FIRST TIME in South Korea! 🇰🇷 (Asia’s "economic miracle" - honest opinion)

Welcome to Seoul, South Korea! It is our first time traveling here and we are incredibly excited to explore this city, its food, history and find out why it has been named Asia's 'economic miracle' and share our first impressions. Seoul is a city well and truly a city of the future and we want to see how it compares to similar places we've visited in the region (for example Tokyo) and also if its location near the border with North Korea has any affect on daily life in the city. Travel to South Korea is surprisingly easy and we entered for all 90 days without a visa, so we have a lot of time to travel and explore this facinating east Asian nation.

Mostly yes, but luck and timing was also a factor too for Korea to do what it did when it did. Imagine trying to achieve what Korea did in: creating semiconductor industry, shipbuilding, auto, electronics, etc... from scratch today. It will be 100 times harder with the tech and investment as well as competition being too high.

The land of quiet mornings However, from 4:30 to 5 a.m., there is a constant line of people commuting to work on buses or subways. God blesses the Republic of Korea because they are working hard and respecting their parents. Because they have no resources, but the only resource they can boast about is people.

One of the main factors of their development is attributed to intervention of the USA after the Korean War, before that they were constantly invaded by China and japan for thousand years. And the existence of N. Korea helped to become a global military power.

My first time using indoor plumbing was in the US along with toilet paper, sleeping in a bed, toothpaste, watching TV, shampoo and so much more. I went back to Korea in 2008 and I couldn’t believe the changes. I was so proud and happy for S. Korea. Itaewan was the only place I had some familiarity.

Most first-time vloggers putting up their "First time in South Korea" would just show where they are and where they're going. But do not give the history of South Korea. The cold noodle soup is called Naengmyeon. It would help if you had asked for scissors, or they would normally cut it for you. You can also add vinegar and mustard to the soup base, giving it a tangy and spicy taste. I really enjoyed watching your video. 👏 👍

Watching from Washington State. Your videos inspire me to seek out new adventures wherever I'm located. After your Vietnam video, I found a place that served egg coffee and had SUCH an amazing meal. Now I'll have to go find a Korean BBQ place! :)

@@Takeshima.is.japan.I can see you are not Korean. But I prefer you to study about the history, bro. First, I don't hate Japan personally but history is history. If you find out how much they exploited from Korea during Japanese invasions and colonial period, then you would not say like that. Japan got wealth because they took everything from Korea such as golds, resources, cultural heritages, people's lives, and ect. And they did human experimentation called Maruta, made young girls prostitutes for their Army, and genocide people for no reason. At what point, Koreans can appreciate what Japan did to us? None of Koreans appreciate what Japan did to us in the past.

It is irritating to see the typical Western view of judging a country with thousands of years of history by only a brief moment in the 20th century. Actually, Korea was already one of the top 10 gdp countries in the world a thousand years ago..

Yes, that is true, but most Koreans don't really care anymore. Of course, Koreans are patriotic but very honest people. One day, Koreans seem to have lost interest in outsiders' views of Korea. And it is short knowledge and prejudice that any people of any country judge another country
