Lock is just amazing and the openings /endings are awesome too!I loved it and read the manga right away.

Blue lock is different from other sports anime like hakyuu where the focus its on Teammates and teamwork, here the focus its around egoism, in being the best so Japan can finally win a world cup. I thing if you have this competitor vibre somewhere, this show will resonate with you and the hype that every episode deliver

blue lock is many things but not "like real life"

While they're both sports animes, I'd say that Haikyuu and Blue Lock are very different. Haikyuu is like the peak of what a down-to-earth, inspirational sports anime can be and Blue Lock is like epitome of the deconstruction of your standard sports anime tropes. They're both very good but for very different reasons I feel. I highly highly recommend both Also Blue Lock only started airing last fall (including when the world cup was going on 👀) and is currently a couple episodes from finishing it's second cour (or the second half of the first season, ie the second 12 eps)

This anime is EPIC. Definitely one of the best sports anime ever.

OMG Im so happy my fave reactor is appreciating the Blue Lock music, it goes so hard and the show is absolutely FANTASTIC as well

Btw the first op and the second ed are both by the band Unison Square Garden who are an AMAZING band who you should definitely check out. One of their most iconic songs is the Kekkai Sensen ending "Sugar Song and Bitter Step" (which I def recommend listening to all the Kekkai Sensen osts, theyre very good)

Blue Lock is a very very good anime and super good manga. very underrated and i don't think it gets enough attention. the story and characters are brilliant.

it’s criminal you haven’t heard of/reacted to “moriarty the patriot”openings and endings. It’s an anime about sherlock holmes and his archenemy moriarty, but focuses on moriarty as the main character rather than the detective. It’s so slept on and you would definitely enjoy the openings. Hopefully you see this.

As someone who's whole week revolved around watching new episdoes of blue lock, I'd say you'd absolutely love it. It really shows how football is not about the power of friendship but the egoistic mind of a striker and I'd love to watch you react to it luke.

This show is already a 10/10 sports anime. Great animation, hype in every episode and if they keep following the manga story it will break the internet next season.

Not the biggest fan of sports anime, but this one is AMAZING. The moment one releases im always really hyped!

This is such a great anime! The manga is even better! It’s essentially a football anime where there in a death game of sorts with there football careers being on the line. And it goes against standard sport anime tropes which makes it so unique. The animation is great when it matters and the soundtrack throughout is fantastic

I mean if you have seen Ao Ashi, it shows that youth players career are on the line even in the real world. It is not that unique in that sense. What makes it unique is that it takes a Shonen formula into a sports anime.

I have extremely minimal interest in football, and yet Blue Lock skyrocketed to one of my favourite anime. You definitely don't need to watch/play football to enjoy it.

If you really liked the first opening of Blue Lock, you should check some other songs by Unison Square garden, like the opening for Kekkai Sensen second season, or the opening for Tiger & Bunny.

You definitely need to check out the DORORO openings and endings. They're seriously underrated :)

This anime is just dumb fun honestly! It doesn't have the best animation but it makes up for it with great art and awesome character development plus very hype moments!

Ok 😄I'm glad you did these. Funnily enough, my fav opening is opening 2 and my fav ending is ending 1 as well 😁. So, to answer your questions/thoughts: 1) YES ABSOLUTELY you should do Blue Lock soon. It's been so awesome seeing you wholeheartedly embrace anime, I was hoping you'd do a reaction to at least one currently airing anime per season (such as you are with chainsaw man now). I know you'd adore Blue Lock as well as Spy Family. 2) Those are indeed ordinary humans with extraordinary talents and that's the stylistic choice behind their eyes glowing like that. Also, one of the main characters is voiced by Levi Ackermann's VA- just for your info 😉(wink wink, nudge nudge, nod nod). 3) Blue Lock is certainly unique, but not for the reason you mentioned 😄 you're brand new to anime so it's ok for you to have only been exposed to the mostly fantasy/supernatural stuff. The anime based on everyday life stuff is called "slice of life anime" and it's a big genre 😊 Also yes, Blue Lock is mostly about football. But it's entertaining enough that even non footy watchers can grasp it and enjoy it. So... Keep up the good reactions, Luke.

IMHO, based on your previous reactions, you'd like it. It's high octane fuel action most of the time and for me it is similar to the "Dance Dance Danseur" in a meaning that I don't necessarily care about football or ballet, but it's so captivating to look at people who care about it so much.

Yes!!!!. Pegasus fantasy, Blue Forever, Soldier Dream, Blue Dream, Can't Say Goodbye, Love Fighter. The Saint Seiya Omega songs aren't bad either.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REACT TO BLUELOCK!!! It's soooo good. It's pure undiluted hype. The second opening is perfectly representative of how hype the shows are, and I don't even like football. It's like squid game mixed with football.

I was waiting for this one, oh boy 🙏✨ for me it's the true hype of the season. Music and OST go so hard in this anime

Blue Lock is like the Chainsaw Man of sports anime. It's an outlier of the genre. It does things differently and it shines brighter than all its peers. It manages to breathe life and tension into panel of the manga and still of the anime, and it is hype incarnate. I binge read over 160 chapters of the series in one day due to how goddamn hype it was. (Second only to Bleach, which i read 230 chapters of in one day)

I like literally JUST started this anime and I LOVE IT! I'm watching as the episodes air and I highly recommend it! I couldn't hold back and immediately started reading the manga! AUGH!

Oh I love this anime! I saw the trailers and went straight to the manga afterwards and each arc it just gets better! Blue Lock delves into the theme of "egoism" and how it can be good. It doesn't explore much in the sports technicality but the sports psychology which I really love. As a competitive person, it's one of my favorite manga & it's currently the top selling manga right now so there is hope for a 2nd season!

Just a tip if you start blue lock! After the ending song theres a bonus scene for each episode called 'additional time' :) they're rlly funny and add to the characterisation!!

Blue Lock's extremely hype. This is the first time Studio 8-bit(the animation studio who is animating Blue Lock right now) ever took on the task of animating a sports anime but they do know how to bring those hype shots xD. Kinda still wish Studio I.G got the project though. If Season 2 of this anime gets a big budget, which I'm pretty sure it will, then it has a huge chance to be Anime of they Year just because of the pure hype it will inject in the audience's veins.

Human Crazy University and Dungeon Black Company both have bangers for openings. They both only have one season, but they are really good shows imo. Human Crazy University has a more unique animation style that reminded me of Kappa Mikey and I won't spoil the premise as it would affect watching the show. The opening is "Catastrophe" by NANO. Dungeon Black Company opening is from Howl Be Quiet.

ok so the best explanation for the glowing is they are using skills they know, and that's just the visual. basic understanding of the anime: EGO is everything, screw teammates... you don't need them, fight for yourself to survive.

It's a really good anime. I don't watch any sports except maybe women's volleyball but sports anime is great. High tension... You can hear the characters' thoughts while they experience defeat, growth, etc. I highly recommend this anime, haikyuu (alot of episodes) and Aoashi.

The bassist in USG is the composer of "catch the moment" to which you had reaction before.

If you watch the made in abyss ost I recommend listening to the first layer, hanazeve carnavena, the rumble of scientific triumph, transcendence and hanazeve, and anything from the 3rd ost!

Quick synopsis. Following Japans 2018 World Cup exit they Japanese Football Association decide they need a selfish arrogant quality striker (The opposite of a Japanese mentality) to push them towards there goal of winning the World Cup, so they recruit a bunch of young talents and push them to there limits in a bunch of challenges with thheir dreams on the line. Fun Fact: Japan wore the kit from Blue Lock during the 2022 World Cup. This show is currently airing atm

its got 2 OP's and 2 ED's cuz its a 2 cour anime (24-26 episodes instead of just 12) so its still airing it probably had some delays if its still going since it aired in october last year and something epic probably happened for people to be yelling about it to get u to watch the OP & ED

blue lock is an amazing anime, through and through. i’ve watched a couple of sports animes, but nothing comes close to blue lock’s ability to surprise the viewer. it’s not all positivity, like most sports animes are, which makes it so much more real!!

If you like the sound of Unison square Gardens (1st opening & 2nd ending of Blue Lock) you'll like listening to the openings and endings of 'Ballroom e Youkoso'. In addition I'd like you to react to the openings and endings of 'Kuroko no Basket' and 'Free'

Blue Lock is one of the biggest hits of 2022/23, and will go down as one of the greatest sports anime of all time. Certainly helped that the World Cup took place at the same time, especially the way Japan beat Spain. As much as I love sports, I don't watch a ton of sports anime - but this is one I love. Without spoiling, basically JFA has decided to go all in on winning a World Cup. One man has come up with a surefire way for this to happen: he has noticed that every World Cup winner has had a world class, egotistical striker. Thus he invites the best U18 strikers found in Japan to compete in a system he founded called Blue Lock, and those that survive the system will go on to lead the Japan National Team in the future.

Blue Lock is a new sports anime that debuted last October and is currently still wrapping up its first season right now (I think it has 4 episodes left?). It's a bit different from most other sports anime, choosing to eschew the traditional high school sports tournament narrative and instead focusing on a training program to find the next great striker that Japan needs to actually win the World Cup. This leads to a difference in focus and a much more competitive tone than the typical story these kinds of anime tend to go for. Sports anime tend to either go for big moments and lots of hype in their matches, or for a more small scale story with lots of character development. Blue Lock tries to go for both, and while the character development isn't bad by any means, it's definitely a hype series at its core. I think it's worth a watch, as is Haikyu, the other sports anime you've reacted to before, and many many others in the genre. Sports tends to be a genre that is underappreciated by the anime community as a whole, so seeing the hype around shows like Haikyu and Blue Lock is always very exciting for me.

The anime is full of football, it is excellent and prepare the scenario for each game. It is the opposite of all sport anime where the key is teamwork, the key is the ego of each player. The last games had been crazy that why is really hype right now. I read the manga and the best is just starting now.

YEA FINALLY and best Sport Anime 🔥

The second part is airing this season. So it's been getting a lot of hype. It defiantly deserves it! Essentially the plot is about an elite soccer training program designed to produce the worlds best striker. It has some of the most hype matches in all of sports anime. As far as other OPs to check out I'd recommend Violet Evergarden and A Place Further Than The Universe.
