FIRST TIME in South Korea! 🇰🇷 (Asia’s "economic miracle" - honest opinion)
Welcome to Seoul, South Korea! It is our first time traveling here and we are incredibly excited to explore this city, its food, history and find out why it has been named Asia's 'economic miracle' and share our first impressions. Seoul is a city well and truly a city of the future and we want to see how it compares to similar places we've visited in the region (for example Tokyo) and also if its location near the border with North Korea has any affect on daily life in the city. Travel to South Korea is surprisingly easy and we entered for all 90 days without a visa, so we have a lot of time to travel and explore this facinating east Asian nation.

Surely not a miracle because Korea has no natural resources except for Korean efforts; 자원하나 없는 한국은 오직 노력만으로 이루었기에 기적이 아님이 맞습니다.

Mostly yes, but luck and timing was also a factor too for Korea to do what it did when it did. Imagine trying to achieve what Korea did in: creating semiconductor industry, shipbuilding, auto, electronics, etc... from scratch today. It will be 100 times harder with the tech and investment as well as competition being too high.

South Korea was an amazing place to live and explore. The food never disappointed and being able to travel, hike, and local festivals gives everyone something to do. Hi from the USA. I am excited to see what you all get up to. It was a place I was lucky to call home for two years.
The land of quiet mornings However, from 4:30 to 5 a.m., there is a constant line of people commuting to work on buses or subways. God blesses the Republic of Korea because they are working hard and respecting their parents. Because they have no resources, but the only resource they can boast about is people.

south korea is not a peninsula, practically an island nation. they surrounded by powerful countries CHN, RUS, JPN. so they’ve worked super hard just to SURVIVE. their tremendous passion and effort might be the reason behind this miracle. that's why i love south korea so xuckin much.

And that also turned South Korea into a powerful country itself. One of the most powerful in the world in fact. It has the 7th largest developed economy and the 5th most powerful armed force. It also possesses the capacity to mass produce the gold of the future, which are semiconductors

One of the main factors of their development is attributed to intervention of the USA after the Korean War, before that they were constantly invaded by China and japan for thousand years. And the existence of N. Korea helped to become a global military power.

I was born and raised in S. Korea in 1960. Immigrated to America in 1970 so I feel what you are saying. My first time using indoor plumbing was in the US along with toilet paper, sleeping in a bed, toothpaste, watching TV, shampoo and so much more. I went back to Korea in 2008 and I couldn’t believe the changes. I was so proud and happy for S. Korea. Itaewan was the only place I had some familiarity.

Korea was poor 70 years ago because of the three years of the Korean War. The nation's land was destroyed and there was nothing. It is a miracle. Go to old Korean villages, houses, and palaces. They are a cultural powerhouse. Africa? Hahaha It is funny to compare them with Africa.
This video made me miss visiting Korea!❤
Well, It's even more surprising that you guys are surprised by 2023 to see a country that was already classified as an advanced economy country by the IMF and the World Bank in the 1990s.
Hey Matt and Julia. Seoul is one modern, mega-sized city. One country we've never been to. So interesting. The "old town" is so much more my cup of tea. Looking forward to Uzbekistan with you. Great editing job, and historical facts, you guys really did your research before uploading. Thank you for an awesome vlog. Most first-time vloggers putting up their "First time in South Korea" would just show where they are and where they're going. But do not give the history of South Korea. The cold noodle soup is called Naengmyeon. It would help if you had asked for scissors, or they would normally cut it for you. You can also add vinegar and mustard to the soup base, giving it a tangy and spicy taste. I really enjoyed watching your video. 👏 👍

If you find out how much they exploited from Korea during Japanese invasions and colonial period, then you would not say like that. Japan got wealth because they took everything from Korea such as golds, resources, cultural heritages, people's lives, and ect.
