This was their big “comeback” hit after the disco backlash and they spent years writing hits for others. US radio was still ignoring them but it was a huge #1 hit in Europe and around the world. It’s a song you could tell they enjoyed doing live. Barry dreamed the chorus hook and lyrics and woke up in the middle of night frantically trying to find batteries for his tape recorder so he didn’t forget it. 😂 Maurice created the signature “stomp” sound in his garage studio.

Great to see you with a reaction to the BeeGees. You would like the live version from 1988 with Phil Collins playing drums for them. Its really fun to watch. The stadium had a massive crowd. Praying for you Ben❤❤❤❤❤

Love this song! Everywhere a hit but in the US. Radio play for the bee Gees was still denied them for the most part, a holdover still from the "Disco Sucks" backlash. Radio wouldn't have played a Bee Gees release anyway if it were country, rock, alternative.

There are no drums in the recording of this song. The "stomps" were created by Mo on his new studio equipment 🙂 This was Princess Diana's favorite song! Love it!!
