This clip reminds me when I went to that temple with my father, but he could not walk much. So, I didn' t get the chance to go into the cave. I just saw the inside from this clip. Thanks a lot. I just searched about Chiang Dao for you. I saw something about Doi Luang ดอยหลวง that is 2,275 meters above sea level. The page mentions about UNESCO thing. If you are still around Chiang Dao, you might consider visiting this mountain. Ride carefully and have fun, Wayne.

It does feel a million miles away from tourists in Chiang Dao. Great place. Yes, the rice pork and rice dishes are a bit same same.

Where Thailand is different from neighboring countries is that there are quite complete and very good restaurants and coffee shops. Including a gas station and 7-Eleven, as well as many toilets. The streets are relatively clean and tidy, and the city is relatively complete, there are not many thieves, so it is suitable for tourism and living. 😊🤗

Hello Wayne i couldn't see anything special with the road but like you i was blown away with the mountain view and the caves weren't to bad either, i think the little village near there would be my ideal place to live in a close community more my thing as i do like it quiet. Vibrant places are nice to visit but not to live in for me. anyway man nice to see your vlog and i look forward to the next one, the channel is getting real interesting now and i am loving the trips out. The camera didn't do the road justice, but it wasn't anything mind blowing. It was a zig zaggy road with trees either side. It did feel magical and it's become a instagram selfie spot. The mountain took me by surprise, as you can here in the video haha. It gave me a rush haha. It's a great area to live mate, it's high on my list. Thanks for the support Brett, few more episodes left for this trip. I've already got the next trip planned also.

I've been to Chiang Dao back in the day. I've also been to Fang. The road from Chiang Dao to Fang is beautiful. If you are able to push on to Fang then that would be great. Anyhow Wayne up to you. Stay safe and have fun 😊👍🏼

Have you seen Hinoki Land in Fang, a bit far away, probably need a car, Japanese garden super delicious place also many other places on the way to see, delicious cafe restaurant must be seen on the road Thai Dates Ban Suan Ko Lak..

Another beautiful place Wayne. You just keep 'em coming . Looks a great chilled spot for 2/3 days . Note to self , get digs on side road with mountain views & not on main drag . But then you found the small night market & I could change my mind

Compared to Chiang Dao, Pai is for the birds, Man. Truly a nice place. I would not mind living there. I will need to check it on the map to see how far from Chiang Mai. One could probably just rent a room there for about Bt.2000 per month, and use it as a getaway from Chiang Mai a couple times a month. Truly a very nice, quiet and clean town. (Not far at all. According to Google Maps, it would take me only 13 hours to walk there.)

Thanks Jim. I wasn't expecting that to hit me in the face when I turned the corner. It sure is breathtaking. I knew there was a mountain there. But that moment , when you turn the corner and it just hits you in the face. I wasn't expecting that. Amazing place.

The pool outside the cave entrance is probably my favorite part of Chiang Dao. It's filled with fish you can feed also if you want to hang around and relax.

Very Good! Nice to see some of the local feel and charm I remember from Chiang Mai back in day. Btw Wayne, I thinking that it might be possible to push up the color saturation and gamma of your footage and bring out more of the stunning colors. If you're using a GoPro, I think most models now can shoot 10-bit mode, and that might help bring out more detail and color.

10 bit won't do nothing on KZread buddy, especially at 1080p. I'm happy with the color mate, don't want it to fake. I could give it a little boost here and there though. Cheers Jack.

@@WalkAboutWayne I get your point Wayne. Your other videos looked pretty well on for color and saturation, this one a little flat. I used to do quite a bit of editing and color grading, and on my calibrated monitor, I thought the mountains and road could with a dab more saturation. I agree, 10-bit alone uploaded to KZread gets you nothing, but 10 bit if exposed corrected optimally on a 10 bit timeline and property exported to 8-big SRGB, can be a noticeable improvement over 8-bit, but it's a bit more complicated and depends on the camera too. I shot 8-bit video SRGB footage for a number of years and with the compressed footage, I found that pushing colors usually ended up looking boosted and artificial, but when I jumped into 12 bit Cinema DNG Raw, and 10 bit log, that on a 10Bit timeline, I could bring up the colors to look naturally rich and saturated. That said, I pretty much record 8-bit 4K H.265 (but not flat in 8-bit log) on Panasonic cameras that image in 10 to 12 bits and do in-camera processing down to 8-bits (similar to how the GoPro Works I think), but if I have the time, to do the collor correction, I rather shoot 10 or 12 bit Log and spend the time getting the most out of it. I also find I typically can get better looking image with Davinchi Resolve over Final Cut, Premiere or Vegas, but it's more time consuming I'm happy to share any insights or take a test crack at some footage to see if it's can be improved. I might have knocked a setting on a few vids mate. I'm always changing a setting without knowing it I done a whole vlog in super wide view the other day without checking :( I've just moved to Final Cut from Premiere also, so maybe that's why it's a little different. 10 bit would only be worth while if I filmed in flat buddy and to time consuming and no need for just vlogging. Keep in GoPro colour and edit. No need for color grading really mate. I do small tweaks now and then but that's it. Cheers for the offer though mate. 👍

​@@WalkAboutWayne Switching to Final Cut could have changed things a bit. I've noticed that Premiere does render out a bit differently than FCP, which seems to keep base color levels more neutral. You we're shooting in some pretty high dynamic range lighting, so the GoPro might've muted things as well. I just got a 2017 M7 Macbook 12" for a featherweight travel machine. The MB 12" doesn't even have a fan, but I was surprised how well FCP ran on it. 4K was fluid and it rendered surprisingly fast, while Premier on such a minimal laptop was basically uneditable, and I'm guessing FCP may run faster on your Macbook. Resolve Studio has been my go on on my MacPro and High Horsepower Windows Laptop, for a few years now, so I loaded the free version of Resolve on the MacBook 12", and so far it seems pretty usable. I find Color grading in Resolve much faster and simple than FCP or PP, and Resolve's auto color correction is the only automatic color correction that pretty much works. The main headache I with FCP, especially on a Laptop, is how fast the FCP libraries expand and fill up your hard drive. Resolve doesn't have that exploding library issue, and I can easily keep everything in one project folder with the Resolve project file, and move the whole project off drive and open it from wherever if needed. If you haven't used resolve, I might suggest trying the free version and see if it's a fit. Cheers!

@@jackoneil3933 I really liked Davinci mate, i used it for a while and i could have easily continued with it. I loved Premiere also. Everything changed when i moved from Windows to M1 Mac. FCP is blazing on M1. I don't need any proxies and it exports in minutes. I still prefered editing on resolve and premiere though. I'll stick with FCP for now because of the time i save. I agree mate, FCP is hard drive hog!! I edit off external SSD, so nothing is kept on my laptop. I delete everything after a project is finished. Davinci does run well on M1, so maybe in the future i'll switch again. Cheers mate.

If you have time, ride around the mountain. The other side is even more spectacular. Passes through a park entrance. A village here has grown into a tourist campsite. Finally leads to Muang Thong, a beautiful valley like those in Pai.

@@WalkAboutWayne I am fine with wild birds. However, domesticated animals, such as most dogs and all roosters, are for the birds, Man. Domesticated farm animals belong in the barnyard, and are not pets. I am sure most of your subscribers will agree with me on this point. Farmers are paid to live with chickens and roosters, but there is no advantage listening to roosters, for most of us innocent souls.
