This 💯 too many people that have never made music in any shape or form usually say nothing but ignorant bs about the greatest singers of all time. The ones who get the most hate (sometimes) imo are usually the most skilled.

For a change of pace, Billie Eilish's song 'My Future' is this wonderful lofi style. It's also worth checking out Ocean Eyes as one of her early songs, before she developed the wonderful breathy style she uses nowadays. It underscores how talented she is and how absolutely intentional her current approach is.

This song is actually about climate change. Their lyrical ability is top tier. If you listen again with the climate change aspect in mind you’ll notice. She said in an interview that the religious sector really came after her for this one , but she was just trying to make a song about climate change. Thanks for doing Billie reactions. There are entirely too many people who say she can’t sing, that all she does is mumble. They think you have to continuously belt to be a good singer. She and Finneas won an Oscar for their James Bond theme song for the movie No Time To Die. If you listen to that one, I highly recommend the performance that was live from the Brit Awards.

I think that once you understand this context for the lyrics and the predominantly anti-climate ethos of American Evangelical movement you read who "good girls" are and why they go to hell differently.

The thing a lot of folks love about Billie Eilish is that she's raw and honest. She has spoken about her Tourette's syndrome, depression, and some of the issues in her life. Thoughts on fame, and attention, and the bs criticism women get on appearance. On a positive side, her relationship with her family is so very endearing and wonderful. (Parents, brother) Side note: her brother and her did much of the music in the animated movie Turning Red. ha.

I want to see more Billie reactions! It's so rare to find someone who hasn't already been inundated with her work. Her MVs are total art.

It’s such a joy to watch someone else get as exasperated over her voice as I do. Like how?!

I'm glad you did this - Billie & Finneas do well on Howard Stern. When you have spare time [almost never I'm sure], I believe you would enjoy the documentary about Billie by R.J. Cutler [Feb. 26, 2021] "the World's A Little Blurry" - it cost me about $6 with Apple+ but it was well worth it. It is long [perhaps 20 minutes too long] but even so - it is very good and very powerful. Billie is - I believe [I'm 69 with lots of listening experience!] a generational phenom - she has been put down by some because she doesn't have a phenomenal voice like Adele, Ariana, Mariah, Amy Winehouse or others - but her voice is emotive and genuine - "idontwannabeyouanymore" by 15 yr. old Billie is excellent and will last. As you know by the age of 20, she has 7 Grammys and her 5 in 2020 were history making, as was her Oscar for "NO TIME TO DIE" the Bond song for the movie with the same title - she and Finneas received their Oscars on March 27, 2022 - Billie was 17 and Finneas 22 when they wrote this. She performed it live at the BRITS [Feb. 18, 2020 and then a year later at the Academy Awards (March 27, 2022). Billie is the youngest person born in the 21st century to win an Academy Award - though awards don't mean everything, they do suggest that to many of her professional colleagues, her recognition is not a fluke.

It's a trance l! she draws you in with the softness then hits with those runs....

Her Skin care is that she is still under 25!

God, I love having an eclectic taste in music. Jamming to some Death metal or ska and then swapping over to some Billie is always a vibe

She has been singing since almost before she could talk. She may be young, but she has years of practice, including years with the Los Angeles Children's Choir. Add that on top of having a great natural voice.

This song is actually about climate change and all the horrible things we do to our world and the consequences...making this basically h*ll on earth. In that respect, all the good girls and boys are already in h*ll along with everyone else. I really love the line as though god were talking saying "Man is such a fool, why are we saving him? Poisoning themselves, now asking for our help, wow."

It's her synesthesia. She hears sounds as colors so she just creates a song that looks beautiful to her and everyone agrees it is hauntingly beautiful.
