Love the songs you've heard, yet can't wait until you hear the sound they have on their latest album, Abyss. These really honor the classic metal and Abyss brings the sound into the 2020s. Looks like you are hitting all of them, so can't wait for Soulbound or The Wind that Shapes the Land from that album.

I just found your channel, and I have to say I'm enjoying your analytical approach. The close attention you're paying to the music is a welcome break from most of the reactors I've seen pop up in my feed lately. You gushed a lot about Brittney's strong, clean vocals in this, and I see you've also been checking out some Band-Maid and Lovebites; perhaps you would enjoy adding another Japanese band to your rotation? If you like clean soprano vocals over great '80s-influenced metal, you should definitely check out Ijime, Dame, Zettai by Babymetal, preferably live at Sonisphere in 2014 (their western breakthrough performance). They cover a wide variety of metal subgenres, and that song is one that seems like it'll be right up your alley. Another song of theirs you might enjoy is Headbanger, which leans more toward groove metal - for that one, I suggest the live performance from their Legend 1997 show in 2013. Looking forward to checking out more of your stuff in the future. Cheers!

UTA has been my all time favorite band for a while. Growing up with Maiden Pantera Metallica I was spoiled back in the day. What u love most is it reminds you of that Era in metal but still has a sound that definitely is there own.

Listen to the original by Stan Rogers too - maybe not as a reaction, but just for your own enjoyment. Truly a blessing to the ears 🙏 edit: especially if you like vocal choruses

I listen with Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 ohm closed-back studio mixing headphones, and they even make KZread's compressed music sound good.

Now that you've heard Time Stands Still, the next one needs to be Northwest Passage, which is considered the "Second Canadian National Anthem." Plus, you get to hear a choir turn into a metal band, lol. Edit: I also think you should react to Unleash the Archers' cover of Queen of the Reich. Brittney really does the vocals of Geoff Tate justice. By the way, I have to ask: What do you think would happen if Unleash the Archers did a cover of Hallowed Be Thy Name by Iron Maiden? Because I think Brittney and the band could pull it off, especially the vocals of Bruce Dickinson during the performance in 1982.

Guitarists Grant and Andy provide backing vocals. Grant mainly does the harsh vocals. According to him, Brittney’s attempts at growling “sounds like a kitten.”

When you're talking about the 80's, the three dudes at the end doing the judging? Baldy is supposed to be Rob Halford, Dave Mustaine at the other end and I forget who the middle guy was supposed to be. They've gone back to the 80's to be judged by the legends, so it's funny that you often bring up the 80's with them. They're obviously very aware of their influences. Brittney talks about Dio, Dickinson, Halford and Tate as being her influences.

BTW, if you ever want to talk about your video setup let me know. I do instructional videos on my other channel and I use a setup similar to a reaction channel. I produce a video of examples and play it on a laptop while I talk over it. There's a camera on me, a camera on my desk surface plus the laptop output that's all being recorded, then synced in post. It's some setup and cost in the studio, but it's a piece of cake to edit. It's great for churning out videos.

Awesome reaction. One of my favorite UTA songs. Love how anthemic it is. Totally get the 80's comment. For me it feels like they are a modern version of old school power metal. Might be time to return to Apex and the Immortal story. I can definitely recommend doing album playthroughs to get the whole story although there aren't always music or live videos for each song. Another fun one to do would be False Walls from Apex. You can do the original album version and then in a double reaction do the synthwave version they just released that will be part of the 5th anniversary re-release of Apex in November.

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! TIME STANDS STILL Abandon this sun, what’s done is done, and time will go on and on It won’t be long, we will come, and time will go on and on [Verse 1] Hold on, though it seems that the end it is now upon us, fear not the fall Rise up, we will find there’s a way for us to carry on, for once and for all Fortune’s favor, is ours now, ride to glory [Chorus] Abandon this sun, what’s done is done, and time will go on and on It won’t be long, we will come, and time will go on and on [Verse 2] Stand with us, be the one that will lead them when the night is over, answer the call Rebuild, history can only be written by the victors, and we will write it all Break through, when the walls have fallen and the ash has lifted, light will come Gather now, we have risen on the winds of our transformation, we finally have won [Chorus] Abandon this sun, what’s done is done, and time will go on and on It won’t be long, we will come, and time will go on and on

I have to stop comparing all of these band to the likes of Nightwish, Epica, et.al. It is just not fair and it prevents me from enjoying other music on it's own merits.

To me UtA are more a modernized version of 80s power metal. And regarding Metallica vs Megadeth, to me Metallica is clearly the more impactful band of the two. They had 4 straight albums that kept pushing compositional complexity to the limit, full of memorable songs, Megadeth had one, Rust In Peace, other than that, they have had a more sustained string of albums with one of more hits on them, but most of them being very straight forward mediocre LPs. So we will agree to disagree on that one. 😜 Metallica used to be my favorite band of all time, but I have rediscovered Nightwish with their new singer Floor, and now they are my new favorite with 20 years of unbelievable super diversified music. 😀
