Ruffin had that scratchy edge in voice when he hit those certain notes. Such a timeless classic!🔭🎶🎶

My Girl was recorded in 1964 & came out in 1965 it was their first big hit from trying for years to get one the only somewhat hit they had before "My Girl" was "The Way You Do The Things You Do." Smokey Robinson wrote "My Girl" After hearing the guitar part of the beat being played by one of the players in Motown's band. He joined in on piano singing & the rest is history.

My only gripe is i wish you had reacted to one of their early 60s perfomance videos of them singing this song.....their choreography to this song makes this song complete and this was recorded in 1964.....one of the greatest classics of all time......great reaction

Magnificent mon ami,this was The Te.ptations first international hit in 1965.It was written by Smokey Robinson.Note the lovely orchestration,another Motown trademark.Incidentally,Smokey always said that Ruffin was a sleeping giant. He needed to write the perfect song for his voice and he did that with My Girl. Timeless song well done my friend,keep it up.

This song s been in my back pocket since I first heard it - for much of my life.

A big time hit for the Temptations and I love it and thanks Mother Popcorn for suggesting this classic jam. We would get up and do the temptation dance and switch from side to side and we knew the lyrics. I just got up and did a step or two. Thanks for playing this lovely song.

How do you know a song is a classic? Going on 60 years since its release and it doesn't matter.

I didn’t know LS was supposed to be called My girls,, I’m glad they went for originality in terms of the theme song.

Classic. Was in the movie Cooley High, The Temptations movie and the movie called My Girl.
