You are wise and smart traveller using the train for your trip. Avoiding the traffic jam and of course exact time depart and arrival. Hi 👋 - thanks for checking out our video and commenting. The trains are much nicer than we expected - very nice and clean and they seem to run very much on schedule. Even the economy class seems very nice. The food is also very good; much better than you will find on trains in the United States. And the countryside is so beautiful. We decided to take the regular train from Bandung to Jakarta since the stations are so far from the downtown area. Arriving in Gambir our hotel will just be a few minutes by Grab. It will be very nice once the bullet train goes to Yogyakarta. -Chris

@@388_days For the best choice for the regular train from Bandung to Jakarta, try the Panoramic Class. It's amazing. The view are incredible. In Jakarta pls take the public bus or metros, MRT, LRT. It's quite convenience all with AC and the fare is very cheap. Only 3.500 or only 22 usd cent for all route flat price.

Hi Kevin and Judy! The trains in Indonesia have been very nice and clean. What’s surprised us is how many people speak very fluent English. By now you must be back in Europe. For some reason we thought you were heading back to the States first. That must have been a very long flight from Seoul 😱. Have a nice glass of wine for us and enjoy some good pizza. Those are two things we have started to miss. -Chris and Steph

@@388_days We'll be back in the US in another month, but we are NOT rushing it! Our flight from Seoul had a layover in Helsinki. It was long, but it wasn't terrible. We don't actually mind long-haul flights (but we typically will pay a little more for a quicker flight versus taking a 30+ hour trip to save money). We currently are in Madrid, and I can promise you that we had a LOT of pizza. Between Orvieto and our two weeks touring with our daughter, we had a good amount of pizza and pasta! We are looking forward to slowing down and playing catch up this month because the US will be full of fast travel, and we are a bit underwhelmed about it! But it will be wonderful to see family! Take good care of yourselves. How much more time will you be in Southeast Asia?

We didn’t get to go this time 😢. Unfortunately, we both got sick and had to stay indoors most of our time in Surabaya. But we will certainly plan to visit Mount Bromo the next time we visit. 🙏☺️

We wanted to take the slow train to Jakarta from Bandung because we like slown travel. It was also more convenient for us because the train stations were close to our hotel. We ended up on Luxury class. We’ll post that video in a couple of weeks.
