She had the song of the decade in the 90's with One Sweet Day and the 00's with this. Unreal.

I’m assuming ur not from the US cuz this was the BIGGEST SONG OF THE YEAR AND EVEN DECADE here. It spent 14 weeks at #1 and tho it’s not her longest running #1 hit, cuz the longest one is “one sweet day” from 1996 which spent 16 weeks at #1, it’s still more iconic and memorable than it, weird, I know. In fact this was her BIGGEST hit ever until “all I want for Xmas is u” started BOOMING in popularity the past decade, which is another weird interesting fact cuz “all i want for Xmas” came out in 1994 from her first Xmas album but it wasn’t NEARLY as popular as today, it wasn’t until the 2010s when it finally started charting super high and in 2019 it finally reached #1. Crazy how Mariah had song of the decade TWICE, in the 90s with “one sweet day” and in the 2000s with this song.

He is from NZ and this was a BIG deal in NZ at the time of it's release. It's not played on radio anywhere in the country though. He was probably just very young with family not Mariah fans. But it was a big deal

One Sweet Day was a lot more meaningful while this was a just another typical Mariah love song plus the collab with Boyz II Men is also why it stayed at #1 for so long

@@tj5579 we belong together is known more and more memorable lol. It was literally considered her BIGGEST song of all time, until the late 2010s when “all I want for Xmas” started to take over and eventually became her biggest hit.

Fun fact: The lead vocals, on the climax of this song, were recorded in one take. The song wasn’t finished, and the label wanted it asap. It all worked out because the pressure helped her really tap into the emotion at climax.

IMO, "Joy Ride" (also from Mariah) is a track that should be in everyone's wedding songs 😂😂😂

If you play Mariah - her fans will come. She has an extensive catalog and goes across many genres. Since you've mentioned you like Cheery music and rap, you should stick to her bops and remixes with rappers. Let the fans know your music preferences and recommend you options based off that because Mariah has lots of depressing music and if that's not your thing than listening to it will make you nuts. Many reaction channels have blown up starting with Mariah because she is a multi genre artist and she'll bring in more fans of those genres that will add to your repertoire.
