Dusty said that she got her performance moves and gestures from her male friends who were drag queens. She was worried about not appearing feminine enough. Thanks to the Pet Shop Boys for returning this fabulous talent to the world and giving her a new lease on life. They truly loved her, and so did we.

Actually, Reputation is not a PSB track. Half of the Reputation album is PSB, the other half is not.

Dusty was amazing. It is one of the happiest collaborations ever that PSB sought her out and together they wrote a new and vital chapter in her career. Truly great song.

This was me and my boyfriend's song when we met back in 1990 which holds many happy memories, but sadly he passed away two years ago on his 50th birthday, so the song is also tinged with a measure sadness. Still, it's good to have no regrets and music is a memory. 🌿

Dereck you should react to Donna Summer's Dinner With Gershwin .. it was a UK hit (reaching number 13) in October 1987 and was her first UK top 20 single since 1983 .. excellent song

Loved your vid Derek 😄🙏 Both Dusty Springfield and Liza Minelli released albums with Pet Shop Boys involvment during '89 '90 and both are favourites of mine. Neither album come off as contrived. Both Dusty and Liza sing with so much emotional conviction that it blows me away. Dusty's "Reputation" is powerful, and is almost a sister song to "In Private" with it's chorus ending "...who cares what they're whispering, whispering..." You can't go wrong with Liza's "Results" album either. Favourites of mine, "Sorry I Said", "Don't Drop Bombs", "Losing My Mind". Enjoy, if you get the chance 🙏💗

There are a full album of Dusty (the most famous song is Nothing Has Bee Proved) with PSB and another album with Liza Minelli. I want you to react to Suburbia, Left to my own Devices, Se a Vida e, New York City Boy, etc. There are so many BIG songs you haven't been reacting from them.

Finally! This song together with Reputation on the same album still manages to reduce me to tears. Why I don’t know.

Dusty was a well known LGBT+surporter considering her own sexuality back in the day hidden from the public. PSB brought Dusty back to the public eye with scandel from the movie of the same name. She was one of the best singers the UK has produced having hits all over the world in her own right.

Towards the latter part of her career and unfortunately her life Dusty Springfield formed a working relationship with the Pet Shop Boys (PSB). This song In Private was just one of the singles that she released from an album she made with the PSB another one you really ought to check out and perhaps make a reaction video for is the title track of the album called Reputation.

This was basically a song about a closeted couple, and she is saying to her partner that she doesn't want to be in a couple where she has to lie about her sexuality because her famous partner has to be closeted. Dusty was pretty much out most of her life. She never denied that she was gay. She was amazing!
